Answer:	A moderate load is important to check AAA, AA, C, D and 9v or any other battery for that matter. The reason is the open circuit voltage check does not indicate if the battery has the Current capability to sustain the nominal 1.5 or 9.0v under a light to moderate load for a brief 1-3 seconds. Even with a loaded test, it does not indicate the remaining Amp Hours. But a loaded test is a quick and easy light weight check and is a step better than not loaded.

Answer:	Yes, you can determine the state of charge ( the terminal voltage) of a 12 volt lead acid battery. I did a quick test a few minutes ago on a spare car battery I have that I charged a few days ago. Using a digital volt meter, the terminal voltage was 12.55 volts, which is typical for a good battery that hasn't been badly discharged, or charged within the last few hours. Using the GTB-500A battery tester, set on the 12 volt range, the needle rested over the first O in GOOD ( upper scale). Putting the meter on the 15 volt range, the needle rested on the " 60%" mark , over the top scale. Since a recently charged lead acid battery can be 13 to 13.5 volts , using the 15 volt scale is safer , and won't overload the meter. I don't know where the meter needle would be if the battery voltage was, say, 13 volts , or a slightly discharged 11.9 volts. Don't try to read the battery voltage while it is being charged , since the terminal voltage can be as high as 14.5 volts. That's where using the GTB-500A for a rechargable lead acid battery gets a bit difficult, since there's no numbers on the scale. Besides determining the current state of charge, often a load test is done to determine if a car battery is good. First, you must attempt to fully charge the battery . Then , a fairly high load of 100 or more amps is put on the battery, and the terminal voltage is observed. That's a test that the GTB-500A tester cannot do , since the load it puts on batteries is quite small, and you still cannot read the exact voltage number. A small digital voltmeter is a better choice for checking the state of charge of a lead acid battery, since you get a number. For a more extensive test, a battery tester with a load capacity of at least 100 amps can tell you if your ( fully charged) car battery is sound, or going bad. Smaller lead acid batteries , such as used for alarm systems and small riding mowers, are tested using a lower amperage load.

Answer:	It does not use batteries. It tests them. Just place the battery, you want tested, according to visual instructions, on the tester and it will show the voltage left in the battery.

Answer:	Don't know if this will help, or will be an answer that will help. The red piece slides easily, no spring loaded piece. After placing the battery between the red slider and edge, it reads the voltage. Used it for AA and AAA and a button battery and worked fine. The 9V you will just hold to the two electrodes on the outside of the checker. I'm not sure if this is what you were asking... the cheecker I had was two electrodes you held, so this one's much better and easier to handle.

Question:	Test result reliable
Answer:	Results are similar between units. I have not tested them against other testers so can’t respond to reliability.
Question:	Why "replace" is such a huge range in the scale and "low" is such a tiny strip? It is confusing
Answer:	Most electronic devices have a “threshold” of voltage, below which the device will not work. It varies by the device. I suspect that point is around 1.2 volts for AA, AAA, C, and D cells. That is probably the “low” point on the meter. Any lower will indicate “replace”. While a small flashlight might continue to operate (dimly) in the “replace” range, most electronic devices will not. If the device has a critical use, I will replace whenever the scale reaches the lower end of the “good” scale.
Question:	Will it check watch battery like cr1620, 2032, etc
Answer:	No! This battery tester is specifically designed to test 9 volt and 1.5 volt AA/AAA/C/D battery sizes only. It will not designed to test watch batteries.
Question:	Is this tester compatible with 3v lithium batteries like the cr2450 and others in this category
Answer:	I would say "No", because the voltage rating for "AAA", 'AA' "C" and "D" batteries is rated at 1.5 Volts (Direct Current). Of course the 'Button Cells' (Watch Batteries) can be tested, yet you must read the 'lower scale' to determine their strength, but then again the 'needle' which is registering the reading is the same needle which indicates for the larger batteries. However, there is a a 9 volt tester on the end of the tester which accepts and test the small square batteries. I can only imagine that there is a special or 'higher' voltage circuit to accommodate that circuit, internally wired. These testers will not accept the new larger style battery, the 18650 rechargeable. May I suggest that you obtain a small cheap 'Voltage Tester'. They are available at Harbor Freight among other 'automotive places Good luck bcg.

Answer:	This tester hleps to check battery voltage and internal resistance, but not test batteries under load, any other problem, pls feel free to let us know via [email protected]
Question:	Will it test a small 6v alkaline
Answer:	They are almost identical in size, they both are just under 4 1/2" from bottom to top, and about 1" from front to back. The Bat-250 is about 2.75" from left to right, where as the bat-200 is about 2.5". Really not a big difference in size at all. But to answer your question directly, no the BAT-250 is slightly larger than the BAT-200.
Question:	Manual states "insert the usb test cable with usb female seat in the bottom of product". what is this? there is no place to plug in any cable
Answer:	The only really significant one - and it IS significant - is that the BAT-250 tests under a stated, useful load, while the BAT-200 tests under only the very, very small load inherent in the tester's circuitry (such as it is.)
Question:	Does this load batteries or just check voltage? or perform some other type of checks
Answer:	Yes, there are four small resistors inside, two each for the 1.5V circuit and the 9V circuit. One resistor is the load and the other limits the current through the analog meter. The effective resistance (load) of the 1.5V circuit is 4.7ohms. The effective resistance (load) of the 9V circuit is 212.5ohms. Measured with a Fluke 17B+.
