Answer:	I'm not an electrician so I am not sure what you might mean by new plugs being installed upside down. Power outlets in the US are made with one slot wider than the other. This means the plug can only fit in the socket one way, with the wide blade in the wide slot. The plug on these light do not swivel. They are fixed. Now you can turn the light upside down and plug it in but then it would block the other the second outlet. I hope this helps.

Answer:	There is NO on/off button. They come on when it is fairly dark in the location where they are placed. They turn off when there is light in the room. If you want an on/off switch, I bet you could buy some sort of plug with an on/of switch built into the plug. Then plug these night lights into such plug.

We have noticed that the threshold at which the light turns completely off is a little high for some people’s rooms and hallways, depending on where they are located.The amount of light that the Guidelight puts out is designed to increase or decrease slowly depending on the amount of light that is in the room. They should be at full brightness when the room is completely dark and slowly dim as the room gets lighter.Just so that you are aware though, even if the Guidelight is on 24/7, it will only cost less than 10 cents per year to operate and will last for 15+ years!
