12 best cadet baseboard heaters
Cadet baseboard heaters are a type of electric heating device commonly used for space heating in residential and commercial buildings. These heaters are designed to be installed along the baseboards of walls, providing even and efficient heating. Here's what you need to know about Cadet baseboard heaters:
Heating Technology: Cadet baseboard heaters use electric resistance heating technology. They consist of a heating element (usually made of metal) that heats up when electricity flows through it. As the element heats up, it radiates heat into the room.
Installation: Cadet baseboard heaters are typically installed near the floor along the baseboard of a wall. They are hardwired into the building's electrical system and controlled by a thermostat. Installation may require some electrical expertise or the assistance of a professional electrician.
Sizes and Models: Cadet offers a range of baseboard heater models with different lengths and heating capacities to suit various room sizes and heating requirements. Common lengths include 24 inches, 36 inches, 48 inches, and 72 inches.
Thermostat Compatibility: Cadet baseboard heaters can be used with various types of thermostats, including line-voltage thermostats designed for electric heating. Some models even come with built-in thermostats for easy temperature control.
Safety Features: These heaters often include safety features such as thermal overload protection, which automatically shuts off the unit if it overheats. This helps prevent fires and electrical hazards.
Quiet Operation: Cadet baseboard heaters are known for their quiet operation. They do not have fans or moving parts, reducing noise levels while heating.
Efficiency: Electric baseboard heaters are generally considered efficient because they provide zonal heating, allowing you to heat specific rooms or areas as needed. However, their efficiency depends on factors like insulation and thermostat settings.
Design: Cadet baseboard heaters are designed to blend with room decor. They often have slim profiles and neutral colors to minimize their visual impact.
Maintenance: These heaters require minimal maintenance. Regular cleaning to remove dust and debris from the heating element and the surrounding area is usually sufficient.
Cost: The cost of Cadet baseboard heaters can vary depending on the model and size. While the initial purchase and installation costs are relatively low, they can lead to higher electricity bills if used extensively, especially in colder climates.
Warranty: Cadet typically offers warranties on their baseboard heaters, providing coverage for a specified period against defects in materials and workmanship.
In summary, Cadet baseboard heaters are electric heating devices designed for space heating in residential and commercial buildings. They are known for their ease of installation, quiet operation, and compatibility with various thermostats. When choosing a Cadet baseboard heater, it's essential to consider the size of the room, insulation, and your heating needs to select the appropriate model.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can i wire 2 or 3 of them together an what size breaker |
Answer: | When the A is ON the thermostat is controlling heat. Use + or - to set desired temp. When the A is OFF, the heater is simply on and heating away. If it's in a small room (10x10 say) it can easily heat that space to 90 degrees. So use the thermostat. |
Question: | Does this require a single pole or double pole t-stat |
Answer: | It's completely dark. No glowing. The only light emitted is from a digital display. |
Question: | Anyone aware of the energy efficiency of this heater |
Answer: | the 5622 is white, the 5620 is grey and the 5624 is black. I can't seem to find any other differences. You can check it out for yourself here: http://www.laskoproducts.com/low-profile-heaters/ |
Question: | getting this for a 4 season porch. I need a separate thermostat. Will this work with the Nest thermostat |
Answer: | It's not going right to 77.... it's saying that the temperature in the room is 77. The digital display will always read the current temperature in the room, so if you're setting it to keep the room at 73, then it won't come on if it's already 77. If you're not warm enough, then you'll have to set it higher than what the thermometer on the heater is reading. |

Question: | If I attach this to the baseboard heater ,does the closeness to the heater affect the functioning of the thermostat |

Question: | I returned you product to a local Kohls and i received an email today that the product was never received. Can you give me some info on this please |
Answer: | This is a link from Home Depot I used when I purchased mine. https://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/0c/0c48b303-97be-48ec-82b6-ff341b740842.pdf excellent heater. I love it |
Question: | What size room with minimal insulation will this heat |
Answer: | You may use an extension cord that is designed to handle 15 amps. This cord can pull up to 12 amps. A good appliance style, one outlet 3 prong 12 gauge cord will handle this. Do not plug anything else into this cord. Always use the shortest length extension cord possible. IE Don't use a 25' extension cord for this 8 foot run. A six foot 12 g. 3 prong would be all that is needed. |
Question: | do all the cadet thermostat come with a wiring diagram |
Answer: | my experience is a 300 to 500 sq ft. but it also depends on how high the ceilings are. This is great heater, but dont expect it to be quick heating. Takes about 15 minutes for the room to heat up. |
Question: | Does this unit have any sort of control? thermostat? on-off switch? high-low control |
Answer: | there is a control, you can set so that it keeps the area heated but it 1000w all the time turn it down it comes on less. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you control the temperature |
Answer: | It has a thermostadt that can be digitaly set to the desired temp. Now whether it can be set as low as 45 degrees I am not sure but you surely can set if for 50 degrees and it will function very well. I have a 400 square foot den and on the coldest days, and I am talking 20 degrees below, it will run you out of the room when set on 70 degrees. I had to set it at about 65 degrees to tolerate the heat. This heater really performs well. To answer your question will it turn off once the temp is reached...the answer is YES it will and turn on when it drops below the desired temp too. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this heater oil filled |
Answer: | No it is not. |
Question: | Thermostat to go with this heater |
Answer: | I replaced the thermostat and this wall board heater at the same time. I just found a similar model of thermostat (Honeywell T498B 1512 super tradeline volt electric heat thermostat double line break in off position). Just make sure your thermostat is compatible with the voltage of the heater (this one is 240 volts). It took a little understanding of hooking up the thermostat but it does work nicely. You certainly can get a thermostat with more features but make sure the voltage and wiring from the old thermostat will work on the new thermostat. I am not an electrician and I am sure electricians could offer more information. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this heat a whole basement |
Answer: | Ours is installed in a 8 x 15 bathroom and it keeps it warm enough in the comfort zone setting. I guess it depends on the sq ft of the basement. It might keep it above freezing at the highest setting, but you might be looking at paying a substantial electric bill as a result. Cadet makes larger units, but I don't know if it would be sufficient. |
Question: | How do you install this? do you just plug it in or is there some wiring involved |
Answer: | There is wiring involved, running power to it and to a line voltage thermostat. It is meant to be hard-wired, not just plugged-in. |
Question: | is this heater child safe |
Answer: | Yes. |
Question: | what is the different about double pole and single pole on Cadet thermostate |
Answer: | i think you have to use double pole for 240v heaters, but both will work will 120v heaters. i bought single pole for this 120v heater and it works fine. |
