With various types of deadbolts on the market in regards to locking positions, such as Vertical, Horizontal and Diagonal positions. Our LOKmate is designed with the purpose to fit those different positions.

To change the Octagon Center Piece to accommodate locking position is simple and easy. Just close the latch, glide out the center piece, rotate to the orientation to match your deadbolt and re-insert back onto the rail of the metal housing.

Please note that we have improved the magnets assembly method. These magnets are pressed into the body of the Octagon housing, they will never come loose as with some on the previous version, which was glued into instead of pressed into the octagon. Never worry about this again :-)!!!!

How do I know if the LOKmate will work on my deadbolt?

Most critical is the gap clearance between the door jam and the door will need to have at least 1/16" for the LOKmate's hinge to insert into. Other than that, the LOKmate will work on most conventional deadbolts with similar types of deadbolt shown on pictures.

Why is the middle Housing Center is made with plastic?

The Center Housing is constructed with durable plastic with the main reason to prevent scratches to your deadbolt.

Is the LOKmate childproof?

LOKmate is designed for a quick 1 second release thus it is not childproof. However, with the strong N52 magnets, it will be somewhat difficult for small toddlers to remove.

Will this works for door open from the right as well as from the left?.

Yes it works for both sides. All you will need to do is flip the LOKmate over and that's it.

Answer:	It definitely takes time. My husband helped my 6Y son build it.I watched them have a lot of fun, my son loves it very much.
Question:	If I buy multiple units can I get them keyed alike
Answer:	From my personal experience adult supervision is required. There are a large number of tiny parts and my 6 year old needed help with the instructions and building of it.
