Question:	The receiver looks kinda big. Does it hinder access to one of the outlets in the typical 2-outlet box
Answer:	The switch is independent of any box. The receiver part plugs into an outlet & is a little large. However, if plugged into the upper socket of a 2-outlet box, most of it sticks above the box and does not block the lower socket. One point I must make is that the outlet on the receiver is only for a 2-prong plug and has no ground. I had to use a 3-prong adapter to plug in a grounded plug and ground the adapter to the outlet box.
Question:	How deep is the remote? Do I have to cut a whole in the wall and install a box as well
Answer:	It's about 16 mm thick, not counting the switch lever. No need to cut into the wall to install anything. At most, may have to drill a couple screw holes in the wall, but most just affix with provided double-sided tape. I never attached mine to the wall, just have it sitting on my desk. I've been very happy with it!

Answer:	Turns out this device is the same thing as a DEWENWILS remote wall switch (also sold by Amazon) in a different case. There is a programming procedure for adding another remote that works on this Westek device: 1. Plug the receiver into an indoor outlet. 2. Press and hold the programming button on the receiver until the indicator light begins to flash slowly. 3. Release the programming button and press ON button, then OFF button on your remote. 4. The light stops flashing and keeps on indicate the programming has already been set successfully. I was able to program both switch plates to one plug with the above procedure. Question:	Does it work in the dark
Answer:	There is a red led sensor that lights up inside the unit, but it is behind a white mylar window. I've not been able to see it from outside the unit even in the darkest night. Only when the cover is up for testing or adjusting. No one knows it is on my gate pillar where it is hidden. I would definitely recommend this unit. I've had one for 10+ years.
Question:	Could I use this to power off a fan when triggered. and then have the fan turn back on after motion is not detected
Answer:	I'm not familiar with that Model but I can tell you that for $29 you can purchase a HT (Baofeng UV-5R) that you can program to receive the signal from the Dakota Alert unit. The Dakota systems use a common VHF signal that you can pickup with any VHF HT its called MURS frequencies - hope this helps.
Question:	Is there also a light sensor so if you plug in a small LED lamp it will only come on only when the room is fairly dark
Answer:	No. The 3000 Series and MURS are different units and are not compatible.
Question:	How is the sensor unit mounted
Answer:	You can use any brand of VHF high radio if you can set it to the MURS channel(s) and optional tomes of your choice. Ch1 151.820/Ch2 151.880/Ch3 151.940/Ch4 154.570/Ch5 154.600. Channels 1-5 are narrowband on Dakota brand radios. I use BAOFENG UV5R radios, they are programmable and inexpensive. Just be sure to have them programmed correctly to keep it legal.

Answer:	The wire between the touch pad and the control module is 8 ft. long. It is connected to the control module through a 1/4" male spade connector (like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/400820940497?item=400820940497&vectorid=229466). I suppose you could extend it a couple of feet if needed, but there is likely a length limit.
Question:	How do you hook it up to the lamp
Answer:	The lamp must have a cord that normally plugs into a 110 volt receptacle. You plug the Westek dimmer into a receptacle then plug the lamp cord into the dimmer's receptacle. Touch the round corded disc to turn on the lamp, touch again and the lamp will dim. Do not use flourescent or LED lamps. Bulb must be the old fashond incondescent type.

Answer:	Per the web-page description, packaging highlights, and the microscopic included instructions, this dimmer is for "incandescent or halogen bulbs" It works with MY halogen bulbs. Contrary to a previous comment in this thread: ALL halogens ARE suitable for dimming, because ALL halogen bulbs ARE incandescent bulbs--enclosed in a sealed capsule, which surrounds the incandescent filament with a halogen gas atmosphere. Answer:	Soft toe. Good boots man. Tough to find a true fit due to stretching. 10 were too small and 10.5 stretched a bit large. However, best boots by far I have ever owned. Question:	How far down will the light bulb be extended, don't want the bulb to stick out
Answer:	I bought 2 of these and the both died in less than a month. Amazon has a much better deal with these -Philips LED Dusk-to-Dawn A19 Frosted Light Bulb: 800-Lumen, 2700-Kelvin, 8-Watt (60-Watt Equivalent), E26 Medium Screw Base, Soft White, 3-Pack. I really like them because un-like the Westek sensor these work. It is a regular size light bulb with a built in sensor.
Question:	Will your fixture wwork in aan enclosed amber colored glass cover outside? Fixture diameter must fit inside a 3.5" opening. Wjll it fit
Answer:	The diameter of the widest section where the controls are is about 1-7/8 inches. The length when it is screwed into the socket would be about 2-1/2 inches. The bulb you use would stick out from the 2-1/2-inch length of the controller. The diameter of the controller should fit well inside the 3-1/2-inch diameter of your glass cover.
Question:	Hi, will this light control work with 220v-240v or it’s just intended for 110v
Answer:	The package indicates 110V 60HZ. I would NOT try it in a 240V circuit.
Question:	Why isn't the timer feature working. It's recognizing dusk but instead of turning off after 5 hours it's going until dawn
Answer:	Are you sure you're pushing the timer button twice, with the power on (light turned on)? Push once, the light blinks once, push again, it blinks twice; timer now set for 5 hours. The blinks confirm the setting. Do not turn it off. If you turn it off, it resets to the dusk to dawn setting.
