User questions & answers
Question: | What is the exact VOC measurement |
Answer: | Elastomerics remain somewhat flexible and do not dry hard. They will move with the substrate and are perfect for exterior applications. |
Question: | Can this be used on cork underlayment |
Answer: | The product doesn't say anything about vinyl or plastic. I'd maybe check J and B Weld products. |
Question: | Would a quart cover 6' X |
Answer: | Sorry it took me so long to answer. White or just slightly off-white. Looks like regular white patch. It is a little harder to work with than regular patch, however the finish is very nice looking. Better than regular. After my experience using and finish this summer I will not go back to plain filler/patch material. |
Question: | What is the coverage for 1 gallon |
Answer: | Yes. Since it's flexible and still strong when dry, I used it to cover up cracks after our patio and pool deck settled. Then painted over when it was dry. It dries in what ever shape you apply it, so make sure it's smooth or however you want it because it will stay that way. |

Answer: | I used it over a plywood subfloor , however the label indicates that it can be used over concrete slabs as well. Good product. |
Question: | How many gallons for a 180 sq ft floor |
Answer: | 180 sq. ft. = 20 sq. yds. My gallon says it will cover 5 to 7 sq. yds. using a 1/4" x 1/4" x 1/4" square notched trowel. So that would be 3 to 4 gallons you need I think. Hope this helps. |
Question: | How long does it take to set? (not cure time |
Answer: | It depends on ambient temperature and humidity. On average a couple of hours. |

- Manufactured in United States
- Package Dimensions: 12.7" L x 13.21" W x 13.21" H
User questions & answers
Question: | How many sq yards will a QT cover |
Answer: | I’m not sure, but I filled in carpet tack strip holes in a 12x13 room and a 11x4 hallway, and still have over 1/2 left. And when I pulled them out , it makes a decent sized hole on most of the nails. So I was using plenty of it, and still had over 1/2 left in the container. My cover isn’t wanting to close like it should, so I have it in a big ziplock bag so it won’t dry out. |
Question: | Can it be use to level cork floor for porcelain tile installation |
Answer: | Wouldn't recommend this product for your project. Better to lay Durock over the cork floor, then a mix and pour floor leveler over the Durock, then install your tile. |
Question: | can this be used under peel and stick tile |
Answer: | I imagine it could. I don't recommend this product. It was difficult to work with and then just became rubber like. If you are working on concrete, I would just go with a thinly mixed thinset to do minor leveling. |
Question: | How fluid is this stuff? you have to trowel it on? is it runny |
Answer: | I used a 5 inch sheet rock knive, but a trowel would work fine. It is not runny, but not quite as stiff as sheetrock mud. Spreads easily. I used it on a remodel job to fill in cracks/spaces in the floor from demo of walls. |

User questions & answers
Question: | My contractor used this at wall/floor joint and toilet/floor joint. It's very sticky and attracting dust. Was this an appropriate use of the product |
Answer: | I used this to caulk around tub and wall several months ago and it has held up so far, so I would have no problem with dust. After reading the specs, I would have not used it on floor. I am not a contractor, just a 78 year old fossil. There are a tons of different caulk applications out there. |
Question: | I'd like to know if the brown is light, medium or dark, if somebody can describe it? I wonder if the dark bronze is darker |
Answer: | It is a reddish brown |
Question: | can this be used over 100% while silicone caulk that was recently put down? I want to cover up in this almond color so I don't have to paint |
Answer: | I would still paint it because dirt will stick too caulk and make it look terrible pretty quickly |
Question: | Is this good to use in the shower |
Answer: | Just because a caulk is waterproof, doesn't mean its good for shower areas. If you go the DAP website you can see that they have caulks for bath areas and caulks for exterior siding. Dynaflex is soft and flexible to seal joints in moving substrates such as siding. Siding expands and contracts with temperature and moisture content. Dynaflex is designed to keep up with that movement, but to do that in a latex formula, means that it is inherently soft and prone to damage. Frequent scrubbing such as in a bathroom environment would quickly destroy any adhesion. It might be fine (though not ideal) for caulking the top of a counter backsplash or where the tile meets drywall, but its not suitable for shower use where you would expect a waterproof joint. You won't see any fish tanks assembled with Dynaflex. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How do I re-seal the tip after partial use? Other culks have a removable cap but this one doesn't. Do I need a plastic wrap and a rubber band? Thanks |
Answer: | There are a few things that work. You can stick a nail or screw in and wrap it up tightly with duct tape. I like using a bolt that's a little bigger than the hole because you can then take it out with a wrench if it dries a little on the end. Or you can screw a wire nut on the end, preferrably the waterproof type. Both methods are cheap and work pretty well. |
Question: | Does this caulk dry shiny or matte |
Answer: | When you say shiny I assume you mean patent leather like shiny??? If so, the answer is definitely not!!!! It's a matte black when fully cured. |
Question: | can this be used on my aquarium |
Answer: | My guess is no. There is caulking made just for aquariums but it is more expensive. http://www.amazon.com/All-Glass-Aquarium-AAG65010-10-3-Ounce/dp/B0002ASD34/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410170477&sr=8-1&keywords=aquarium+caulk |
Question: | do you need caulking gun to use this tube? Can it be used on its own |
Answer: | Yes, you will need a medium duty caulking gun. There are products (that don't require a caulking gun) that come in squeezable tubes that are okay for small jobs and/or hard to reach locations. However, it is difficult to lay a professional looking bead of caulk with these tubes and comparatively they are very expensive. If you own a home, especially an older one, you will need to do a lot of caulking and a caulking gun is a wise and inexpensive investment. You should purchase a decent one with a rotating metal wire at the end of the gun (where the nozzle of the caulk tube goes) that is used to pierce foil seals in the nozzles of most painter's (acrylic non-silicone) caulks, and will help to break through any hardened residue in an old tube of caulk if you want to use it after it has been sitting around for awhile. |
