Answer: I would not use it as a surge protector or conditioner. While it can make adjustments to voltage by switching to different taps on the transformer it will not save you item from a surge. It is defiantly not a power conditioner since it does not have any power filtration.

If you are not mounting the detector into a wooden surface or a wooden stud underneath drywall then you would have to use a sheetrock anchor to mount the receiving bracket for the detector. Answer: If it's between 7-70v, below 30amps, and a brushed motor, yes. Amp draw is going to be the issue, some trolling motors can draw over 30amps which would blow the fuse and just swapping to a higher rated fuse is asking for trouble.

Answer: I used this speed control in my son's Power wheels. What I did was places the fuse line in Input P+ (P+ and P- are for the wires from the power source, e.g. the battery . Dont concern your self with the fuse line wire color. M+ and M- are the output contacts the wires coming from or going to the moter are connected there. Hope this helps. You can also look up YouTube videos to give you a visual of how to connect the speed control.

Or you could simply go with a stand alone plug in. If you read my review, I would highly recommend against the Kiddie p12040 regardless.
