Answer:	The power consumption varies depending on the LED strip used and the length. First determine power consumption by looking up the strips wattage or amperage. The dimmer can drive 8 amps at 12 volts. Convert watts by the formula I = W/E, where I is amps, W is watts, E is volts. A 24 watt strip at 12 volts consumes 2 amps. Add up the amperage of each strip, being sure not to go over 8 amps. You can drive up to 8 amps of LED strips with the dimmer.
Question:	Does it stepdown the voltage from 12v to 9v - 5v - 3.3v - 1.8v
Answer:	No. This is a pulse width modulation (PWM) device. It switches the power off and on rapidly to give the dimming effect. So if you feed it 12 volts (for example), it rapidly (thousands of times per second) switches between 12V and 0V output. The position of the knob determines the ratio of "on" time to "off" time.

Answer:	I used it in two cases for household behind a 12v 30 and 60 amp power supplies, respectively. I see no reason why it wouldn't work in your case. It's just a simple rheostat.

Answer:	1.54"L x 1.27"W x 0.98"H. Please have a look at the last product image where you can see all dimensions.
Question:	I need to mount this in 1/4" plywood panels. Product info says the maximum panel thickness is 0.197”. What should I use for a panel
Answer:	Yes, you can use the thicker plywood panel. On the backside of the panel you will need to remove some wood to make the panel thinner in that spot. There are several ways you might do this. 1) Use a spade bit. It will make the center through hole while removing material in a wider circle. This can be "cleaned up" with a sharp wood chisel if necessary. 2) Drill the hole for the switch and then remove the wood on the backside with a Dremel, with a router, or with a wood chisel. Easy!
Question:	How can i dim the out pit of a pair of 12v phillips drl (daytime running lights) the lights came with an auto shut off and turn on module
Answer:	Bulb needs to be incandescent/halogen or dimmable LED. If you want to keep the auto module, wire the dimmer between the module and the bulb. This is a PWM dimmer and it regulates the negative lead. Your auto switch module needs the DC negative to function properly.
Question:	Can I use the vehicle frame to ground the dimmed light, or have to run a Neg wire from Dimmer all the way to the light
Answer:	Depends on what ur using the switch to dim. I used it for my gauges and under dash lights so i used a keyed power source and body ground under the dash to the switch and then ran the hot and ground from the switch to my lights. If ur using it for lights way away from the switch you could try just running a hot wire to them from the switch and ground the lights to the body and hope theres no rubber body mounts that may cause a break in the circuit of the ground. Best bet is if ur running a hot wire to the lights anyway you may as well run the ground too and be 100% sure you have a good ground to the lights.

Answer:	It isn't a motion sensor, rather a dimmer. But as a dimmer it should work as above provided that you aren't exceeding its current capabilities. Guessing here, 3W per foot x 32ft is about 100W. So probably not, since they handle up to 24W each.

Answer:	There is no electrical drain when it is off. It is totally off.
Question:	can the knob be removed and replaced with a different one
Answer:	Yes, the knob pulls off the brass shaft, which is a standard T18 (18 tooth) 6mm diameter knurled (ridged) shaft. A little less than 1/4" diameter. Amazon carries a lot of knobs in that size.
Question:	Specs state 12v. is this max v? i need to use on nominal 14.8v / maximum 16.8v dc system with 4.1a draw. do you make a higher v dimmer
Answer:	It's designed for a standard 12V system. Its operating range is up to 16V.

About Stepless Dimming type:

1.The light is off when connecting to electricity. Click it (time < 550ms) once to initiate it with the light on. Click it again to let it be off. Continue to cycle.

2.The initial brightness is 100% of the maximum brightness.

3.Touch and hold it (time > 550ms) to initiate stepless dimming control. The brightness increases when touching and holding, and stays at the level when stop holding. When holding more than 3 seconds, the brightness reaches and stays at maximum level. The brightness decreases when touching and holding again, and stays at the level when stop holding. When holding more than 3 seconds, the brightness reaches and stays at minimum level. Continue to cycle.

4.Click and Holding Touch can be used anytime. There is no interference between these two functions.

Answer:	I’d say it’s more like splash resistant verses being waterproof. The back where the wires come out doesn’t seem watertight. Whenever I install these in a vehicle or inside of a sailboat I put them in a small weathertight box.

Answer:	No, this will not work as a 3-way switch. Yes, you can have multiple switches on a single circuit if wired correctly.
Question:	Does this product use pwm/ is it compatible with any 12volt led dimmable tape light? also will it have a significant electrical draw in standby mode
Answer:	Yes, UT19T1 touch switch use pwm. It is compatible with any 12volt DC led light. It is about 5~6 mA in standby mode.
