Intelligent Controller

Answer:	I just tried it because of your question, yes it does, but I think you're asking about a timer situation, I would say that you shouldn't bother with a timer, the reason to get this fan over others is the programmability, this thing self adjusts its own speed based on the high/low temp and the high/low humidity that you enter, the power used to run it is very small.

Answer:	Get a 6inch intake fan also and it will equalize the pressure. I won’t buy anything from Vivoson all junk. Get a real inline fan from any other company would be better. I can hear my fans 30 feet away outside my house they get super loud. Total junk. And I thought they were quiet lol. Took about 2 weeks before the bearing started to go out. Answer:	it will remove the smell, however when you open your grow space door you will smell the Mary J, just not as loud as you would if the scent was just trapped in there

Answer:	Great question because the brace does not work. I McGrubered the crap out of my set up....probably an easier way than duct tape, lift hooks, bungees, and adding weight to the back of the filter by another hanging object I have to ensure to does not come apart. So far, working...also, have to duct tape with hose to the fan...that brace did not stay in place.

Question:	Can this fan be used as a dryer vent booster
Answer:	I would not recommend putting any fan in a dryer vent. Dryers don't catch all the lint and the rest blows out the vent. That lint is often somewhat sticky, particularly when fabric softener is used. A fan would create a place for all that lint to stick and it would quickly become covered. If you attempt it, make sure you can easily remove the fan for cleaning. Also it might be a fire hazard as the motor might expect a certain amount of air flow for cooling and the lint could plug that up causing it to over heat. The lint would then be excellent tinder. Ideally for your application a boost fan would not provide an obstruction to the air flow and would work on the venturi effect. Basically injecting high speed air at the edges to speed up the larger volume of flow in the middle. I don't think anyone makes such a fan however. The only example I can think of is the fan make by Dyson and sold as "bladeless" though it really has blades in the base. It is designed for another purpose however and cannot be used in your duct. I presume this is a gas dryer. Due to the hazards of it not venting properly, the best thing to do is probably to find a way to cut an exit hole closer to the dryer and use a shorter vent pipe. Electric dryers can be vented indoors thru a filter box that catches any remaining lint. That will increase the indoor humidity though.
Question:	Can this fan be used to draw radon gas out of my basement if exhasted outside
Answer:	I am using this for a radon fan. The radon numbers were in the 60s before the fan. After installing it, we have dropped down to 2-7 range. I'm going to add a second one and forgot get the binders to the same area of 0-2.

Answer:	Hi Nikki!Thank you for your inquiry.We usually do not recommend bringing out door air directly into the house, it has to be conditioned first and its often better to just recirculate air. Depending on the amount of airflow you were looking for, that would be the determining factor. These units move quite a bit of volume of airflow and are primarily used in filtering or moving air from room to room. You would have absolutely no problems operating this unit in a room-to-room or exhaust fashion! Question:	What is the CFM, wattage, and decibel level
Answer:	To help alleviate confusion, wanted to chime in here to say the answer posted to this question is outdated from an OLD model. This product has had two improvements since... one is that the fan is now running on a 24v motor, and the CFM is now measured at 205 (improved from a 12v motor at 152cfm). As for noise, I don't think the decibel rating has changed as it is still quiet. The second improvement is much more recent (Decemenr 2018) and was made to the controller unit which now includes humidity control as well as temperature.

Answer:	You can, however, with just 200 CFM of air movement you may want to just keep it on full. The motor will make more humming noise if you use a speed controller to decrease speed. I found it makes less noise on full than it does if you decrease the speed which increases motor hum noise considerably.

Answer:	It could be the fiber washers need replacing. The fan can be easily disassembled. I like to use 3 in 1 oil on all metal contact parts (sparingly). Just like any machine, these need proper maintenance. Be sure to DISCONNECT POWER before doing anything.

Answer:	The back of my unit gets hot. Too hot to place on a wall. I cannot hold my hand for more than a few seconds. I suggest before hanging it on a wall, allow it to run at 1500 overnight and try feeling the back. Apparently the units vary.The unit is not designed to produce heat on both sides, just the front.

Answer:	Yes, I installed in a 16 inch opening that used to be a swamp cooler, with a weather proof bell on the roof. The vents open more than 1/2 way on high speed and it draws air in from any windows I open. It is not any noisier than a room fan, T.V. & conversations are easily heard. I do not use the speed controller, just installed a plug in the shaft and use an Alexa receptacle to turn off & on. 2x4 frame & long screws keep it secure & vibration free.

Answer:	The mfgr. specs say that this fan draws 1/5 amp when on. So wiring 2 fans to any 15 amp circuit/breaker is fine. I have 2 of these wired to one single 15 amp breaker /wire or power cord.

Answer:	"loud" is hard to quantify. I'm using this as a window fan, and I'd rate it a little less noise than the typical 20" box fan on high. However, it moves much more air than the box fan. The speed controller that comes with the fan will make *more* noise because it causes the motor windings to ring. I find it very annoying and prefer to run the fan without the control. Answer:	Watt are equal to Volts x Amps, so Amps are equal to Watts/Volts. Wall outlets in the U.S. are at 120 volts. Hence if the heater draws the rated wattage, 750/120 = 6.25A on Low and 1500/120 = 12.5 Amps on High.
Question:	are these reversible? any way to wire these to switch direction
Answer:	Yes and no. The unit produces X amount of heat for either high or low setting; you can't change that. The thermostat only controls run time. If you move air through it faster, the air coming out will be less warm. So for example... Say the air coming out is normally 90 degrees. If you speed up the air flow, then the air coming out might only be 70 degrees. In theory, you could "tune" the system with a small fan to get faster circulation of 80 degree air. You'd have to find a fan size and speed that gives you the results you are looking for. As already stated by others, a ceiling fan on low will get the warmth off the ceiling and push it down for better overall circulation.

Answer:	I don't think it would be advisable. Dryers produce a lot of dust and lint. Some of that gets through the filter and into the vent system where it could coat the fan and motor creating a fire hazard. That said, if you have a fairly long vent run and would be religious about making sure the motor stayed clean it could help exhaust air from the dryer.
Question:	Does this fan shut off by itself if the air conditioning or heating is turned off
Answer:	Not as it's supplied. If, however, you rigged a relay that's triggered by your thermostat with this fan connected to the relay then it could do what you're asking.
Question:	Can a fan speed controller be used with this
Answer:	Yes. If you purchase a fan speed controller, you can detatch the power cable and connect one.. as long as you follow electrical safety.. ie.. voltage, wattage, surge protector. With minor electric knowledge it can easily be done.
