Answer:	Due to the design of it, the lock bar most likely won't snap in place if anything is placed between the filter and the case. Some saw dust is normal. It's a design flaw unfortunately. Honestly haven't had any running issues from the way it is set up.

Answer:	I don't know what the demoralization cartridge 7531 is. My Boneco humidifier is an older one and the filter I used for it had to be replaced every month of so. This filter costs less and lasts much longer - mine was good for the entire winter.

Question:	How long is this supposed to last before replacement
Answer:	Twice per year or every 6 months. We were told to replace filters with our Autumn and Spring system checks. That's not to say we haven't used them just fine for an entire year... if you don't have pets or a lot of construction in the area or dust they'll probably do okay do for a year. I prefer to change them at 6 months, my husband prefers annually.
Question:	What's the difference between Merv 8 and Merv 12? Which one is better and why
Answer:	Good morning. A MERV 12 picks up more particulate than a MERV 8 but can also place more restriction on your system. A MERV 8 is a commonly used household MERV and gets most household particulate. The 12 will collect a finer particulate as well as pet dander, tobacco smoke, auto emissions, firewood smoke, and fine dust. It just depends on your particular needs. However, if your system is older a 12 may place too much air restriction.
Question:	I bought this to replace a honeywell filter. it does not fit snug. should i use it or no? i don't want to damage my system
Answer:	Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't give the full details from Nordic Pure, the manufacturer, which tells you this is not a replacement for Honeywell or Filtrete 16x25x4 and you need to order the 16x25x5 for these replacements. IMPORTANT Note: Air filters have an actual size that is a fraction of an inch smaller than the standard size (also known as "nominal size"). The size printed on your air filter may NOT be the Actual Size. With the 4" and 5" air filters there is a wider variance between the nominal size and actual size for the different manufacturers. Because of this, the air filter you are replacing could be called a 16x25x4 but really be the same as our 16x25x5. Answer:	I suggest you go right to the questions for seller to receive this reply. Any I have always purchased as NORDIC Pure are clearly labeled as such. Be conscious of wording that says " Works like Nordic Pure" for less etc. Fine print can trip you up, but Amazon does not stand for that. Answer:	A: If you haven't upgraded you system I would recommend starting at MERV 8 then going up or down depending on how your system responds. Unfortunately the manuals for the Magic Chef units are extinct. They've been purchased and merged into a handful of companies since the 80's. This link will provide a great resource about MERV ratings and what their best use is. I have horrible allergies so I use MERV 14 in one HVAC system. It's hospital quality. In our other house we use MERV 8 and it does well in our 10 year old unit. It catches a lot of dust and pet hair. It's a great middle ground. Question:	We have a problem with not enough air conditioning flow in the upper level of the house. Would this filter make that worse
Answer:	Two things can equalize upstairs and downstairs cooling. #1 If you don's have one, have a thermostatically controlled exhaust roof fan installed. They are the metal mushroom shaped things on roofs with fans inside, they exhaust the super-heated air out of the attic and make a huge difference in upstairs comfort b/c that blanket of 110 degree or more air is now at least closer to the actual outside temp. #2 Set your circulation fan to run all the time vs. turning off after every cooling cycle. Set "FAN" switch to ON vs. AUTO. If your source and return registers are working good then now the temperature of the house won't tend to "stratify" or get layered when the downstairs thermostat is happy but the truth is there's a large temp diff between floors b/c heat rises. Running the fan will help to keep cycling the whole house air and keep it mixed. Plus it gives the thermostat better knowledge of what's really going on. But, I can't stress enough on the roof fan.

Answer:	from what I have read the pressure drop of the 3M 2800 (merv 14, 97%) is .24 psi. the 2200 is I think .20 to .22 psi for the 3M filters.

Answer:	Yes, that was my concern also. It appears that the product is not what it is advertised to be. I did not find Merv 13 marking on the filter. It was only marked on the package. In stead of using it, I purchased a Honeywell filter.
