13 best electrical baseboard heaters
Electrical baseboard heaters are a type of electric heating system commonly used for heating individual rooms or zones in residential and commercial buildings. They are typically installed along the baseboards or near the floor of a room and are designed to provide localized heat. Here are some key points to know about electrical baseboard heaters:
Electric Heating Element: Baseboard heaters consist of a heating element encased in a metal housing. When electricity is supplied to the heating element, it generates heat, which is then radiated into the room.
Thermostat Control: These heaters are typically controlled by a thermostat, which allows users to set the desired temperature. The thermostat monitors the room temperature and activates the heater as needed to maintain the set temperature.
Zone Heating: Baseboard heaters are often used for zone heating, which means they can be installed in specific rooms or areas of a building. This allows for more precise control over heating, as users can adjust the temperature in each room independently.
Silent Operation: Electric baseboard heaters operate quietly, making them suitable for bedrooms, living rooms, and other areas where noise is a concern.
No Ductwork Required: Unlike central heating systems that rely on ductwork to distribute heat, baseboard heaters do not require ducts. This makes them a cost-effective option for heating individual rooms without the need for extensive installation work.
Efficiency: Electric baseboard heaters are known for their efficiency, as they convert nearly all the electricity they use into heat. However, the overall energy efficiency of the heating system can be influenced by factors such as insulation and the quality of windows and doors.
Installation: Installing baseboard heaters typically involves mounting them to the wall near the baseboard and connecting them to the electrical supply.Proper sizing and placement are essential for effective heating.
Safety: Modern baseboard heaters are designed with safety features, including thermal cutoff switches that automatically shut off the unit if it overheats. It's essential to follow manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines during installation and use.
Maintenance: Baseboard heaters are relatively low maintenance. Regular cleaning of dust and debris from the heating element and housing can help maintain their efficiency.
Design and Aesthetics: Baseboard heaters come in various designs and colors to blend with room décor. Some models even have built-in covers to improve their appearance.
It's important to note that while electrical baseboard heaters are efficient and effective for localized heating, they can lead to higher electricity bills compared to other heating methods, especially in regions with expensive electricity rates. As such, they are often used as supplementary heating or in areas where central heating is not feasible.

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the part number for the thermostat |
Answer: | Yes You simply remove the T2 from the model # and order it as HF4320RPW |
Question: | does this heater come with a built in rheostat or thermostat |
Answer: | I don't know. However, I had it running for an hour in the garage during one of the coldest periods Winter 2014. The cord didn't melt. There's an extensive description of the heater on a Facebook page. It describes the cord as a Triple Tap. Don't know if that helps. The lengthy description is here: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=792774377399839&id=792481984095745. |
Question: | what size room will thi 2 foot heat |
Answer: | It's probably a case of who provides the shipping, handling and convenience. |
Question: | The picture has a built in thermostat but mine didn't come with it.. What's with that? I'm assuming you'll send me one free now since it's pictured |
Answer: | Should work good for that. It had two settings for heat but the fan only runs a constant speed. The two heat settings are 1200 watts and 1500 watts. The 1200 watt setting is a bit more than a 900 watt hand held hair dryer. Where you place the heater while working out will help too. About 12 to 15 feet I’d say. Hard to determine the distance without knowing how cold the garage is to begin with. I use it in my front room that’s 60° and I set the heater 10 feet away on low setting to watch TV and it’s perfect. Hope this helps. |

Question: | I just placed an order for ta1aw and want to make sure it's white in color? deborah asion |
Answer: | I guess you can but the reason you get this type of heater if for thermal convection, mount it close to the floor so the heat rises to the ceiling as the cold air moves back to the floor. If you mount it that high then only the ceiling would be warm and anything under it would always stay colder. |

Surplus City Liquidators does not see an order from you 800-428-4339 Q MARK ELECTRIC BASEBOARD SINGLE POLE THERMOSTAT, VOLTS:120/277VAC,AMPS:22, SINGLE POLE, TEMPERATURE RANGE:40F TO 100F, POWER SOURCE:ELECTRIC CORDED, DIMS:1 1/2"H X 4 1/2"W X 6"L, WEIGHT:14 OZ, IN MFG BOX, MADE IN USA. |
Question: | Are these compatible with aftermarket covers? we are thinking of using something like this.. https://www.amazon.com/dp/b0757rwfz8/ref=sspa_dk_detail_ |
Answer: | This is a single pole thermostat for the Qmark 2500 series baseboard heaters. It has a black and red wire coming off the back. |
Question: | Can anyone tell me if these heaters are economical or not? I understand that they heat the area in timely manner, but do they save coins |
Answer: | The range is not expressed numerically. It as pictured from warm to warmer. I don't know of a residential line voltage thermostat with a range that high. We are not allowed to list manufacturers or sources as recommendations other than those which pertain to the listed product but I can tell you that there are commercial stats available for this application which would be remote mounted to achieve the range you refer to although I'm not sure the heater is up to the task. It is certainly not designed to function normally at those temperatures. |
