Contrary to a previous comment in this thread: ALL halogens ARE suitable for dimming, because ALL halogen bulbs ARE incandescent bulbs--enclosed in a sealed capsule, which surrounds the incandescent filament with a halogen gas atmosphere. Question:	This does not work on my 2 living room lamps, but works in all other 8 lamps that I have. Any suggestions on why this is doing this
Answer:	For some reason, the dimmer switch will not work on some lights. Some three way led and florence lights. I do have it connected to a three way led and it will work. It flickers when on low dim, medium and high are good. The electrical plug does get warm if left on for a long period of time.

Answer:	It hardly matters where the plug is. The wire lead on the tapper is extremely long and that is the piece you use to turn it on and off. If it works on lights I have to imagine it will work on a fan, but then I did not use it that way and can not verify that the fan motor is able to engage with less current and provide less definitive difference in performance per degree of current.

Answer:	For OUR household we found the following - BIGGEST caveat for us with this product: For our floor lamp, we had to ensure we had a dedicated outlet (nothing else plugged in) in order for the touch sensor to work/stay on (otherwise, it would flash on, then immediately turn "off"). #2 caveat - For a regular one-way bulb, "dimmer" capability doesn't function - holding finger on the center the first time powers our lamp on, then touch sensor works for off/on. Holding finger on has no dimmer effect, it just powers it off (when lamp is on), or on. Good luck!!
Question:	will this turn light on and off as well as dimming
Answer:	Yes it will! One quick tap and the lights can go on or off. Then, with you holding your finger on the round tap pad, it will dim and brighten to your desired likeness. I will say, there is a slight "hum" that you hear with the Phillips HUE bulbs that are dim-able and that are LED. I am not sure why. It's not very noticeable but there is one. But, yes they will go off and on with you tapping that round pad. I conveniently installed this to my bed side lamps and then added the touch pad on the top oh my headboard. I can turn the light on and off quickly and its nicely hidden on my mocha colored wooden headboard.

Answer:	The wire between the touch pad and the control module is 8 ft. long. It is connected to the control module through a 1/4" male spade connector (like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/400820940497?item=400820940497&vectorid=229466). I suppose you could extend it a couple of feet if needed, but there is likely a length limit.
Question:	How do you hook it up to the lamp
Answer:	The lamp must have a cord that normally plugs into a 110 volt receptacle. You plug the Westek dimmer into a receptacle then plug the lamp cord into the dimmer's receptacle. Touch the round corded disc to turn on the lamp, touch again and the lamp will dim. Do not use flourescent or LED lamps. Bulb must be the old fashond incondescent type.

The electronics in new LED and CFL bulbs do not let 120 volts pass through the bulb to the controller while the bulb is off in the same way.

Answer:	Yes, it will. I have one on a few regular non-touch 3-way lamps. They work great. You just have to have a metal spot on the lamp you can touch to turn it on, brighter and off. I have one on a ceramic lamp and it works there as well but I have to touch the metal part just above the ceramin portion. I have a 50-100-150 bulb in one of them.I don't know if they work with those new bulbs though.

Question:	The receiver looks kinda big. Does it hinder access to one of the outlets in the typical 2-outlet box
Answer:	The switch is independent of any box. The receiver part plugs into an outlet & is a little large. However, if plugged into the upper socket of a 2-outlet box, most of it sticks above the box and does not block the lower socket. One point I must make is that the outlet on the receiver is only for a 2-prong plug and has no ground. I had to use a 3-prong adapter to plug in a grounded plug and ground the adapter to the outlet box.
Question:	How deep is the remote? Do I have to cut a whole in the wall and install a box as well
Answer:	It's about 16 mm thick, not counting the switch lever. No need to cut into the wall to install anything. At most, may have to drill a couple screw holes in the wall, but most just affix with provided double-sided tape. I never attached mine to the wall, just have it sitting on my desk. I've been very happy with it!

Question:	If I order two, how can I make sure they come in different frequencies
Answer:	Turns out this device is the same thing as a DEWENWILS remote wall switch (also sold by Amazon) in a different case. There is a programming procedure for adding another remote that works on this Westek device: 1. Plug the receiver into an indoor outlet. 2. Press and hold the programming button on the receiver until the indicator light begins to flash slowly. 3. Release the programming button and press ON button, then OFF button on your remote. 4. The light stops flashing and keeps on indicate the programming has already been set successfully. I was able to program both switch plates to one plug with the above procedure. Hope this helps everyone!!

Question:	Want to use on my old floor lamp it uses the old large base bulbs, as the are hard to find and expensive when I do will it be blowing these out
Answer:	it works just fine on two of out lights. one is small base ans one is large base old style bulb....I dont see why it would harm any type of bulb....its just reducing the volts to the bulbs by one third.
