Three are necessary clips but in the middle is a shorter rounded protrusion that does the pushing of the switch. With a nail cutter, or small wire cutter, flush cutter or the side of a small file hack off about 1 millimeter of that nub. Make sure the light in on (push the round black pad in the switch) on put this modified switch conve back on and test it to see if you removed enouch of the "pusher" that it will not activate when you push the button. |

Answer: | Although there is an adjustment to light level needed to activate the light, you can't completely override the need for some darkness for activation. The light sensor on this model is inside the sensor head and can't be physically blocked, so the answer is no. |

Answer: | Yes but you have to know how to do wiring. The device will not handle more then 500 watts. So it will also depend on the lights you use. My advice is to go with a LED light source and I did so you never have to worry about the wattage. Also, if the sensor has a locknut with it, screw the locknut onto the sensor, then srcew the sensor into the box or cover a turn or two, using the locknut to put tension on the box or cover so the sensor can be positioned the way it needs to be without being loose. I hope you can make sense out of what I am saying. |

Answer: | I agree with N. Schmidt, Mine worked perfectly with a 60 Watt equivalent LED bulb but when I lowered to 40 Watt equivalent, they stay on, ever so dimly. "Your wiring is probably correct. This happens with high-efficiency LED bulbs - instead of a relay which would be like disconnecting at the wall, this switch works like pinching a garden hose almost but not completely off. Quieter operation but not completely shut off. It's been reported elsewhere in reviews for this product. Since the dimmed LED is only using a watt or so I guess it's not a big deal. Answer: | Any switch will work in the 2nd location. However, if you turn off the 2nd location switch, the sensor remote won't work, until you turn the other switch on. |

Answer: | It doesn’t in my garage. You can adjust the sensitivity. I find that the trigger is more the movement of the IR source that triggers. If I sit in a chair and don’t move for 15 min, the lights go off. If I park a vehicle right in front of the switch the lights will go off after the time out. So static heat source is not a trigger. |

Answer: | Yes definitely. Fluorescent lights are not dimmable so when you have this switch set to anything below 100% it’s not allowing the ballast in the fluorescent fixture to provide enough power to the bulb to function properly. |

Answer: | If you are talking about a 3-way switch setup (where either switch can turn the lights on or off), you can only put one of these on the circuit. The other switch has to be a standard 3-way switch with modified wiring.If you want something where either motion sensor can turn on a light but not necessarily turn it off, that would be possible. In that case you just have to put the two motion sensors in parallel to the light. |

Answer: | The instructions provided are confusing, but the upshot is that you do not wire this motion sensor in a standard 3-way configuration, but instead have to re-wire the other 3-way switch on the circuit. Basically you have to permanently connect the common wire to one of the travelers on the normal 3-way switch. The motion sensor then can detect the state of the other switch, while also continuously getting power itself, and then it can turn the other traveler on or off appropriately to achieve a '3 way switch effect'. It's doing something more clever and complicated than simply being a traditional 3-way switch, but the instructions do no make this clear, and thus are really pretty confusing at first if you are either expecting a normal 3 way config, or are hoping to just install this as a drop-in replacement for an existing standard 3 way switch. |

Answer: | Normally if this type of sensor fails the light will not come on. You can tell if the sensor detects motion by an LED that flashes inside the dome. I would see no reason the unit could not be used in stairwells or egress areas unless a local code requires those areas to be lit continuously. I have also not tried these with any fixtures with battery backup built in. |

Answer: | The best way to keep the light from coming during daylight hours is to install an electric timer in line before the sensor. You can set the timer for the hours that you want the light to operate as the season change you can reset the timer accordingly. |

About PIR Technology
The OSFHU-ITW uses passive infrared (PIR) detection technology via a segmented Fresnel lens to monitor a room for occupancy. This specialized lens divides the field of view into sensor zones. When a person passes into or out of a sensor zone, the sensor detects motion and switches the lights on. The lights will remain on as long as there is an occupant in the room. When the space being monitored by the sensor is unoccupied for the preset time you've chosen, the unit will switch the lights on.
