The Technology

The dual-stack convection technology featured in the Envi was born out of years of research and development to find a solution to effectively and safely heat a room using the smallest possible amount of electrical heating energy. Dozens of heating methods were evaluated to fine tune the Envi heater, but eventually the answer was found in a naturally occurring phenomena called the "stack effect". This provided the basis for our design and eventually we won a patent for the Envi heater. Natural convection, fanless heating is enhanced by simulating multiple pathways, or “stacks, “inside the Envi heater. Question:	How long is the power cord
Answer:	Short answer is maybe 2, but 2 can still trip your breaker if its on the same circuit (each room is typically a different circuit) and running at 100%. This depends on your circuit, most are 15A or 20A. Loosely the math is 120V * 15A = 1800W. In the 1800W scenario you can have 1.8 of these units running at full capacity. At 120V * 20A = 2400W you can have 2.4 of these heating units at full capacity. Given you may have other appliances in the room on the circuit you might not be able to run 2 of these units if that is the case. Best bet is to get one for each circuit (typically by room) or move up to the 1500W model for each circuit.
Question:	Would this be good for a small bathroom that is unheated and has cold tile floor? Would infrared be better

Question:	Can this be used in an outdoor, glass-covered sunroom that does not have heat
Answer:	I have used this heater continuously for a few weeks. In a small uninsulated area approximately 200 sq. ft. it has done very well. very simple to operate and safe, light and easy to mount it will cost you the use of 110v outlet.
Question:	Does the front of the unit get hot
Answer:	It is small but powerful for it's size. It's about two feet high and a foot and a half wide, only a few inches deep. It mounts on the wall in just a couple minutes, very easy to put up. I use a couple space heaters in my small home because it's old and doesn't have a central heat source. There are two, small electric base board heaters for the whole house and the space heaters do a good job of compensating. I live up north and we are experiencing wind chills of up to 50 below zero at times. On those INSANELY cold days it does take two space heaters to heat our home. However, when the temperature is up to 20 above or more, the Heat Storm does fine on it's own.

Answer:	The power cord is 6 feet long. There is also a compartment inside the Envi Heater to easily store any excess cord length.

Answer:	This heats our bathroom really well, we have a crawl space under the floor so we keep a rubber backed rug on most of the floor but none near toilet, tub or sink. It actually gets to hot for my liking, my husband loves it hot. It's a lot less expensive to run than infrared!!

Answer:	Yes, the Envi Heater could be used in an outdoor sunroom. The effectiveness will vary depending on the level of insulation of the sunroom, the amount of glass, the size of the room, etc. You may also need multiple Envi Heaters for the sunroom.
Question:	I was told by the factory the 4000 watt mod 198 never has a true off, so how cold before the lowest setting turns on, as I worry for frozen pipes

Answer:	The heater is designed to be installed in the wall 4" above the floor. It would not be recommended being installed in the floor.

Question:	How long do these typically last? i have an older dec2422 from 2009 that i may need to replace already
Answer:	I have five of these that I installed as part of room by room remodels starting in 1998-99, replacing old baseboard heaters. One is a 120v and the rest are this model. We vacuum them occasionally, and twice a year we pull the grills off and clean them more thoroughly. All but one are doing fine. The one that is starting to fail is in our main bathroom. We think it's failing due to all the moisture in there since we have three teens lined up every morning for hot showers. Even then, that one's lasted 14 or 15 years, and we're replacing it with another just like it as part of a larger remodel (along with better ventilation). All the other heaters are working fine, including the ones we bought in the late 90's. I'm happy with these heaters, and plan to stick with the King brand.

Answer:	In winter of January 2018 we used only Distilled Water and had NO WHITE DUST PROBLEM. In winter of Dec. 2018 to Mar. 2019, we used only Tap Water and had a white film appear on every vinyl surface and shelf surface in the two Bedroom apartment - even on vinyl CD cases inside a binder.

Ultra quiet fan

CK and CKT heaters have galvanized steel, squirrel cage type blowers that operate at a quiet 49.7 dB(a). The glass-reinforced poly-carbonate, radial type blower in CK Trend heaters operates at an even quieter 49 dB(a).

Even-heating down-draft design

CK and CKT heaters pull in cool room air from the top and blow warm air out the bottom. This down-draft design helps to evenly heat a space for maximum comfort.

Stand-alone or supplemental heat

CK heaters can be the sole heat source for small rooms. They can also supplement heat to a room that doesn’t get warm enough from a central source, as sometimes happens with a mini-split retrofit.

Built-in thermostat

All CK heaters have an integral thermostat for easy heat adjustment. CK and CKT heaters can be controlled by a wall thermostat in a room larger than 215 sq. ft.

Booster timer on CKT

The CKT booster timer outputs heat at maximum for up to 60 minutes. When the timer goes off, the CKT reverts to its thermostat setting, maintaining comfort at the original setting.

Frost protection setting

CK heaters have a frost protection setting. The lowest thermostat setting will maintain above freezing temperatures in an appropriately sized space.

CK Trend On/Off Switch

The CK Trend’s convenient and positive on/off switch completely shuts the heater off when it is not needed. The off position will disable the frost protection setting.

Installation notes

These heaters are not supplied with a cord and must be hard-wired.

CK and CKT models stick out 5“ from the wall and the CK Trend models 5⅛”.

Because these are fan heaters that blow warm air out the bottom, the recommended installation location is about 6-8” off floor, with 4” for a minimum.

All CK heaters should be mounted vertically.

Observe all installation manual precautions regarding minimum allowed clearances between the installed appliance and any hard surfaces.

Answer:	If you mean plug it in then no. If you mean the 240 thin instead of 120 that just means running two lines to it. My father did it for me and we just replaced an old one so the lines were already run.

Answer:	I have this in my living room and run it during the day most days. I have small children and they can't stand in front of it for too long when it's running because the air gets very hot. But I have never had any of them have an issue touching the metal.

Answer:	We do not have a sone level/sound ratings on the wall heaters. The only products that we supply sound ratings for are the fans that exhaust outside.

Answer:	I'm going to assume that you might be talking about a place that you visit for a vacation or some other reason, but not a full time residence, so thereforyou (set it on the lowest level) when you leave hoping the Broan will turn on (when it gets cold) to save your pipes from freezing.In that case, I might not be the best one that can answer your question. (However) I live where my Broan lives, In the winter time I set It on # 2 settingand It does a great job. Answer:	It only has one knob...but the more you turn it, the hotter it gets and the longer it stays on. It also has to warm up before it starts to blow....at first you will think it's not going to work...but be patient and it will come on!

Answer:	It would all depend upon how well the room is insulated and how much glass area you have. Mine is heating a sun room area that is approximately 150 square feet. The room can get quite cool (low 30 degrees) and heats up quickly with this heater. With a minimum of R13 insulation, I suspect that this unit could heat up to 400 square feet with no problem if given enough time.

Answer:	Well, there is no problem mounting it higher on the wall ( to be effective, it is suggested to be mounted 6 - 8 inches off the floor) however, remember heat rises. Other then that, there should be no safety issues mounting it higher on the wall. Keeping in mind not to block it with a door or cover it with curtains for example.

Answer:	This unit blows at 106 CFM.

Answer:	I don't know the maximum room size for this heater. From my experience during this winter, one heater nicely heats a well insulated 200 sq.ft. room in Albuquerque, NM. I have two of these heaters in this room and no other heat. This has been more than necessary, but the units don't run very long and they are surprisingly quiet. I have been happy with these heaters.

Answer:	My input on 240V advantages, this is the voltage used in Europe, and so they would use the same design. The 120V product is for the US market only. For new construction the 240V option is lower cost in wiring and breakers.

Answer:	I don't know. I can tell to you that we take them to hotels all the time. For both deodorizing and to kill germsome. We usually check in and get them going. Go have dinner. Come back and cut air on and room smells like it just rained!! Plus all the bacteria are clobbered too.

Answer:	It is an ozone generator and it definatly does work. I just read the box and it doesn't say anything about negative ions but if I leave it on full blast over night, my livingroom/kitchen smells like a pool area

Answer:	After 4 months the $0.20 Chinese fan got very very loud. I would have to repeatedly tap the device for it to get quiet. After seconds or hours it would get loud again. After 6 months it is always very very loud.
