Answer:	The 8661 is an oldie but a 'goodie'! The 8664RP is the suggested replacement. Please note, the 8661 had a round housing. The 8664RP is square. The old unit is not compatible with anything in the line today. It must be completely removed and replaced. Question:	Can you paint the metal part
Answer:	The outer ring is plastic. I’m sure you can paint it. That said, it’s very noisy, and not as effective as I had hoped. In hindsight, I’d choose another.
Question:	how do you get to the bulb to replace it
Answer:	Grab 2 sides & pull down gently. It'll come down a few inches and you'll be able to see inside, including the bulb. There are 2 spring loaded clips located across from each other. Squeeze each clip together & they'll pull down thru the small opening of the unit. Suggest you do one side first, then the other so you don't drop it. Once you get the hang of it, it's a fairly easy process.

I think it may be best to contact the manufacturer to ask what temperature threshold it is configured to turn on. I was able to find more information on the HEAT SENTRY system at Broan's Website in the instructions manual on page 3. Answer:	Yes,the ceiling exhaust vents that come with the package do have vents that close. With installation with flexible, insulated ducting you have to be sure the ducting does not bind the flapper. It would help if the top of the duct was a little higher so there would be enough clearance to prevent binding. You can remove the cap from the vent and stick your hand up to push any interference back to allow the flapper to move freely. Also, the attic exhaust vent should also have a flapper to help close down drafts.
