Question:	why is the fan humming and not blowing air
Answer:	The fan only switches mode after a quick on/off. I usually leave it in the auto mode, first turned on. It will speed-up as the humidity rises and later slow down or even shutoff if the humidity gets low. If you want it to run full speed just give it a quick on/off.
Question:	Is this fan a plug in or hard wire to a light switch
Answer:	The ceiling opening is 10"x10". It fits in between standard 16" on center joists. We love the humidity controlled feature. Why aren't all units like this? Just makes sense.

Device Controls

The Leviton IPHS5 features three user-friendly adjustable settings for customized control to suit the specific ventilation needs of the room.

The Sensitivity adjustment can be adjusted to low, medium or high. This will determine at what level of humidity the fan will automatically turn on. For example, when set to 'high' the sensor is highly sensitive to the change in ambient air and will activate the fan at the earliest signs of humidity. On the 'low' setting, it will take a higher level of humidity in the air for the sensor to respond and activate the fan.

The Time control can be adjusted to set the minimum ON time of the fan. It can be set for 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes or 45 minutes.

The Humidistat control has a dual function. It is used to turn ON the air cycle mode or to adjust the humidity range set points which set the minimum humidity level at which the fan will automatically operate.

Installation Recommendations for Bath Fan Control

- It is recommended that in large spaces the IPHS5 humidity sensor and Fan Control be placed within close proximity to the shower/tub (steam/vapor source) to most effectively measure/monitor for excess humidity.

- Ceiling heights in excess of 8 feet may affect the sensors’ ability to properly detect shower/tub steam.

- The sensor requires a closed room to properly operate. Opening a door during operation may temporarily interrupt the operating cycle.

- Changes in season may affect operation of the sensor due to ambient air temperature and humidity. Please review the sensor instructions for sensitivity and humidity adjustment if required.

Question:	Can this be operated with just a single-pole light switch? Or does it require multiple switches
Answer:	Yes, one switch is fine. I have two installed. First floor bathroom is controlled by one switch -it controls everything (so low speed fan and light come on together and humidity will kick in a higher speed only when switch is on). The upstairs bath (used more for showering) has 2 switches, so a separate light (able to dim it) and fan function switch, but again humidity function only works if fan is on (I set to low speed default). I guess to use all 3 functions separately it should have 3 switches, but I installed with pre-existing wiring and wasn’t paying to upgrade my wiring. I used what we had and yes, it functions fine for me. Personally I love them, they are super quiet and work awesome!!!
Question:	I don't have access to the attic. Can this be installed from below
Answer:	No, it cannot. This fan is designed for new construction, to be installed before the drywall is put up. Certain features of the housing make this unsuitable for retrofit. For example: The exhaust duct outlet is installed external to the housing. You really need attic access to connect the exhaust outlet. Otherwise you'll have to fish it by hand from below through a roughly 5" x 5" opening after the housing is installed and blindly guide it back into its brackets. The hanger bar brackets (external) and the exhaust outlet brackets are as wide as the face flange. So you'll need to cut a hole as large or larger than the face flange then caulk/great stuff to seal the gap. The joist mounting bracket are very strong and cannot be bent by hand. You"ll have to cut them off and then drill new mounting holes inside the housing. There are other fans available that are much better for retrofit applications.
Question:	Is this rated for use over a shower if on a GFCI circuit

This is a known issue by Delta, and they are working to design a timer for the unit. The fan amperage is so low that the a switch does not recognize the draw. The fan just cycles and never gets up to speed. The fan is also a bit louder than I anticipated. Nothing I can't live with, but a bit noisier than I thought it would be. The LED light on the unit is great! We are very happy with the warm light that is puts out.
Question:	I installed the 80cf with led (no humidity sensor). when turning it on it starts slow and then takes 5ish seconds to reach full speed. is that normal

Answer:	The bottom half of the front faceplate is the switch. You just gently push it in to turn it off or on with the switch, and yes it goes off after the set time. As far as turning it on easily, you will see several reviews that note you should mount this fairly high on the wall for the sensor to work well. I mounted mine so the bottom of the faceplate is at about 6 feet and it picks up moisture from our shower within a minute or so. Neither my wife or I have problems using the manual switch at this height, but obviously you need to mount it at a height you can comfortably reach.

Answer:	I don't know but it would be diminished well over 100% in air flow, and it's not designed for that pipe. Pi x 2"(squared) = 12.5 square inches. Compare that to the cross sectional area of 6" pipe: Pi x 3(squared) = 28.26 square inches. That's a 126% increase cross-sectional area. I had cheap pipe too; these pipes will accumulate dust and plastic exhaust pipes no longer will pass building codes. Do it right and you will be glad you did. Usually an Easy Task: Just pull the 4" pipe out from the outside opening. But DO NOT, pull it out until you go and buy metal flex 6" pipe of the correct length. I duct taped my new pipe very securely with the old plastic pipe in my bathroom. You will be using the old plastic pipe to drag your new pipe into place. I had about 20' length to replace in my case. It worked fine until I hit a snag with a nail most of the way thru. I was able to take a 10' length of PVC pipe and use it to nudge the new vent pipe into a better position to slide and continue to fish thru the full length. Buy 10 or 20 feed of extra 6" flex metal pipe. In case you damage some of it while fishing it thru your corridor. This way you can keep pulling it out until you get an air tight section from end to end. If you will use a generous amount of high-end duct tape to join your pipes securely, this method works very well. I would not attempt this with low quality duct tape. There is a huge difference in strength and adhesive.

By the way, the fan draws 2.4 watts on 50% slow speed, and 11.5 watts on the highest speed (measured). The blue LED is on in the automatic mode.If you want to force the fan into the highest speed without regards to the level of humidity, simply apply power to the "mode" circuit. This is an isolated circuit from the main power circuit, and powers only an opto isolator for control purposes. Answer:	NO, This unit DOES NOT HAVE the "Whispergreen Multi-Speed Module" in it. I used my old one in this new one to have a whole house fan. The motion detector is nice too. When one enters the room, the motion detector automatically speeds up to high speed with no other action required. The fan slows to whole house mode after a pre set time.

One fan, multiple CFM airflow choices: 5 different airflow settings- 80-90-110-120-140 CFM- may be pre-set with an adjustable switch located on the fan body. The integrated humidity sensor allows you to preset the relative humidity level (RH) in the bathroom. When the sensor detects an increase in moisture and condensation, it automatically switches the fan on to help remove unwanted moisture. Question:	Can this fan be wired directly without a wall switch or separate motion sensor? I do not want a switched fan, motion sensor only
Answer:	The buld is not replaceable as the LEDs are integrated into the circuit board. And unfortunately the lighting color is so bad that I've turned it off completely. I'd pick another product if lighting is important factor.
Question:	How do we contact manufacturer aero pure regarding warranty for vsf110dmh-sw adjustable speed bathroom fans? installed & it doesn't work
Answer:	Its wired separately but the product is not dimmable.
Question:	Per the product description "air flow capacity: 110 cubic feet per minute." but it also has a 140 cfm setting. so what is it
Answer:	I'm no electrician, but I would sure think an inside the shower install in the ceiling would work just fine. Ours is in the ceiling between the shower and the toilet. That way it ventilates for both.
Question:	What is the noise rating on the fan
Answer:	Light silver and it is plastic. I returned the item. Looked cheap.

Question:	can it be used in a 3 way circuit
Answer:	I bought and installed two FV-0511VQCL1 fans along with the Panasonic WhisperSense 3-way switch (bought separately) this past week. Please note that there were NO red wires in the units I received. There are Fan wires (black & white) and light wires (light - black wire, Nite light blue wire, white wire common) and a green wire for ground. The electric wiring diagram in the installation manual is correct, but does not clearly explain that the fan must have CONTINUOUS power for the motion sensor / automated humidistat / timer to function properly. The on-line support, Youtube videos and other blogs were not helpful for this specific unit. The hook-up is fairly simple with the 3-way Panasonic switch, but you must wire the unit so that the fan has continuous power. You then wire the 3-way switch per the wiring diagram in the manual which is straight forward. Note that you will need to run two extra wires from the switch for the light and nite light). When wired in this manner, the fan will operate automatically via the motion sensor / timer / humidistat when the fan switch is in the off position. The fan works manually if you turn the fan switch to the on position. The light and night light work manually through the switch control. Hope this helps as the installation instructions were not clear.

Question:	I would like to use this in the place of a two switch plate that controls the ceiling light and fan that are separate. Will this work? Thanks
Answer:	Within the fan itself. a toggle switch on the housing body.
Question:	will a standard rectangular opening switch plate fit it? (ie: can I put it in a 4 gang box with 3 other switches and use a regular 4 gang cover
Answer:	You can use both at once. I have mine set up that way. Runs until humidity is below the set threshold, turns back on when someone entered the bathroom.
