Question:	I don't see a remote, how do you turn the heater on and off? Does it have to have a thermostat, and if so 27V or 120V thermostat
Answer:	This is a 240V Direct Wire heater. I have installed mine on a 30 amp double pole switch which leviton sells. It is wired directly into my panel with armored 12 guage wire with a 20 amp double pole breaker. We turn it on when we are on the patio, we turn it off when we are done. So, there is no remote. There may be heater control units that can handle the 12 amp 240V current needed to run this heater but you would need to do research.
Question:	does it have to have a variable controller? or can I just connect it through an on/off switch and always run it with a full 240V
Answer:	I put it on a timer. Variable controller was more expensive.
Question:	Is the light the unit puts off red or white
Answer:	Red
Question:	will this unit function in the rain
Answer:	Try and keep it out of direct rain but yes it will as long as the element is dry.

This heater requires one 60 amp double pole breaker. The TPI Corporation FHK13483A portable electric infrared heater has a wheeled steel enclosure that is double-layered to help keep outer surface cool for safety, has wire screens for protection of the heating element, and an infrared element that produces radiant heat appropriate for spot heating of small rooms and work areas. The infrared element is housed in a U-shaped steel sheath for protection against vibration. The reflector is made of gold anodized aluminum that helps provide efficient transfer of radiant energy into the room or workspace in a 60-degree symmetrical heat pattern. The 13.5kW heater heats up to 192/225 square feet (below/above 35 degrees) of non-protected area, or 270/375 square feet of a semi-protected area (below/above 35 degrees). The single- or three-phase, 480V wiring is compatible with many commercial shop circuits and requires ground fault protection. The unit weighs 65 lb. and can be used with a power cord and temperature controls (sold separately).
