Answer:	The best I can determine measuring with my micrometer, the thickness is 0.003 inches (3 Mil). I also measured some Foodsaver brand bags and as best as I could determine they are also 0.003 inches thick. I use lots of vacuum bags and really like the 8"x50' Vacuum Sealer Roll Commercial Grade Embossed Vacuum Seal Bags that I bought because they are less expensive than Foodsaver brand and in my opinion just as good.

Using a tape measure from the concrete floor in my shop to the top of the board going across, I have a height of 46-48 inches. I found this perfectly fine to use in this capacity, though it is NOT recommended by Little Giant or myself. I am probably stupid to do it...lol That said, I have never felt unsafe or in danger. Truthfully, I am very careful and cautious.
