How Do I Install An Outlet?

1. Connect wires per WIRING DIAGRAM.
2. Side Wire: Remove insulation from each circuit conductor per strip gage on device [approx. 4/5" (20mm)]. Loop wires clockwise 3/4 turn around terminal screws. FIRMLY tighten screws over wire loop with the torque force among 14-16 in-lbf.
3. Back Wire: Remove insulation from each circuit conductor [approx. 3/5" (15 mm)]. Insert straight wires under clamps next to appropriate terminal screws. Tighten screws FIRMLY with the torque force among 14-16 in-lbf.
4. Mount device in standard wall box with screws provided and mount wall plate.
5. Restore power at circuit breaker or fuse. Installation is complete.

ATTENTION:

• To prevent severe shock or electrocution always turn the power OFF at the service panel before working with wiring.
• Do NOT install in wet locations or in a location where the receptacle can get splashed with liquid.
• If you are not sure about any part of these instructions, consult an electrician.

1. What is a GFCI

a. A GFCI receptacle is different from conventional receptacles. In the event of a ground fault, a GFCI will trip and quickly stop 

the flow of electricity to prevent serious injury.

b. Definition of a ground fault:

Instead of following its normal safe path, electricity passes through a persons body to reach the ground. For example a defective 

appliance can cause a ground fault.

c.  A GFCI receptacle does not protect against circuit overload, short circuits, or shocks. For example, you can still be shocked 

if you touch bare wires while standing on a non-conducting surface such as a wood floor.

a. Self-Testing Function: Why perform seft-test 20 amp gfci breaker: If you miswired a GFCI,

Question:	Will it work if your home has aluminum wiring
Answer:	Yes but not directly to the device. These are not designed to receive aluminum wire but they can be used with short pigtails of copper wire. (Your homes aluminum wire to wire nut with short piece of copper wire tied to the device)

Answer:	This is a terrible product very low quality
Question:	Why can’t I plug anything into these outlets? What’s the secret to pushing in a plug
Answer:	I’m happy to answer your question as these outlets are a little different than the old style. I’ve installed thousands of the classic style outlets. These are new “child safety” outlets. They have little “shutters that prevent children from poking things in the socket. So first make sure you are plugging in with the correct polarity, the fat lug on the correct side. Second, in order to plug something in, to displace the “shutters”, you have push the plug in with authority as I say. Meaning push straight in with more force than you are used to. You will get used to it. If the above still doesn’t work then it’s possible you have a faulty outlet. I imagine that The child proof “shutters” do add a layer of complexity that can add to the possibility of functional malfunction, but I haven’t noticed that issue yet. I hope this helps.
Question:	Are these stab-in? Or can just the screws be used
Answer:	If the wire in your home is 14 gauge then you can use the stab-in, if an older home with 12 gauge then the screws must be used.

Answer:	of course it works with all chargers if you use the standard outlet. But if you are wondering if directly connecting the USB cable if it supports smart charge, or fast charge, or whatever gimmick name the super duper fast charging is called then the answer is YMMV (your miles may vary). I tried it with my samsung s7 and it did not indicate fast charge enabled. It was faster than normal due to higher amps but not "fast charge" or "smart charge" But if you use supplied charger and plug it in to this outlet it works as normal, but again direct USB wire may not
