13 best cadet electric baseboard heaters
Cadet electric baseboard heaters are a type of heating system commonly used in residential and commercial buildings. These heaters are designed to provide efficient and reliable heating through electric resistance heating elements. Here are some key points about Cadet electric baseboard heaters:
Heating Technology: Cadet electric baseboard heaters utilize electric resistance heating technology. They consist of a series of electric heating elements enclosed within a metal housing. When electricity flows through these elements, they heat up and radiate warmth into the room.
Quiet Operation: Electric baseboard heaters are known for their quiet operation. They do not rely on forced-air fans, which can be noisy, making them a good choice for bedrooms and other quiet spaces.
Zonal Heating: Cadet electric baseboard heaters are typically installed in individual rooms or zones. This allows for zonal heating, where you can control the temperature of each room independently, providing customized comfort.
Thermostat Control: These heaters are often used in conjunction with wall-mounted thermostats. Thermostats regulate the temperature by turning the heater on and off as needed to maintain the desired level of warmth.
Installation: Installation of Cadet electric baseboard heaters typically involves mounting them along the baseboard or at the bottom of walls. They are hardwired into the electrical system of the building and may require professional installation.
Safety Features: Cadet baseboard heaters are equipped with safety features to prevent overheating. They often have built-in thermal cut-off switches that turn off the unit if it becomes too hot.
Design and Aesthetics: These heaters come in various sizes and designs to complement different room aesthetics. They can be painted to match the color of the walls or blend with the room decor.
Efficiency: Electric baseboard heaters are generally considered to be efficient because they convert nearly 100% of the electrical energy into heat. However, their overall efficiency can be affected by factors such as insulation, room size, and temperature settings.
Maintenance: Cadet electric baseboard heaters are relatively low-maintenance. Periodic cleaning to remove dust and debris from the heating elements and housing can help maintain their performance.
Energy Source: These heaters rely on electricity as their energy source. This means they are clean and do not produce emissions, making them a popular choice for buildings where other heating options, like natural gas, are not available or desirable.
Cost: The cost of Cadet electric baseboard heaters can vary depending on their size and features. They are often an affordable heating option compared to more complex heating systems.
Local Building Codes: When installing Cadet electric baseboard heaters, it's essential to adhere to local building codes and regulations regarding electrical installations and heating systems.
Cadet electric baseboard heaters offer a straightforward and effective solution for providing localized heating in rooms and spaces. They are a popular choice for maintaining comfort and control in different areas of a building, especially in regions with cold winters.

Question: | I returned you product to a local Kohls and i received an email today that the product was never received. Can you give me some info on this please |
Answer: | This is a link from Home Depot I used when I purchased mine. https://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/0c/0c48b303-97be-48ec-82b6-ff341b740842.pdf excellent heater. I love it |
Question: | What size room with minimal insulation will this heat |
Answer: | You may use an extension cord that is designed to handle 15 amps. This cord can pull up to 12 amps. A good appliance style, one outlet 3 prong 12 gauge cord will handle this. Do not plug anything else into this cord. Always use the shortest length extension cord possible. IE Don't use a 25' extension cord for this 8 foot run. A six foot 12 g. 3 prong would be all that is needed. |
Question: | do all the cadet thermostat come with a wiring diagram |
Answer: | my experience is a 300 to 500 sq ft. but it also depends on how high the ceilings are. This is great heater, but dont expect it to be quick heating. Takes about 15 minutes for the room to heat up. |
Question: | Does this unit have any sort of control? thermostat? on-off switch? high-low control |
Answer: | there is a control, you can set so that it keeps the area heated but it 1000w all the time turn it down it comes on less. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can i wire 2 or 3 of them together an what size breaker |
Answer: | When the A is ON the thermostat is controlling heat. Use + or - to set desired temp. When the A is OFF, the heater is simply on and heating away. If it's in a small room (10x10 say) it can easily heat that space to 90 degrees. So use the thermostat. |
Question: | Does this require a single pole or double pole t-stat |
Answer: | It's completely dark. No glowing. The only light emitted is from a digital display. |
Question: | Anyone aware of the energy efficiency of this heater |
Answer: | the 5622 is white, the 5620 is grey and the 5624 is black. I can't seem to find any other differences. You can check it out for yourself here: http://www.laskoproducts.com/low-profile-heaters/ |
Question: | getting this for a 4 season porch. I need a separate thermostat. Will this work with the Nest thermostat |
Answer: | It's not going right to 77.... it's saying that the temperature in the room is 77. The digital display will always read the current temperature in the room, so if you're setting it to keep the room at 73, then it won't come on if it's already 77. If you're not warm enough, then you'll have to set it higher than what the thermometer on the heater is reading. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you control the temperature |
Answer: | It has a thermostadt that can be digitaly set to the desired temp. Now whether it can be set as low as 45 degrees I am not sure but you surely can set if for 50 degrees and it will function very well. I have a 400 square foot den and on the coldest days, and I am talking 20 degrees below, it will run you out of the room when set on 70 degrees. I had to set it at about 65 degrees to tolerate the heat. This heater really performs well. To answer your question will it turn off once the temp is reached...the answer is YES it will and turn on when it drops below the desired temp too. |

Question: | Hi, i already order this one "cadet 8734 white double pole " , would any one who knows confirms it is a 120v |
Answer: | Yes, I am using it on 120v |
Question: | Does the tstat fit in a regular single recepticle box |
Answer: | I removed it from its mounting so I never tried to install into a box. So I am unsure but I think it would or could fit. |
Question: | If I attach this to the baseboard heater ,does the closeness to the heater affect the functioning of the thermostat |
Answer: | Great question and I really don't know the answer. We have several baseboard heaters with attached thermostats. Heat rises and the control is on the side so my guess is there would not be any issues. |
Question: | I need replacement nobs for Fahrenheat baseboard heater |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this the model that will work with a wall mounted thermostat? So that there isn't a themostat adjustment on the unit itself |
Answer: | Yes, the one that says it's Black in the listing title ("Lasko 5624 Low Profile Room Space Heater, Black") is Black. |
Question: | What size wire to the heater |
Answer: | Warm is OK. Hot is not. Even 1-2 watts of power dissipation will warm a plug sufficiently that you can feel it, but is perfectly safe. Given that this heater draws 1,500 W, it's likely that this amount of power is being dissipated at the plug. The very small resistance where the plug touches the socket contacts is sufficient to cause this. And given that the purpose of this device is to generate heat, it's not like it's 'waste' heat either! |
Question: | If I wanted to replace all baseboard heaters in my house , is this a more Efficient way to go or is it just designed to do a heater in a room |
Answer: | It uses 1500 watts per hour. In my area electricity is about 14 cents/kilowatt. So, if you use if for three hours per day that would be 135 kilowatts per month and cost $18.90/month. I use it to help heat our finished basement (14ftx42ft) and it does a great job. It's not cost effective to have it on all day long, but if I know I'm going to be in the basement I'll set if for 3-4 hours. It'll take the temp from 65 degrees up to 69 in well under an hour (more like 30-40 minutes). |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the color of this unit, white or almond |
Answer: | Double pole 20 AMP breaker and buy a thermostat individually that mounts to either end or wall thermostat? |
Question: | What kind of thermostat is required |
Answer: | This is just a standard 1000W baseboard heater there is no efficiency about it. You need a thermostat To control this unit either a wall or unit mount. And the heater will run until it reaches the temp you want. |
Question: | This heater doesn’t seem to heat well at all |
Answer: | No, Nest thermostats don’t operate at “line” voltage(220volts). They operate at much lower voltage and cannot control resistance baseboard type heaters. I’ve been looking for such a smart “line” voltage thermostat and so far haven’t been able to find one. |
