Answer:	No problem as long as your exhaust vent tubing reaches an outside source.
Question:	I want to mount this in the bedroom to remove cigarette smoke is this one okay or do i need something different
Answer:	Yes, this would be an effective way to do that. 290 CFM is much, much higher than your standard bathroom fan so you can move a lot of air. I have one of these, although for a different purpose, and it's very quiet for the air volume it moves. Just be sure to have some way of getting air into that room while you use it, through an open window or under a door. It has to pull the new air in from somewhere as it pulls the smokey air out.
Question:	What are the grill dimension? Thank you . Is it 4in or 6in duck work
Answer:	The grille dimension is 12.5" square. A 4" flexible duct from the fan was used.
Question:	Can this be used in a kitchen
Answer:	Bull on some of the answers to this question. It can definitely be used in a kitchen! You should not mount it directly over a stove though! But using it to exhaust the room of smoke as an example is fine. You would have to be cooking with grease all of the time like a restaurant for any build up that would cause a problem. I have used fans like this in kitchens for many years without any problems. Panasonic is going to say it is not a kitchen fan for one because they do not want to get in trouble when you mount it right above your cook top. OK to mount in a kitchen to clear the smoke from the occasion burnt toast or popcorn or bad smell of some cooked foods. NOT OK to mount directly above a stove.

Answer:	Yes. The unit I received included the 4" to 3" duct adapter.
Question:	Is the whole unit suppose to fit inside the 2x6 framing or does part of it sit inside the sheet rock section
Answer:	The Whisper Fit can be installed above or below the drywall. In new construction it is typically mounted to the bottom of the framing. In retro fit (after drywall is in place) it can be mounted so the flange is below the drywall. It is a snug fit for new construction in a 2x6 cavity but it fits. If more depth is desired 3/4" strapping could be added to the bottom of framing.
Question:	Which basic switches (without humidity, timer, motion settings) allow me just to choose among 80cfm, 110cfm, and on/off
Answer:	As Ric mentioned, the 80 / 110 switch is not meant to be switched as a regular option. Despite that, I did as James mentioned, and wired it into a normal wall switch anyway. I placed it right next to the power switch. Works fine.

Answer:	Not sure exactly what your asking.. but .. it has a single, 6" intact duct, long enough to attach a 6" diameter duct to. It also has the same diameter discharge duct. In my installation, I used 6" insulated duct, and it worked well. NOTE: this unit DOES NOT SUPPORT variable speed SWITCHES..

Answer:	No, it does not have continuous flow. It has a senor to movement and also humidity. Living in California it’s sometimes kicks on for no apparent reason. I can hear it in my master bathroom and I am a light sleeper but it’s not annoying... yet... lol. I think it is a little louder than a ‘wisper’ Though

Answer:	If your definition of IAQ is Indoor Air Quality, yes this fan will affect it by taking the moist or odoriferous bathroom air out of the bathroom. The make up air from the rest of the dwelling should be of lower humidity and will help dry out the space to prevent mold. Remember, a bucket of air out, you need a bucket of air in. The make up air has to come from somewhere. The four P's of indoor air quality are Path Pollution Pressure People. You need to control the air path towards people by controlling the pressure or pollution. Using a bathroom fan creates a negative pressure pathway. The EPA website has lots of information on this.

Question:	Just installed. does anyone experience an 8 second delay before the fan starts and slow getting up to speed? not quiet. should i exchange
Answer:	It’s probably your switch, rather than the fan. No delay on mine. Yes, they are not as quiet as advertised. It’s not loud, but way above a “whisper.” The smaller version may be much quieter, but wasn’t large enough for my needs.
Question:	What does the "DC" mean
Answer:	DC stands for direct current. That's what makes the fan so quiet. One thing to note, since the fan is DC, there is a ten second delay before the fan actually come on. It works great though.
Question:	My install will be a retrofit. Can this be installed with no attic access
Answer:	Per Panasonic, if you already have a fan installed and a switch in the wall to turn that fan on and off, this will help with the install. This model does have the Flex-Z-Fast bracket to assist with install without accessing the attic. Depending on the size of the unit you are removing, you may need to cut a larger hole in the ceiling. The base of the fan is 10-1/4“ x 10-1/4”. Keep in mind, this model takes 6” duct, so depending what size duct the previous fan had, you may need to install 6” ducting to use this fan. The included installation manual will help provide further instructions for retrofit installations.
Question:	Can this fan be used for replacement vs new construction
Answer:	I purchased this fan to replace an existing fan and I found the installation could have been a simple retrofit, but this model requires 6” ducting for proper operations. I made this ducting a part of my replacement as the previous fan was not properly installed. I will be purchasing a few more of these fans to install along with the appropriate duct and wall cap products. The fan includes an easy-to-install “Flex-z” bracket that makes this potentially a simple retrofit. The hole for the box is specked to be 10.5” square for “new” construction or 10 7/8” for replacement. I cut the hole for 10 7/8” and feel I could have made it the 10.5 “ size and still have made this retrofit work.

Answer:	The tread dimensions are 12 1/2" x 3 1/2"

Answer:	It cannot easily be setup to come down from the top. Door opens easily enough but the latter movement is almost impossible to extend. It’s not impossible but a special tool would have to be made.

Answer:	This fan model is equipped with Plug ’N Play receptacles that will accommodate customer needs including Multi-speed with time delay, Motion Sensor, and Condensation Sensor that can be purchased separately on this model.
Question:	When you add the motion sensor, does it just boost fan speed when there is movement, or can it also serve as an on/off
Answer:	The motion sensor will boost the fan speed when activated and will not control the on/off function of the unit.
Question:	Can this fan be connected to a 4" duct
Answer:	You can but 6" will be most effective one, if you have 4" duct then better get Panasonic 110 CFM model, why get 150 CFM when you cannot effectively use it.
Question:	How many amps does this unit draw when running? Also how many watts
Answer:	The FV-1115VK2 WhisperGreen Select fan, 110-130-150 CFM power consumption(Watts) is 110 CFM=6.9, 130=9.2, 150=12.9; Energy Efficiency (CFM/Watt) 110 CFM=16.0, 130=14.2, 150=11 and Current (Amps) 110 CFM=0.08, 130=0.10, 150=0.14.

Answer:	If you paint it make sure not to plug the vent holes to ensure proper air flow.
Question:	Is it normal for it to take 22 seconds to start
Answer:	It depends on what type of switch that you installed. I have a Panasonic FV-WDCD01 switch and the delay is around 10 to 15 seconds.
Question:	Does this fan have a timer so that you can set it to run for thirty minutes and it will go off automatically
Answer:	You'd purchase a timer that installs in place of an electrical switch on your wall. I suggest running 2 pairs of wire from the switch to the fan in case you intend to use the extra modules (always on, humidity sensor, etc., sold separately) that require the fan to have constant power.
Question:	Does this fan have built in multi speed and run continuously at low speed
Answer:	NO, This unit DOES NOT HAVE the "Whispergreen Multi-Speed Module" in it. I used my old one in this new one to have a whole house fan. The motion detector is nice too. When one enters the room, the motion detector automatically speeds up to high speed with no other action required. The fan slows to whole house mode after a pre set time.

Answer:	You can do either. I did 4 and the flow is strong and silent.
Question:	does it have a damper to prevent back flow of air
Answer:	yes it does
Question:	How is the speed adjusted
Answer:	There is a switch located on the fan housing to select either 80 or 110 CFM. You would make the selection at the time of fan installation.
