Question:	I bought this but cannot open it. Is mine defective or is there a trick to opening it
Answer:	Sometimes you are right. I had one defective out of three I received. The spring was loaded improperly which made the latch always to be in the open. Or if I forced it, the spring would dislodge and make it difficult to even close. And once closed it would not open. Now if that is the case then you need replacement. However, if you are trying to understand how it works, all you have to do is when the latch lodged in the recess, basically in its closed position, pull out as if you are navigating around the latch notch that stops it. So the idea is pull laterally first and then turn the latch around the notch. Hope that helps.
Question:	do the screws come with this, or if not, what size do I need to buy
Answer:	Screws do come with it but buy your own. The screws that come with it are cheap and will break. By the same size screws but buy concrete screws. They're much stronger,
Question:	Does it only work when someone is inside
Answer:	I installed this on my front door. As others have said, you must be inside to lock it, and it cannot be locked or unlocked from the outside. So you have no access to the door from the outside when the lock is in place. I keep it locked all the time, even when I'm not home, because I go in and out through my back door. For extra safety and strength, I installed two of them on my front door, one about chest high and one about two feet from the floor. I did this because I have a glass panel on the top half of the door, so if a burglar breaks the window, the bottom blocker is out of reach. As extra security for my back door, I installed a security door (like a screen door except it's heavy gauge metal with its own handle lock and deadbolt).This door blocker is extremely well-made (heavy metal) and is a fantastic product. I highly recommend it.
Question:	Would the Fire Department have trouble entering a house with this lock in case of a fire
Answer:	I have experience breaking doors. I’ve put locks like this or better on my house knowing it will slow the fire dept down a bit but like others have said we have tools that will break even this. A halligan tool in the right hands will get through this pretty quickly, however with a lot of noise and certainly will deter the average criminal. 800lbs is a good amount of force to withstand, I think a average 200lb fireman with a halligan tool is probably capable of 1000lbs Of force applied to a certain spot on the door. If you put the lock high or low that will make breaking That more difficult. But the hydraulic tools fireman carry go up to 5000lbs.

Question:	Is there any lockout value in case someone is attempting to guess the password? Such as stop functioning for a minute after 3 unsuccessful attempts
Answer:	To lock the door from outside, there's three ways to lock it. Firstly, you can enable the auto lock feature. The bolt will extend out automatically in 30 seconds after unlocking. And you can also change the auto lock delay time. Please kindly refer to the program instruction. You can download them from the Technical Specification in this product page. Sencondly, you can lock it by manually. Press any button on keypad for 2 seconds. Or you can lock it by the key.

The second way to lock it is to set the auto lock feature, please press HuTools+HuTools+your master code+HuTools+5+1+HuTools. First time set the auto lock feature, the delay time is 30 seconds. To change the auto delay time, please press HuTools+HuTools+your master code+HuTools+8+seconds time number+HuTools. Question:	There is a keyhole on the outer side of the lock, what is it for
Answer:	Hi, please kindly check your resetting steps. ( Insert three batteries first, then use a pin to stick into the reset hole. Keep holding the pin for about 10 seconds, meanwhile insert the fourth battery. After you hear the beep sound and the deadbolt latch going out, you can release the pin on the reset hole.) Question:	What would i need for 2 doors
Answer:	Without the separate Connect device, the August lock relies on Bluetooth for communications. That means that you have to be within Bluetooth range to use the August app to lock/unlock the door. If you want the lock to use WiFi for communication, you need the Connect device. WiFi is needed to control the August lock remotely (out of Bluetooth range) including using Alexa or other devices to control the lock.
Question:	Is it more reliable than the 2nd Gen? My 2G version failed all the time, replaced twice under warranty, and still not perfect
Answer:	It’s a lot better than the 2G. I’ve had it for 4 months and I’ve had no problems whatsoever. The remote access is instant as compared to the 2G which took like 30-60 seconds. I definitely recommend it
Question:	Once i come home and am in the door, does it lock automatically while i'm at home? every time i'm just near the back door will it unlock by mistake
Answer:	The phone app tries to unlock the door automatically just once every time you have been several hundred yards away from your home.
Question:	What about Alexa? If someone shouts to Alexa to unlock the door, will she do it without question

Answer:	To lock someone in a closet put the keypad in the closet and don't give them the code. To lock someone out of the closet, but the keypad on the outside. The lever on the non keypad side will always open the door whether it is locked or not. This way your dog can escape a burning house even if the door is locked and he does not know how to unlock it. If he closes the door behind him as he escapes the flames, the door will still be locked and he will not be able to reenter without the code or the key.
Question:	The ad does not specify right of left hand knob. May I specify at time of order
Answer:	The Schlage FE595 is non-handed (reversible)
Question:	Does this work like a dead bolt so that this would be the only lock needed
Answer:	No, this is a replacement for the regular door latch and lock. The FE365 is what you need for the deadbolt. I use both. Note: A locksmith can re-core the locks so they all use the same key for the key bypass. I find that simpler than having to keep a bunch of bypass keys.
Question:	This Schlage FE595 Cam 619 ACC does not say the handles reversible. Is it? Why is it cheaper than the VCAM model
Answer:	I checked with a locksmith and yes it is reversible. The directions are with lock. It is really easy to reverse. I have had this lock for over 8 years and love it.

Question:	read where rain can "fry" this unit, true
Answer:	I have two of these and one of the touchpad deadbolts on different doors. The two like this have been installed about 2 years and the touchpad has been installed about three. One of them (this model) is installed on a shed directly in the elements while the other two have eves above them (very small overhangs). I am currently replacing the one that is directly in the elements while the other two are still functioning perfectly. The overhangs are small but it is the difference between getting soaked EVERY single time it rains and rarely ever getting directly rained on. So I would say, no, rain doesn’t “fry” this product but, yes, DIRECT exposure to the elements will likely shorten the lifespan of the lock. On the other hand, it doesn’t take much to reduce this problem (like a 12” overhang 8-10’ above the door). Also, the “shortened” lifespan of mine was still about two years. It was better than I expected knowing it was completely unsheltered.
Question:	Is the keypad visible in the dark -- from a source other than reflected light
Answer:	No, The Keyboard is not visible in the dark. You must touch a key on the pad before the keyboard lights. We press any key an then press the enter key before we enter a code.
Question:	Do the numbers wear on the commonly used keys (for your PIN entry?) That is, after repeated use, can a person tell which keys are pressed most often
Answer:	...even if one could identify the 4 most commonly used keys, there would still be 256 potential combinations since numbers can be repeated. I have had one of these for six years, and while the numbers have not worn, the buttons which are pushed most frequently are a bit dirtier than the numbers that never get pushed. They are not dirty but there is slight discoloration. However, since my wife and family each have separate codes, 8 out of the 10 buttons get used at some point. All that said, the keys are still clean and the oft used button are only barely discolored.

Answer:	No, This Lock does not have an autolock feature. Not having the feature was one of the purchasing process parameters.

Answer:	The M26 has a Max A-frame height of 11' 1"
Question:	Anyone have an online version of the instructions for this digital lock
Answer:	For me, specifically relating to the 17' model (12017) I have used wide boards on the very top rungs. Using a tape measure from the concrete floor in my shop to the top of the board going across, I have a height of 46-48 inches. I found this perfectly fine to use in this capacity, though it is NOT recommended by Little Giant or myself. I am probably stupid to do it...lol That said, I have never felt unsafe or in danger. Truthfully, I am very careful and cautious.
Question:	Sometimes my lock doesnt lock
Answer:	The Revolution is basically a newer version of the Classic with several updated features compared to the classic Little Giant Classic M26 (10126LG). The Revolution has quad-locking hinges, Rock Locks to lock the rungs (Rock-Locks are easier to use then the U-locks). The Revolution also has slightly deeper inner rungs for added standing comfort and is about 5 pounds lighter. They both reach the same height in their various configurations.

Answer:	The max height of this Little Giant 17 as a step ladder is 7-8 feet. It is 17 feet when fully extended as an extension ladder. The other thing to bear in mind is it is a heavy ladder. The wheels do help when working on flat surfaces (indoor or out) as you can wheel it around. However, these will not help you much on rough ground or when you need to lift it (e.g. up/down stairs, loading it into car, storing it etc). It's a unisex product, so no one will laugh at you !

Answer:	Yes the Hager 5300 closer will allow door opening to open to 180 degrees. But it all depends on the location of the closer installation. Read the instructions that come in the box and on page 2 in the sections to MARK AND DRILL HOLES it tells you where to drill the holes for an opening of 121 to 180 degrees. Answer:	Yes of course. From MDI Supply (Amazon Seller) the closer comes packaged with the parallel arm bracket which is used for out swing doors. If the door is in swing you just do not use the parallel arm bracket.

Question:	Will happens if somenoe has a key? Will this stop them
Answer:	I do not have this lock but I have a grandson with autism. His aunt is a locksmith and she came over & installed some locks at the top of my exterior doors that act as an extra deadbolt & have a pinch & pull system to open them that adults cannot always figure out. They serve two purposes. Extra security for me & also a way to prevent children from opening the door.
Question:	Will this work on outswing mobile home doors
Answer:	I havnt used this but having some experience in forcible entry, I can't tell you that you don't need this in a hotel room with a modern door. The doors with the hotel key locks are extremely heavy and secure. I've personally seen a trained fire crew spend 10 minutes trying to open one with their tools. They are almost impossible to pry or kick in.

Answer:	i barely got it to work on my traditional ball and pushin button front door. lf you try it, keep the packaging you bought it in and be prepared to send it back if it doesn't work. l am doubtful.

Answer:	Of course yes, the auto-lock feature automatically re-locks your doors, by default, in 30s after unlocking. But if you wanna disable the auto-lock function, you can change it in just simple 4 steps. Before operation, you need to make sure the lock is unlocked and the door is opened, then (1) enter your existing programming code; (2) Press TACKLIFE button, you will hear one beep; (3) Press 5; (4) Press TACKLIFE button again. Answer:	Hi, please kindly check your resetting steps. ( Insert three batteries first, then use a pin to stick into the reset hole. Keep holding the pin for about 10 seconds, meanwhile insert the fourth battery. After you hear the beep sound and the deadbolt latch going out, you can release the pin on the reset hole.) If the steps are the same and not work, please re-install the lock and check the cable connecting tightly. The mounting screws are not so tight when installing.
