Answer:	Yes but you have to make one. I used blue foam insulation board . I cut a circle in it the diameter of the hose and then taped a filter on if from a house heater...HVAC filter. The fans are amazing. I own two of them for my painting company. But on high they are a little on the loud side. Very solid construction.

Answer:	Lead does not vaporize or generate "fumes" at soldering temperatures. The smoke generated when soldering is vaporized flux. If you've ever been to a concert, bar or nightclub where cigarette smoking is permitted you've subjected your lungs to far more toxic particulates. All the same, get some kind of fume extractor because all kinds of airborne particulates are bad for you. Just don't kid yourself that they are absorbing lead "fumes" when you solder! You'll get far more lead into your system by handling solder, not washing your hands after, then touching your mouth or nose areas.

Question:	Can you use the fan without the thermostat feature? I don't want it going on and off all night long
Answer:	I think the other replies were with older models? I just purchased this model and there's no issue with opting out of the thermostat feature. As noted in the instructions, to get to continous air flow, you just keep clicking the button through the modes (first you click throught the various thermostat temperatures, and then you get to "high" or "low" as options. If you click high or low either one will stay on continously. Both options are extremely quiet. It sounds like the person who had a louid nose on the low setting had a defective fan.
Question:	I want to use this in a stand-alone one room dance studio with only one window. If it's very hot outside, will this really keep it cool inside
Answer:	It’s not an AC unit so it will only be as cool (or slightly less hot) as the air from the source. That being said you could use this fan on Exhaust to suck hot air out and use a tower fan to create a breeze in the room. But to cool a room on a 90+ degree day, I’d recommend a window AC. This fan will circulate air tho, so it’s not a bad place to start.

Answer:	This is our second window fan. I don't remember what brand/model etc our first fan was, but the CFM WAS WAY higher than this Holmes fan. My assumption is by lowering the maximum fan speed & thus drastically lower the CFM, they can advertise the fan as being quieter and using less energy. ***We have used this fan for 2 years and we DO NOT recommend it if you are looking for a high CFM (volume) fan***

Answer:	I’ve been using an older version of this fan for about 20, yup, 20 years. I use it in a garage studio. Sometimes it runs for months 24/7. It’s slowing down, tons of dirt and mysterious things on it. While it is exhaling i spray wd30 on it till it speeds up again, lol. I have absolutely punished this fan. But like I said, I run it all year, summer and winter. One side died about 4 years ago, but the other is running as we speak. The reason I saw this is because I was looking to see if they still made it. Yay they do; and it is very quiet. Next paycheck I’m getting a new one. I love the intake exhaust function,brilliant! So happy they’re still available. Can’t go wrong, and not a lot of money.

Answer:	You can, however, with just 200 CFM of air movement you may want to just keep it on full. The motor will make more humming noise if you use a speed controller to decrease speed. I found it makes less noise on full than it does if you decrease the speed which increases motor hum noise considerably.

If you would like to flip the fan from exhaust to intake (where the air from the fan is being sucked into the front of the plate), then you would need to follow these instructions for flipping that fan unit (see below): 1. Remove the screws on the front face plate. 2. Remove the screws on the fan cover 3. Place all addition pieces off to the side 4. Flip the fans 180 degrees 5. Re-install the guards 6. Re-install the front face plate 7. Re-install the fan cover located on the back As for the wiring of the fan unit, this is not designed to be rewired to make the fans spin any other direction.
