As soon as the system came on the fan engaged beautifully, but when the heat reached the fan, the fan blades melted. It is to be used only as a ventilation fan in a cool air system. | Answer: | I got the Vortex VTX1000 (10") which I assume to be similar to the VTX1200 (12"). The blade is a mini squirrel cage fan made of what feels like 20 ga. galvanized. The blade has weight balancers on where required, like your car tires. It came with mounting hardware that attaches to the widest part of the fan with predrilled screw holes and provided metal screws. I had to improvise a bit. I installed the fan partially through-wall so had to re-bend and drill the hardware that is provided. Provide your own screws for wall attachment. Great quality! |

| Answer: | Yes, you can but your fan is not powerful enough, get one fan with the right cfm that you need. 17 x29x10 = 6000 cubic feet about so you should get a fan that is much more powerful. I suggest the vortex v-12xl 2000 cfms cleans room in 3 mins or a vortex v-14xl about 3000 cubic feet per minute cfm cleans room in 2 minutes. |
