Question:	how difficult is the install without a preexisting fan
Answer:	There are two metal mounting brackets on the fan that mount to the structure with screws. A 3" flexible duct runs from the fan to a wall or roof cap. Two adjustable 3" metal screw clamps are required to hold the 3" flex duct to the fan & cap. An electrical circuit is required to power the fan & it requires an on-off switch. This requires a moderate amount of skill.

Question:	what CFM does this fan have
Answer:	The same as any other type. This unit is good because you can wire each circuit separately for light / fan / heater. Best way to keep it economical is to put a proper timer on the heater unit, and switched on the light. I put a 30 minute timer on mine and found generally in cold winter 15 to 20 minutes of use was all that was needed. The heater will heat a bathroom up very fast, even in winter; totally worth the few cents for each use. Very little for light / fan / night light. The cost for electricity is in any unit is heater, and they are similar as long as the heater can be wired separately of the lights (which not all units are pre- “wired for)
Question:	How far below the deck plate is the lowest point of the motor
Answer:	Easy answer first, the thing heats like a jet engine! I completely loved it - had an older house with a bathroom sharing two walls with attic of the lower floor (split level house) In Cold Weather climate and this would warm a normal bathroom (with tub) from 60 to 75F in the time of a normal shower, with the vent fan running too exhausting moisture. I put in a 30 minute max timer - and the most I ran it was ~15 or 20 minutes and only in winter. The vent fan is as efficient as any other fan. It is as efficient as any electric heater (100%), which is considered "poor" compared to say a heat pump, but as much as you'll get for an electric heater. But you only run this unit while showering, so maybe 2 - 4 times a day, only 15 minutes each time, and only 1/2 of the year; so Maybe 150 hours a year; so like 200 kWH @ 14 cents average in the US gets you $28 a year to run.
Question:	I have the 57n2 series but mistakenly purchased the 696n series. will it work if i just put the 696n's engine in
Answer:	What do you mean by “regular light bulb”? Manufacturers should just say the base type. The “bulb base” Is the standard A15 - capable of, I believe, 1 amp - thus 120 Watt When at 120 Volt. I of course use LED bulbs, of correct base / type, At 10 watts or so. Hopefully this is clear - in that any appropriate 120 volt bulb that fits will work fine when correctly wired.

Answer:	Broan-NuTone exhaust fans are U.L. tested and approved. The AE110 is ONLY approved for a bathroom installation. It is not suitable for a kitchen installation. Question:	Does this connect to a 4" or a 6" duct
Answer:	I think it is either 3" or 4". I would get the 70 CFM if room larger than 8' x 5'.
Question:	I am trying to replace the burned out light bulb but I can't get the light cover off
Answer:	There is 2 tabs on the lens . Take a small screw driver and push in on 1 tab it should release the light cover. The tab is about 1 inch wide. They are straight across from each other.
Question:	how do you remove motor and fan
Answer:	I had to climb through attic crawl space acces in adjoining bedroom and squeeze, wriggle my way til I was able to reach where fan was mounted(which wasn't easy, for I am a big guy). It was mounted on joists in bathroom ceiling. Make sure you bring all the tools you're gonna need because backing up was truly hard( I forgot some tools the first time up there) You have to remove the exhaust hose from unit first, then electrical connections. Removing the mounting wood screws was the hardest part cause the initial installers used 3 inch screws which were far too long for such an installation. I replaced them with 1 inch screws. Replacing the fan in reverse order. Screw in, make electrical connections then exaust hose. All in all it was way harder then I expected but was very satisfied with outcome and money I saved doing it myself.
Question:	description says 100w light with 7w nightlight. The 679 does not have a night light. Does the 678 have a built in nightlight? Picture would help
Answer:	No it does not. I bought this because it is listed in the amazon description as having one. I went to install it and found the amazon description was wrong. I did not find their error until I went to install it and had to return it two months later. They allowed the return but despite the error being on their part, they only issued a partial refund. It's been months since they were told and they still have the 7W nightlight feature listed.

Answer:	NO. you can not ducted to vertical venting directly above the fan . but if you want vertical duct you can do it with one 90 degree turn this fan is 110 cfm i dont think this will be problem . as per i know non of the bathroom exhaust fan can with direct vertical venting

Answer:	Not really, since it moves a lot of air. I'm not sure how quiet something that forceful can be. I needed it to move air out the windows so the 20' x 20' room could then be detoxed (cats) with an air purifier. I guess whether the noise is a factor, tho it's not as bad as many others, is a personal choice.

Answer:	I believe it is 1 year! As a contractor I have installed at least 30 Broan light-fan-heat units in the last 5 years with no callbacks or warranty problems!

Answer:	I used the existing 14/2 for the lights and a new 12/2 circuit for the heat. This does not come with a switch, I used a stacked switch for the vent and heat. This fan definitely warmed up the bathroom.
Question:	does this require a Vent thru the roof. isn't it bad to have air vented into your attic space
Answer:	It's generally against code to obstruct existing attic vents for use with a bathroom exhaust duct. It's also against code to vent into the attic space (due to mold risk). This is, however, a very common code violation. I bought a new home last year and out of a 61-page report. in which incorrect venting for the dryer and the microwave we flagged, the inspector didn't even mention that the bathrooms were venting into the attic!

Answer:	I ordered the 671 to replace an old Nautilus N688-H. The motor fit nicely into the existing housing. The tabs even fit in the housing slots. Plug and discharge orientations were identical to the old housing. Based on this single experience. I would assume a 688 fan would fit in a 671 housing - - - but I cannot verify.

Answer:	Look at the size of the base on the Braun...then look at the opening in the ceiling...if it will fit in that part is OK. Next look at the size of the plastic grill cover on the Braun. If it will cover the hole in the ceiling (the sheetrock hole) then that is OK too.You can find the sizes in the specs of the Braun on Amazon.Be aware that replacing these ceiling fans is something of a project...not for a first time do it yourselfer...on the other hand if you are handy and have a tool or two you can do it.
