3 best extension cord with lighted

An extension cord with a lighted feature is a useful electrical accessory commonly used in various settings, including homes, workshops, and construction sites. This type of extension cord comes with built-in indicators or lights that provide visual feedback about the cord's power status. Here are some key details about extension cords with lights:

  1. Lighted Indicator: The primary feature of these extension cords is the built-in lighted indicator. This indicator typically consists of one or more LED lights located on the female end of the cord. The lights illuminate to show that the cord is properly connected and has an active electrical current flowing through it.

  2. Power Status: The lighted indicator serves as a quick and convenient way to determine whether the extension cord is delivering power to connected devices. When the cord is plugged in and functioning correctly, the indicator lights up. If there is a power interruption or a problem with the connection, the light may go out, alerting the user to the issue.

  3. Safety: The lighted indicator enhances safety by helping users identify when the cord is energized. This reduces the risk of accidental shocks or electrical hazards that can occur when working with electrical devices.

  4. Visibility: The illuminated indicator is particularly helpful in low-light or dimly lit environments, such as workshops or outdoor construction sites. It allows users to easily spot the cord and its power status.

  5. Variety: Extension cords with lighted indicators come in various lengths and configurations to suit different needs. They may have multiple outlets or features like surge protection, making them versatile for various applications.

  6. Durability: Like standard extension cords, those with lighted indicators are designed to be durable and withstand regular use. They often feature heavy-duty jackets and strain relief to prevent damage to the cord and connectors.

  7. Usage: These extension cords can be used for powering a wide range of electrical devices, including power tools, appliances, lights, and more. They are especially handy in situations where it's important to quickly verify the power supply.

  8. Outdoor Use: Some extension cords with lighted indicators are designed for outdoor use and are equipped with weather-resistant features to withstand exposure to the elements.

In summary, extension cords with lighted indicators are a practical solution for users who want a quick and visual way to confirm that power is flowing through the cord. They offer added safety and convenience, especially in low-light environments, and come in various lengths and configurations to meet different electrical needs. When using any electrical equipment, it's essential to follow safety guidelines and ensure proper cord management to prevent accidents.

User questions & answers

Question: Where is it made
Answer: Yes, as long as you don't exceed 15 amps. Most professional hair dryers are hand held, so it should not exceed. ( but I would not put 6 hair dryers on it and run them all at once ) If the hair dryer is a floor model with bonnet, then I would check the energy draw. I got this for use with laptops and monitors, and battery chargers.
Question: Can I turn this into a 30 Amp extension cable by putting adapters on each end. This would be to extend a 30 amp car charger cord
Answer: Is it possible you are hearing your phone or tablet making a sound when it goes from using the battery to being plugged in, and that it's not the surge protector beeping since the surge protector isn't designed to beep?
Question: It doesn't list that it is solid copper. is it solid copper wiring? or copper clad aluminum wiring? and is it a full 10 awg specification
Answer: Could it be the electronics you have plugged into it that are making the noise? If not, I would return it, I own 2 and neither make click noises. Does not sound safe!
Question: I just bought a generator for power outages. It says use cord sets that are rated for 125v AC loads at 20 amps or greater. will 15 amp work
Answer: Dear: USB Port supports 3.4A max, but each usb port can be up to 2.4A, so the power strip can not charge 2 ipads at one time by usb ports, it can charge 1 ipad and 1 smart phone at one time Thanks for your queation Bototek

User questions & answers

Question: Is this cord Made in usa
Answer: I'm not sure. However, it's become my favorite extension cord. You won't be disappointed. It works for 12" miter saw and table saw. It's my go to cord.
Question: Hi there, I am looking for a extension cord to plug into my DeWalt Generator 7000, for my air conditioner which is 15A 240 volt AC 3600 W. Thanks
Answer: I'm not using it for 220 line. It sounds to me like too much current is passing through from your 110 volt output on your generator to the air conditioner. I would get a 220 volt extension like you would use for the dryer. I use this cord to run lighting, refrigerator, and gas furnace motors. But not all at the same time.
Question: Would this work for my washing machine my plug is too far away
Answer: I think it could, but you'll have to check the wattage it supports & the wattage your washing machine needs. There are 3 plugs that light on this extension cord, you might have to plug the other 2 plugs that are open. You might also want to contact the company that makes this extension cord to be absolutely certain it can be used for what you need it for.
Question: I need a good all around outdoor extension cord but mainly need for both 2k or my 4k generator 4 my 21' travel trailer w/air, ref. etc will it work
Answer: First off I would strongly recommend that you use only a 12 AWG extension for your trailer. If it is a long extension, say 100 feet or more, I would recommend that you go to a 10 AWG. The reason that you need a heavy gauge extension for your RV is that if you are running an air conditioner the start up current is quite high and the voltage drop on a smaller gauge cord will not allow the A/C to even start as well as not allow the A/C to run efficiently. I am an electrical engineer so I have some knowledge and experience on these things. If you need more help please send another request and I'll be glad to elaborate further. Vic S.

User questions & answers

Question: Does the male/plug in side light up as well
Answer: Gee, I dunno........my cable doesn't have any labeling regarding point of origin or manufacture. My cable has plenty of technical numbers and performance related info stamped into the outer insulation sleeve in addition to two tags (UL), (Use Warning). I did find this info in a pdf file.....Solid Service Platform -We utilize more than 2 million sq ft of strategicallylocated, state-of-the-art, ISO-certified manufacturingand distribution facilities. This national footprint andextensive investment in service systems powers usto deliver more than 70,000 SKUs with a better than97% first-fill rate. Kinda sounds like USA designed/engineered, but made in China.......dunno for sure. What I do know for sure is that this cable is super heavy duty and has performed flawlessly while powering my 15,000 BTU A.C. unit. I have no reservations regarding this cable and would purchased another without hesitation. It certainly doesn't look, feel and perform like a typical Chinese product. If you really must satisfy your curiosity you can always call ColemanCable at 800-323-9355.......good luck!!!! Sorry I couldn't more helpful.
Question: Is it a braided cable? The photo of the plug appears to show this
Answer: The answer to that question depends on whether you are needing to get a full 30 amps at 120 volts from this. There will be a loss and I would recommend that you do a search for "Voltage Drop Table". I just looked at one that stated that 6 guage was recommended for 100 foot runs to keep voltage drop within the 3% range for a 120 volt, single phase circuit. Hope that helps.
Question: This cord gets a little "warm" when using it on my 1500 watts portable radiator. is it normal
Answer: Yes this is a solid copper wiring and its is a fully 10 gauge cord
Question: Will this work for my washer in my laundry room
Answer: 10 gauge cord is rated for up to 30 amps. The plugs are rated 15 amps, which is why this cord is advertised as supporting a max of 15 amps. You could probably push 20 amps ok but don't let any kind of code or safety inspector see it. I wouldn't try pushing 30 amps through the standard 15 amp plugs though. If you are not integrating the generator into house wiring, I would suggest buying two of these cords and using them separately as most generators have two standard outlets each with their own 15A or 20A breakers on them. If you intend to integrate it into the house wiring then you need to use the locking 120/240 plug and get yourself a transfer switch (auto or manual, manual is loads cheaper). For non-integrated use, this oversized cord is good even if you don't use the copper's full 30A rating (only need 14guage for 15A, 12guage for 20A, derate 20% for >3hr continuous use), because it will let you locate the generator a safe distance away from your entrance/window (carbon monoxide fumes) with less voltage drop from wire loss. You may notice a small performance improvement if you also use the cord as an extension cord for high-amperage power tools.
