Answer:	The easiest answer is to unlock it with the key you are using right now. If there is still battery, other options are the smartphone app, key code (with optional keypad). With wifi, Siri and Alexa, assuming the August Connect is also equipped.

Answer:	Not sure if you are asking about the August lock or Amazon Echo. The lock uses Bluetooth to function with your phone in your home. If you wish to access it from a location outside of Bluetooth range (which is measured in a few dozens of feet) you must purchase the WiFi extender from August. And for that to work you must have WiFi in your home. Hope this helps
Question:	Does this require a hub
Answer:	Yes, it requires a hub if you want to be able to monitor or control the lock remotely. If you just want to be able to open and close the door while you're standing 10 feet away, you can do it with bluetooth. Additionally, you'll need to purchase a separate "connect" hub for EVERY lock you install. Each one will require an outlet within fairly close bluetooth range of the lock being controlled.
Question:	What is the difference between this and august smart lock pro
Answer:	Aside from the way it looks, from my research the only difference is that the Smart Lock Pro has Apple Home support and this one doesn't. I don't use any apple products so I chose this model. It's been working great for me so far.

Question:	How do I set the lock to open without having to open the Kevo app on iPhone
Answer:	No, the lock uses a Bluetooth connection from your phone, the hub is not necessary. The hub is only necessary to connect to the internet so you can operate the lock from anywhere.

Question:	What would i need for 2 doors
Answer:	Without the separate Connect device, the August lock relies on Bluetooth for communications. That means that you have to be within Bluetooth range to use the August app to lock/unlock the door. If you want the lock to use WiFi for communication, you need the Connect device. WiFi is needed to control the August lock remotely (out of Bluetooth range) including using Alexa or other devices to control the lock.
Question:	Is it more reliable than the 2nd Gen? My 2G version failed all the time, replaced twice under warranty, and still not perfect
Answer:	It’s a lot better than the 2G. I’ve had it for 4 months and I’ve had no problems whatsoever. The remote access is instant as compared to the 2G which took like 30-60 seconds. I definitely recommend it
Question:	Once i come home and am in the door, does it lock automatically while i'm at home? every time i'm just near the back door will it unlock by mistake

Ultraloq doesn’t cover the deadbolt hole completely if you would like replace your existing deadbolt and knob / lever. However, there is a quick solution. What most customers do is a swap - install Ultraloq on the top hole and put the existing deadbolt on the lower hole. If there is no existing deadbolt or you want to remove your deadbolt, most of them will get this accessory in Lowes or Home Depot to cover the top or lower hole, depending on which hole you install Ultraloq. Answer:	Yes, most of the Kwikset single cylinder deadbolts work fine. I had an old Kwikset lock and it worked fine with my August smart locks of the 2nd and now 4th generations. I believe that August has a list of tested locks on their website. but many other Kwitset lock, not listed there, work as well.
Question:	My front door is sticky and when it's only partially closed the deadbolt can be sticky. Will this be a problem
Answer:	Yes, it will be in my experience. You need to solve it first. I invited a carpenter who solved this problem for my front door before installing the August smart lock.

Question:	How do u get the red x off the keyless entry we have no book or code
Answer:	We installed the Yale Assure lock when our "regular" definitely not smart deadbolt broke. It works GREAT with my iPhone and I get alerts whenever the door is locked or unlocked. It does not identify which code is being used. I don't know if it can identify the individual code users. Make sure you get the model that works with the iPhone. They also recommend using the BILT app which is extremely helpful with installation and set up. Highly recommend.

Answer:	The app will notify you as soon as your batteries get low. The lock will also show a red battery icon for a few weeks before your batteries die. If the batteries die completely, you simply need to hold a 9V battery up to the terminals located below the keypad to energize the lock and then enter your pin code to get inside and change the batteries.
