Answer:	no. this is a partial kit... i recently purchased, needing to rebuild my differentials primairly and anything else in between . only once i tore it all down did i realize there is only enough bearings for 1 differential. plus there are multiple extra tiny bearings that i have never seen on my slash or slash 4x4. my kit said slash 4x4 on it but i dont think it was the right one, if so, this kit is a partial.
Question:	Can I out a rheostat to turn it to half power? It's pretty loud right now and realized my attic isn't that big, (1200 sf
Answer:	No, it is specifically for the slash 4X, Stampede 4x4 and the Telluride 4x4. It is the bearing carrier for the main spur gear assembly. PJs RC
Question:	Can you use a variable speed controller with this fan
Answer:	Have had mine in since early May w/weekly runs on sandy/dirt track w/no problems, better than stock. my guess would be that you may have slipper clutch to tight? I snug mine down and back off 1 full turn. Also make sure your slipper plate is lined up correctly, it can be 1/4 turn off of the correct position and still "look" good, you should not be able to move it even during loose assembly.

Question:	would it be easy to bypass the thermostat directly to a switch
Answer:	You would half to take apart the electric starter and if its a 12mm hex one way bearing than yes it will but sometimes there different.
Question:	Which type of bearings does the motor use. sleave or ball bearings
Answer:	Is it correctly armed? It may be that the shoes are placed towards the opposite side, check the direction of rotation. If all this is correct, place the hardest springs that come on the set. Or the nut that holds the bell is too tight.
Question:	Where is the thermostat located? And can it be moved into the attic a few feet to reflect the internal temperature, not the outside temperature
Answer:	Yes it does as both the VX16 and VX18 have the same shaft. I used it on both... However, I personally have not had good luck with the aluminum clutches since the holding springs in them seem to break easily, and that means u will have a run-away situation because the clutch pieces without the spring engage the bell at very low RPM... something to keep in mind.
Question:	How noisy is this compared to others? We are looking for a fan as quiet as possible
Answer:	this kit only replaces some of the bearings, not enough bearings to do both differentials ..

Question:	Can it also be used in the winter to keep the attic cold and prevent ice dams
Answer:	Mine came with a Velcro tape . Apply the sticky side on the wood frame (be sure it is clean) and before you install the frame,use the Velcro furry side and wait a day or so to allow the tape to set/cure .Then install . I also installed a whole house cover to keep out excessive heat/cold when the fan is not in use. .
Question:	Does this fan come with a wall plug like a typical appliance? Can I just plug it into an electrical outlet or does it need to be hardwired

Answer:	I think you have one of two choices. Live with it, or install a smaller CFM unit. Personally, I'd learn to live with the noise. You could always add more insulation to the attic...

Answer:	The 356BK is not designed to be used with a speed control. By using a speed control the motor will get very hot and will probably burn out prematurely.

Question:	Is it thermostatically controlled
Answer:	If you mean is it easy to see the positive & negative wires going directly into the fan, cut & splice your own switch in, bypassing thermostat.... yes it is easy to do.
Question:	is the fan on the roof line or deeper
Answer:	I think sealed, I don't remember any zerk fittings or oil holes to use. Mine has been in my house two years and there are no problems. I by passed the thermocouple and have it on a switch. I put one in my daughters house and used the thermocouple because she and her husband are gone quite a bit and not at home to turn it on. No issues after 18 months. Quiet because I used rubber padding between the fan and board it is connected to. It keep our upstairs a lot cooler. No issues with bearings yet, and I don't really expect any.
Question:	Can this be install to an indoor patio? I have a room where the ceiling is essentially a shingled roof with no insulation or space inbetween
Answer:	The thermostat is inside the fan--look at the picture, it is the little box in the lower left corner where the electrical wire is running into the fan. You can take the thermostat out as it is only attached with a couple of screws. Mounting it a few feet away from the fan is easily doable.

Question:	Does this come with the hardware kit
Answer:	No doubt it would keep the attic cold! And yes, it would move air(ventilate) the attic, but it sounds like that you have a problem in your attic that requires a different approach. Condensation is something can be produced by improper venting of a furnace or other appliance that should have been vented all the way through the top of the roof. Even exhaust fans from bathrooms and kitchens will allow the moist, warm air to be trapped inside of the attic. Then there is the insulation itself. If there is inadequate insulation in even one part of the attic, then a condensation problem may arise from that. This particular attic fan moves quite a bit of air, but I'm not sure that it would solve the problem as much as mask the symptom.
Question:	Separate light and fan switch
Answer:	No wall plug or electrical lines. You have to run your own wires, use at minimum 14-2 wire and connect using wire nuts or push wire connectors.
Question:	Never mentions light in reviews or specs. how many lumens does it have? it would be the only light in a small shower/toilet enclosure. is it enough
Answer:	I don't see any information for sones in the product data. From experience in using this fan in my attic, I will hear a hum when at the end of the house where the fan is located in the attic but I don't find it annoying. I live in a 1400 sf ranch style house. The fan is in the attic right over my bedroom. It's usually off in the evening when I'm in the bedroom. If it were on when I was trying to sleep I would hear it but I don't feel it would be loud enough where I would have a problem getting to sleep and staying asleep. Not a technical answer but some input as to the sound level of the fan.

Answer:	I would, but the unit is already installed in my attic in an area which is hard to access. I can tell you I located it behind a gable in my attic, and that place is directly above my master bedroom. When the unit goes on, for which I have verified it's operation, I can not hear it at night when I sleep. It is very quiet.

Answer:	Yes & No. The standard vent is not thermostatically controlled BUT there is an option made by Broan that is made to attach Broan CWT45 Thermostat for 28-Watt Solar Powered Attic Ventilator for less than $28. Amazon shows it. It's a great unit.

Answer:	The fan is above the roof , protected by the cover.

Question:	so without the thermostat, does this fan run all the time while it is light out
Answer:	Yes, it runs continuously when it receives light. You may purchase a Broan thermoswitch which will shut it off if the temp is less than 50 deg F (which means it'll basicaly run all the time). I purchased the thermoswitch for the Natural Light brand because it turns on at 80 and off at 70 (added benefit: it's cheaper). For my climate in Los Angeles, that range is preferable (I would think the same in other climates, too). To install, just clip off the black male spade connector of the Broan and replace it with a female and reconnect with the switch in series. The wiring that comes with the switch is not used. It's easy and it works!
Question:	Can this fan sustain hurricane winds
Answer:	Our unit is located on the Ocean and we have had storms but no hurricanes since it was installed.
Question:	Can this be installed on a Terracotta tiled roof
Answer:	Only if the tiles are relatively flat. Broan's website indicates the fan is designed for a "shingled" roof. Not much clearance between the base and the fan housing, but it woks great.
Question:	Will these keep the dampness out of a shed? Shed is only 140 square feet

Answer:	There’s no duct a hole is cut in the roof and you place on top of hole and it pull the air out
