Answer:	Yes, with the baclklight on, it's viewable from straight-on to tilted away from yourself, but with the top tilted towards you it loses all contrast. Side-to-side viewing angle is a good. This is a common trait among some LCD displays.
Question:	I want to measure current flowing to my car starter when cranking engine. Does this clamp on meter measure DC current when using clamp
Answer:	Yes, It can read DC starting current with the clamp when set to DC measurement. Reading moves fast but I take video with mobile phone camera and rewind to see the 268A when starting a Nissan Frontier 2.5 L engine. Reasonable current though I cannot check its accuracy yet. I buy meter to monitor DC charging current and confirm non-running car leaking currents under 50mA but need to wait 20 minutes after engine off to let car computer stabilize from initial shutoff which can cab be as high as 0.6A. With this meter, I also find about 10mV leaking voltage on plastic surface between terminals at new battery (due to acid filling spill at manufacturing?) from club store which I need to reduce the Voltage drop to less than 0.1 mV by scribing several grooves on plastics surface around terminal posts. Calibrate to zero by holding Z/F button few seconds before measurement can help read accuracy. I am happy with this meter for the price. Hope you too if do not have time to find a better cheaper on
Question:	how accurate is th DC current measurment
Answer:	I have not checked it against a reference, but I have done some measurements on my car with this. It seemed to reflect a reasonable value when the battery charger was on, showing charging current. and It showed a big current for the started that was believable. When you first set it, you can press a zero button to zero it out. Then I looked at a really bad solar panel that could only put out about 50 milliamps when shorted, and it was able to show that pretty well. So the bottom line, if you are going to use this for debugging stuff, it seems pretty good. If you are going to measure calorie input to control a chemical reactions in a pharmaceutical lab, I can't say. For me, it is just cool that it can do a DC current in the first place. Has already come in handy as I was able to determine my alternator was not charging my battery quite easily.

Question:	Will this read .2 amps on a tiny 22 gauge wire with 5v dc running through the clamp? can it read amps through a wrapped 2 wire (+/-) usb cable
Answer:	This meter does NOT measure DC Current. If you had a different clamp meter that would read DC current, you would have to separate the 2 wires and place the clamp around only one to measure the current. When both +/- wires are in the clamp the fields would cancel and the reading would be zero.
Question:	How many milli amps will the clamp meter read down to? i need one that will read 10mamps
Answer:	In the 2/20 range it will resolve to 1 milli amp (.001).

Answer:	Sounds like what you need is a Kill-A-Watt meter (brand name). You plug the meter in the wall then plug the appliance in the meter. Real simple. Gives amps, watts, volts, etc.
Question:	Can the clamp measure voltage without load
Answer:	The clamp (non-contact) can only measure current (amperage), not voltage. To measure voltage, you'd need to use the probes on a physical connection (terminal or bare wire).
Question:	I am working on a light fixture - if I want to test the actual wires (and not outlet) to see if they're live, what setting would I need to do this on
Answer:	Nobody else said it, but if you use the clamp meter, it must be around a SINGLE wire, it will not work if you clamp around both wires of the cable. You must separate the wires, and clamp only one wire. And the clamp is only gonna measure current, so if the lamp isn't working, this probably won't work. If the plag is plugged-in though, there will be a voltage present, so a non contact voltage tester should be sufficient enough to tell you it's live. Please be careful.

Question:	What is the DC current measurment capaility? Are there no specs for this meter other than it can read up to 600v
Answer:	It uses a Hall Effect sensor so the AC rating is the same as the DC rating. This website has the specs that confirms that: https://www.wantitall.co.za/tools/multimeter-tacklife-cm01a-clamp-meter-4000-counts-auto-ranging-digital-tester-with-ncv-ac-dc-voltage__b01n014use I tried it on my motorcycle, and it read the starting current of ~75A fine. The paper manual said the same. I can't find an electronic copy. The Amazon UK site has more info. It shows the range as 40A/400A https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N014CTB HTH.
Question:	Is this meter fast enough to indicate max current draw on the battery cable of a starting vehicle
Answer:	I have used a similar meter to watch the combined starting and glow plug current on a diesel Sprinter. No problem. Since this uses a Hall Effect sensor, instead of routing the 400 amps *through* the meter, overrange current pulses should not be a problem.
Question:	What is the resolution of the current reading
Answer:	While this meter reads to 1 milliamp that doesn’t necessarily mean that it is accurate to 1 milliamp. It drifts quite a bit in the milliamp range. You are given the option to zero it out before taking a reading, but it does continue to drift. It is a marvel that a Hall effect meter that can read DC is offered at this price, but don’t expect +/- 1 milliamp accuracy. I am a physicist by training and at one time worked at Textronix, a premier provider of test and measurement equipment.

Answer:	It not only measures DC current accurately via the clamp but it also indicates the direction of the current. Due to the disagreeing answers on this question, I went ahead and bought it. It works really well for DC current and is going to be be an excellent tool trying to troubleshoot a vehicle battery drain. Just remember that not all clamps measure DC current. Most cheaper meters do not but this one works great for it.

Answer:	I'm afraid not. According to the instruction manual, in the lowest DC current range (60.00A) the resolution is 10mA. The accuracy is +/-(2.0% + 8 digits).

Answer:	Yes this meter and Fluke 324 check capacitance, but the Fluke 324 will NOT check Max amperage nor starting amperage of an air conditioning compressor like this meter does. The Fluke 325 does but is almost $300.

Question:	Can it measures in rush
Answer:	EVIDENTLY some "people" answer, or try to answer questions that they have no fricking idea about what they are talking about.... YES, it DOES measure "inrush", or more correctly, SURGE current. I have found that due to its sensitivity you need to select the high- 600 amp range since it will sense the current spikes that are VERY, VERY short. (IF your are measuring a smaller current, ~2-4 amps, then the 60 amp range will work). ALL you have to do is press the "min/max" button.... IF the 60 amp range does not work at first, then the 600 amp range should be selected.. THIS IS THE REAL ANSWER...... (And NO, you do not have to keep your "eye on it") Scheesh........
Question:	just received order and unit does not show that it is true rms. should it be posted on the item
Answer:	Yes it should be labeled on the outside of the item where it is visible. If the description said it was true rms when placing your order, it should be. But if it's not labeled as true rms after you received order then only 2 things can be wrong. 1st they sent you the wrong item, or 2nd it was a factory erar that accured when the item was manufacturerd . Either or, id send it back and ask for the wright one

Question:	On my 325 I'm not impressed with the backlight which is more of a sidelight with a couple of white LED's on just one side. Is your 325 the same
Answer:	Yes, it is as you describe. Several FLUKE models has backlight coming from right side, causing poor luminance on left side. Other models have a better light distribution on screen. There is no problem with your clamp meter. It's just a design limitation.
Question:	The Fluke 325 spec sheet shows current range as 40A - 400A for both AC and DC. How do you switch the meter from 40A range to 400A range
Answer:	Stephen, you peaked my curiosity so went looking on the Fluke site. It was worthless so got out the unit and tried it on a DC telephone line from a hydronic zone valve to the water heater and it measured .46 amps (probably in milliamps) on the meter. Then switched it to the AC line and clamped around a line leading to a 500-watt work light and it measured .05 amps (which should have been no more than 15A. I think the difference has to do with the base as the DC amps should certainly be less than the AC amps. Anyway it does measure but had to learn how to use it.

Question:	What is the smallest ac and dc current you can measure? Is the dc measurement small enough to hunt down parasitic battery drains in a 12v car
Answer:	It measures to .01amps. I use it for that very reason and suceesfully found a short on a 12v gmc van.

Answer:	Yes. It can test caps. No issue. My problem is it lasted less than a year and started throwing crazy numbers. I wouldn’t buy it again.
