Question: My flexible duct insulation is falling off. Can I use this to wrap the insulated Mylar duct to hold the insulation in place
Answer: You need the non perforated type to seal ducts. Even then you still need a air gap around the ductwork or the Radiant Barrier will sweat. And you have missing fiberglass just patch the holes with tape make sure it's fully covered and then rewrap airtight with tape and Mastic. Good luck I'm about to undertake the same project myself.

Answer: For best insulatuve results,be sure to create at least a 1 inch air gap between layers.

Answer: You should run this on the very top of your exterior. It must have an air gap to be useful. It should go like this exterior: OSB/Ply/Zip etc. (SHEATHING) *Optional* IF, you're using an exterior insulation then you'd run that (I'm using 1" Rigid Foam XPS). *Optional* Filling my seams around the 1" Rigid Foam using spray foam (in the can). Helping to create an airtight seal. House wrap (Tyvek). This is debatable, some say to run the Tyvek underneath the exterior rigid foam and normally I'd agree. BUT using the radiant barrier it is suggested by almost all manufacturers to ensure your radiant barrier has an air gap and reflects out. *Required* Create your air gap. Using whatever you wish ie. Wood or foam, you make furling strips. I am using a 4' x 8' of the 1" rigid foam cutting that into 2" wide 4ft long strips. Make sure to cut out sections underneath any roof vents and stay at least 6-12 inches away from the wall plates to allow for any soffit vents to access your entire attic space for ventilation. You can simply run the radiant barrier horizontally across the rafters and staple. For the next run, just overlap the previous piece by 2 inches.
Question: For attic installations of Xtreme, which is advertised as breathable, is it necessary to leave an opening along the entire peak for air to escape
Answer: If you have a ridge vent, then yes, you need to leave an opening of 6 inches on either side of the ridge vent at the peak. If you have any other roof vents (turbines) then you need to cut out an opening below the vents to ensure adequate ventilation. The key when installing a radiant barrier to the underside of the roof rafters is to make sure you don't obstruct any existing inlet and outlet ventilation in order for full attic space ventilation.

Any heat radiated up from your house would be lost once it gets above the attic insulation. Heat is what moves and radiates, not cold. A radiant barrier works only when the sun is radiating heat onto your roof. Any one that tries to tell you a radiant barrier can lower your heating bills by XX dollars is either lying or does not understand heat transfer and building science. With that said, a radiant barrier will work well to keep your attic cooler in the summer, during the day, if your roof is exposed to a lot of sun. A thorough air sealing job, well-sealed ductwork, and proper attic insulation will help you be more comfortable and save money in summer and winter, night and day.

Question: Would this work on an unfinished wall in basement instead of using insulation
Answer: It would not provide any insulating value if it is stuck right to the wall. It needs an air space between it and the outer wall to effectively reflect radiant heat . The manufacturer's answer above this is very misleading, and it is not a common application to use this on walls with Gorilla glue spray (Gorilla products are all hype anyway).
Question: Will this keep the heat in my workshop during the winter
Answer: Not exactly. The purpose of this product is to repel heat from spaces where it gets trapped. The barrier does make a noticeable impact on energy efficiency and in that way, it will prevent some amount of heat loss. I recommend insulting over it per manufacturer directions. Answer: It sounds like you would be laying the foil on the outside surface? Unless you have an air gap, i wouldn't recommend it. you will actually make your heat situation worse. The reason for this is because the foil becomes conductive. There are plenty of good posts on this topic. Answer: The foil is mounted not between the rafters, but to the bottom of the rafters. Get a good staple gun and go at it. I am very pleased with the performance of my foil. The way it works is that it reflects radiant heat back out. If it was up against the roof between the rafters it would readily conduct heat right through it. There must be an air gap between the roof and the foil. That is why it is mounted to the bottom of the rafters.

Answer: This material is strong. There is a plastic mess that is difficult to rip and is part of the fabric. I was walking on it when installing my metal roof it never riped and that was with a 5 12 pitch. Prior to using this material my home was always hot in the summer months but lately I turn on my one room air conditioner for the upper floor on around 7:00 pm and it take less than 2 hours to cool it. The other multiple fans are never used anymore. It will work great for the tent.
