Depending on location and the weight of the box + contents you might get away with moly bolts (perhaps just on one side, bolt other side into stud), or surface-mount crossrails that anchor to the studs beneath.

Answer:	The box I installed was inside a trailer. 80% sure the plastic looks like Polyethelyne which is resistant to sunlight. Common plastic on quads and side by sides. I live in the AZ desert. If I suspect a plastic won't hold up, I paint it!

Question:	Is this plastic safe for use with gasoline
Answer:	It is all one box. No separate back plate. The back plate is part of the box. There are just 4 keyhole holes for hanging the box on screws, bolts or whatever. It mounts flush to the wall. It is pretty sturdy. I think because of the pre drilled holes for mounting... they call it a back plate but it's all one box.

Answer:	I didn't have to remove any of the knockouts. They are designed to be removed, I believe prying out the ones you need to remove would be better than pounding, as it's plastic. I used it to house my yard sprinkler timer. Worked good for my application.

Answer:	That is basically what the outside measurement of the box (8" x 6.5"). The door is just a little larger to cover the box (8.5" x 7.5"). The wall thickness of the box is 1/16". Hope this helps you out.

Answer:	Only if there is drainage underneath it because if it rains heavy or a snow melt soaks the ground the water can get up underneath the cover and into the box. The cover is not waterproof from underneath it is only meant to seal it from water falling on top of it. I have 3 of these boxes so I know.If you bury it then you should dig the hole at least twice as deep, fill half of it with coarse gravel for drainage then put the box on top of the gravel...even so I'd be leery of doing it especially if you live in a rainy, snowy place.
Question:	Has anyone painted this? Curious to know if it needs special primer
Answer:	I think people have answered the question (large and medium - 1 in 4 out). What's different about the large and the medium is that the large will more comfortably accommodate more power trips at the bottom. That said, I doubled up a few of the "out" slots with well insulated outdoor extension cords. I checked every week the first two week and they never got hot. I'm sure that's not according to hoyle but it worked for Christmas

Answer:	It might I bought this to hide coax cable on my house but 10 gauge might be too big but you could drill a hole through the box to have the cord go through the hole if it doesn't fit thru the bottom.
Question:	Will this fit in a 2x4 stud wall
Answer:	This is incorrect. Weather proof is not an accepted ingress rating for electrical equipment boxes. This is misleading. Items of this type are considered weather resistant which means normal rains will not enter. But windblown rain is totally different and could (really more WILL) enter the compartment. If you need something that is weather proof you need a NEMA 4 or NEMA 4X enclosure. The following is an excerpt from NEMA itself as published on their website. I find these ads misleading to the general public and am only seeking the truth for buyers. FULL DISCLOSURE: I am a seller of this type of equipment and will never misrepresent the specifications. PLEASE RESEARCH THIS YOURSELF BEFORE BUYING. "Type 4 Enclosures constructed for either indoor or outdoor use to provide a degree of protection to personnel against access to hazardous parts; to provide a degree of protection of the equipment inside the enclosure against ingress of solid foreign objects (falling dirt and windblown dust); to provide a degree of protection with respect to harmful effects on the equipment due to the ingress of water (rain, sleet, snow, splashing water, and hose directed water); and that will be undamaged by the external formation of ice on the enclosure. Question:	What kind of fasteners are used to mount switches to the back plane
Answer:	I recall that it had a Canadian UL Certified stamp on it. I cannot recall whether or not it had a US stamp. For products I use, I am generally as confident in one as I am the other. For code requirements of UL certification, my local jurisdiction accepts both.

Answer:	I roughed up the surface with fine sanding cloth then sprayed it with a Krylon brand spray paint. Still looks good after many months in the Texas sun.

Answer:	Yes it did have an odor but after a week it was gone

Answer:	That’s why I purchased it as well. The openings aren’t offset, but my 50lb dog hasn’t been able to get in. I’m not sure if a small dog might be able to fit. The outer opening is 8.75” wide by 10” tall.
Question:	What size diameter are the cable pass through holes
Answer:	It will, but you will have to leave out the partition. I have 3 cats and 2 of them are larger cats, so I use extra large litter boxes and I just removed the partition and it fits fine.
