Question:	What would i need for 2 doors
Answer:	Without the separate Connect device, the August lock relies on Bluetooth for communications. That means that you have to be within Bluetooth range to use the August app to lock/unlock the door. If you want the lock to use WiFi for communication, you need the Connect device. WiFi is needed to control the August lock remotely (out of Bluetooth range) including using Alexa or other devices to control the lock.
Question:	Is it more reliable than the 2nd Gen? My 2G version failed all the time, replaced twice under warranty, and still not perfect
Answer:	It’s a lot better than the 2G. I’ve had it for 4 months and I’ve had no problems whatsoever. The remote access is instant as compared to the 2G which took like 30-60 seconds. I definitely recommend it
Question:	Once i come home and am in the door, does it lock automatically while i'm at home? every time i'm just near the back door will it unlock by mistake
Answer:	The phone app tries to unlock the door automatically just once every time you have been several hundred yards away from your home.

Question:	Does the keypad light up, my hallway is very dark and my kids would need to see the numbers
Answer:	Yes. Press the Lock Button at the top of the key pad. All keys will light up.
Question:	Do I have to pay for the app
Answer:	No. But honestly, I have had lots of problems with the lock since purchase. I don't trust it. Have changes the batteries mutliple times. It simply is not reliable. I wonder if I got a dud or if it is just a lousy product. If I could do it again, I'd just buy the non wifi one that I prviously had. It is reliable and cheaper.
Question:	What is battery life
Answer:	We installed my father's lock on December 26th - by January 1st, the lock was dead .. installed 4 more high quality batteries on January 1st and today (January 11th), battery status is down to 19% ... Just got off the phone with Kwikset and now they are telling me that if my father's router isn't on their list of compatible routers, all batteries will drain extremely fast ... would have been nice to have known that --- we bought this for my 93 year old father who lives alone ... not happy with Kwikset right now.

Answer:	There’s a cover on the top of the lock that is removed and the batteries are in a cradle that you remove to replace the 4 AA batteries.

Answer:	If you mean that it could stay unlock, yes.
Question:	Can I program and use the auto-lock feature without any "smart" connectivity, or am I required to connect it to some app for that
Answer:	Yes you can program it to lock itself after 30 seconds of being unlocked without connecting it to any apps. Instructions: first you must know your programming code Press schlage and enter the programming code followed by the command Commands: To add new user: programming code + 1 then new users code twice To Delete a users code: programming code + 2 then the code to be deleted twice To activate or deactivate the 30 secs lock: programming code + 9 To delete all codes: programming code + 6 To mute or unmute the keypad: programming code +5 To change the length of the security codes (all user codes have to be the same length) programming code + 8 then the number of digits you would like the code to be, twice (ex: to make it a 6 digit code, enter programming code + 8 + 6 + 6) then you proceed to add the new 6 digit code

Answer:	I suggest you buy the encode. You won’t need to buy anything additional. It’ll connect to your WiFi and you download the amazon key app and you’re all set. With the connect you need to purchase a Samsung smarthings device. The price looks cheaper but in the long run it comes out the same. I bought the connect and quickly returned for the encode. So much nicer

Question:	I have a metal door that doesn't use face plates. Does this come with the round face plates also? You can't use the existing face plates

Question:	Is there a warning when batteries are low? How often do batteries need to be replaced
Answer:	Haven’t had to change batteries yet, installed couple months ago. On our previous house we changed the batteries around 8 month’s, it beeped after locking when batteries were low
Question:	Can you prevent it from locking automatically
Answer:	Of course yes, the auto-lock feature automatically re-locks your doors, by default, in 30s after unlocking. But if you wanna disable the auto-lock function, you can change it in just simple 4 steps. Before operation, you need to make sure the lock is unlocked and the door is opened, then (1) enter your existing programming code; (2) Press TACKLIFE button, you will hear one beep; (3) Press 5; (4) Press TACKLIFE button again. You will hear two beeps if the change successed, otherwise, three beeps will indicate the chage in unsuccessful.

Question:	I have a deadbolt about 1 inch above my door knob. In order to use this, do I have to get rid of the deadbolt since it's so close to the knob

Ultraloq doesn’t cover the deadbolt hole completely if you would like replace your existing deadbolt and knob / lever. However, there is a quick solution. What most customers do is a swap - install Ultraloq on the top hole and put the existing deadbolt on the lower hole. If there is no existing deadbolt or you want to remove your deadbolt, most of them will get this accessory in Lowes or Home Depot to cover the top or lower hole, depending on which hole you install Ultraloq. Answer:	For me, specifically relating to the 17' model (12017) I have used wide boards on the very top rungs. Using a tape measure from the concrete floor in my shop to the top of the board going across, I have a height of 46-48 inches. I found this perfectly fine to use in this capacity, though it is NOT recommended by Little Giant or myself. I am probably stupid to do it...lol That said, I have never felt unsafe or in danger. Truthfully, I am very careful and cautious.

Answer:	The Revolution is basically a newer version of the Classic with several updated features compared to the classic Little Giant Classic M26 (10126LG). The Revolution has quad-locking hinges, Rock Locks to lock the rungs (Rock-Locks are easier to use then the U-locks). The Revolution also has slightly deeper inner rungs for added standing comfort and is about 5 pounds lighter. They both reach the same height in their various configurations.

Answer:	The max height of this Little Giant 17 as a step ladder is 7-8 feet. It is 17 feet when fully extended as an extension ladder. The other thing to bear in mind is it is a heavy ladder. The wheels do help when working on flat surfaces (indoor or out) as you can wheel it around. However, these will not help you much on rough ground or when you need to lift it (e.g. up/down stairs, loading it into car, storing it etc). It's a unisex product, so no one will laugh at you !

Answer:	Yes, most of the Kwikset single cylinder deadbolts work fine. I had an old Kwikset lock and it worked fine with my August smart locks of the 2nd and now 4th generations. I believe that August has a list of tested locks on their website. but many other Kwitset lock, not listed there, work as well.
Question:	My front door is sticky and when it's only partially closed the deadbolt can be sticky. Will this be a problem
Answer:	Yes, it will be in my experience. You need to solve it first. I invited a carpenter who solved this problem for my front door before installing the August smart lock.
