Question:	Does anyone know how to get a replacement shade
Answer:	You don't need a shade that comes from the manufacturer. If you unscrew the finial in the center, that holds the domed shade to the device, you can take the dome to Home Depot or Walmart, etc, and get another that will fit. Barring this, if your dome shade was accidentally broken, if you measure the circumference of the metal, oil rubbed area in which the shade sits, you should be able to find a standard sized replacement, frosted glass domed shade, which will fit. Answer:	I had a similar issue. It was the size of the light bulbs that caused the problem. You have to use a small bulb to allow the glass cover to fit.

Answer:	I "painted" all the metal with a clear rubberizer coating spray as it does tend to rust after a year of two, so I bought a new one and sprayed it before installing. That worked great. I don't think paint would be any different. That said though, I am on my third in 6 years in our master bath that gets alot of use due to rust issues ( which prompted me to rubberize the last one. Too bad it's not stainless...

Answer:	It does not, but we replaced the high-wattage bulb they included a low watt, low lumens LED bulb.

Answer:	I would say no. Definitely not overkill. To be honest we are a bit disappointed with the heat output. We have a bathroom / closet area that is a bit larger than yours and this fan does not heat it very well.

Answer:	It is quite a bit louder than using the 6 inch. It also will not perform as good with the smaller adapter. I switched to the 6 inch and the fan is super quiet and even with the hottest shower it keeps the mirror from fogging up and everything feels dryer.

Question:	how much electricity does it cost to run
Answer:	I installed this replacement approximately 10 years ago. I remember that I had a NuTone 695 but I do not remember the cfm. The unit has worked fine all these years although it is somewhat noisy.
Question:	Is the heater energy efficient and does it heat well enough to tell a difference
Answer:	If you buy this replacement model C350BN. The motor and plate come attached together. On my old unit there was one or two screws that held the old plate/motor assembly into the ductwork portion. Remove the screw(s). I still had problems getting it out because when they plastered the ceiling, they plastered slightly over the plate. I had to break that plaster away to get it to drop out of the ceiling.
Question:	Can you use a regular light bulb in this instead of the 120W
Answer:	Just unplug from the built in receptacle. May be a sheet metal screw to take out. Pull that end down, opposite end has tabs. take out and reverse the order to install the new motor. No need to replace the can assuming it's still OK.
Question:	How many sq feet can this effectively hear
Answer:	Note that Nutone models have sub-models that take different parts. One must be sure of the full model designation, and the parts that will work with that model This (C350BN) replacement assembly works with the 8" X 7-1/4" housing version of the 696N, and not with the 7-1/2" X 7-1/4" Version. The 696-R02 B Model is the smaller size, and so this replacement assembly will not work. One has to use the 690NT (also called just 690) which has both adapter plates, a new grill, the motor and the fan. Question:	how difficult is the install without a preexisting fan
Answer:	There are two metal mounting brackets on the fan that mount to the structure with screws. A 3" flexible duct runs from the fan to a wall or roof cap. Two adjustable 3" metal screw clamps are required to hold the 3" flex duct to the fan & cap. An electrical circuit is required to power the fan & it requires an on-off switch. This requires a moderate amount of skill.

Question:	what CFM does this fan have
Answer:	The same as any other type. This unit is good because you can wire each circuit separately for light / fan / heater. Best way to keep it economical is to put a proper timer on the heater unit, and switched on the light. I put a 30 minute timer on mine and found generally in cold winter 15 to 20 minutes of use was all that was needed. The heater will heat a bathroom up very fast, even in winter; totally worth the few cents for each use. Very little for light / fan / night light. The cost for electricity is in any unit is heater, and they are similar as long as the heater can be wired separately of the lights (which not all units are pre- “wired for)
Question:	How far below the deck plate is the lowest point of the motor
Answer:	Easy answer first, the thing heats like a jet engine! I completely loved it - had an older house with a bathroom sharing two walls with attic of the lower floor (split level house) In Cold Weather climate and this would warm a normal bathroom (with tub) from 60 to 75F in the time of a normal shower, with the vent fan running too exhausting moisture. I put in a 30 minute max timer - and the most I ran it was ~15 or 20 minutes and only in winter. The vent fan is as efficient as any other fan. It is as efficient as any electric heater (100%), which is considered "poor" compared to say a heat pump, but as much as you'll get for an electric heater. But you only run this unit while showering, so maybe 2 - 4 times a day, only 15 minutes each time, and only 1/2 of the year; so Maybe 150 hours a year; so like 200 kWH @ 14 cents average in the US gets you $28 a year to run.

Answer:	What do you mean by “regular light bulb”? Manufacturers should just say the base type. The “bulb base” Is the standard A15 - capable of, I believe, 1 amp - thus 120 Watt When at 120 Volt. I of course use LED bulbs, of correct base / type, At 10 watts or so. Hopefully this is clear - in that any appropriate 120 volt bulb that fits will work fine when correctly wired.

Answer:	The deck plate has a folded edge all the way around it that is 3/8 to 1/2 inch, the motor doesn't really stick down past that.

Answer:	Broan makes way too many motor types to assume they are interchangeable. If it fits correctly go for it...there is nothing super unique about the motor itself, the only changes are the anchor points and sometimes the shaft made to go out the other side of the motor. Many Broan replacement parts are made to replace multiple fixtures, but by the same standard no matter what you try, there are replacement parts that cannot be made to replace others as well....not if your time has any value anyway. If uncertain, call Broan customer service directly, I have done so many times and they are super friendly and knowledgeable and will tell you the exact part needed...it is very painless and more likely than not less frustrating.
