Answer:	The Kwikset 99130-002 SmartCode 913 does not have Alexa built in and since it is a Z-Wave protocol device, it will not work with any of the hub-enabled Echo devices. However, if you get a Z-Wave compatible hub, such as Samsung Smartthings hub, you can incorporate that into your network (pretty easy), then you can tell (or ask) Alexa to lock the door. My opinion is that if it can be subjected directly to moisture (rain, snow) and extreme temperatures that would be a problem since the keypad is on the outside. The main electronics are in the inside unit and would thereby be protected. I have one installed on my front door but it is protected by a storm door and roof over the front stoop. If practical the installation of a storm door would probably give it the necessary protection.
Question:	Is there a version of this that does not have the thumb turn inside? I don't want someone to break my window and reach inside for the thumb turn

Because there is only 1/4" of wood there, 99% of burglars just kick the door open. It's pretty easy. So is smashing the small window people have next to or in their doors so they can reach in and unlock it by hand. Nobody goes to the effort of casing, spying, and buying powerful HD camera's when there are so many ways to get in that require little to no effort.

Question:	Does the keypad light up, my hallway is very dark and my kids would need to see the numbers
Answer:	Yes. Press the Lock Button at the top of the key pad. All keys will light up.
Question:	Do I have to pay for the app
Answer:	No. But honestly, I have had lots of problems with the lock since purchase. I don't trust it. Have changes the batteries mutliple times. It simply is not reliable. I wonder if I got a dud or if it is just a lousy product. If I could do it again, I'd just buy the non wifi one that I prviously had. It is reliable and cheaper.
Question:	What is battery life
Answer:	We installed my father's lock on December 26th - by January 1st, the lock was dead .. installed 4 more high quality batteries on January 1st and today (January 11th), battery status is down to 19% ... Just got off the phone with Kwikset and now they are telling me that if my father's router isn't on their list of compatible routers, all batteries will drain extremely fast ... would have been nice to have known that --- we bought this for my 93 year old father who lives alone ... not happy with Kwikset right now.
Question:	Does this come with a physical metal key as well

Answer:	Hopefully it's still under warranty because the locks are designed to remember settings when tje batteries die or are replaced without any additional programming
Question:	can i use a key that my bottom door handle lock uses? If i just want to change the deadbolt, but keep the same keys
Answer:	I used this to replace a Kwickset keyless lock, the key part (the tumbler part that has the keyhole in it) I was able to take out of the Kwickset and use in this lock. So I didn't have to change keys and all of my outside doors have a common key. So I have the same key for 3 doors. I am also going to buy 2 more to replace the rest of my locks and do the same thing (swapping the tumbler part)
Question:	I bought it, it works however, when you enter the master code to unlock - it doesn't work. Tried putting new batteries and resetting the code no luck
Answer:	Absolutely right, each family member can own his/her unique password. What's more, if you run Airbnb, a keyless keypad deadbolt lock will save you tons of troubles

Question:	Is the outdoor directed right handed and the indoor left
Answer:	I'm not sure if Amazon Echo actually allows direct control of this without a home automation hub, but you do need a compatible hub of some sort.
Question:	Can this be used for a right or left door opening
Answer:	If you take the cover off there is a small screw that locks the black cover to the metal part. If you remove the screws, the black cover removes so you can replace the batteries without removing screws or the whole cover. With everything assemb;ed you just need to pull up on the black cover to remove. Yes, I do read the instructions. lol
Question:	Can I use this for a gate door which is exposed to the weather. Like rain
Answer:	It may depend on the hub you use. I use a Wink hub and I just get date, time, and locked or unlocked. It does not distinguish the user / code.
Question:	Does the key pad unlock both the deatbolt and doorknob
Answer:	I don't know why it shows up that way, but it does not work with my zwave device. We have ADT for security but they do not support this device. So basically it can only be used as a keypad lock. Kind of useless for me.
