Answer:	Yes ... this opener is perfect for a low clearance installation. I used it in a shed with very low headroom. Plus, I have had Genie's and Chamberlin's and this opener is way better. Less moving parts and It is much quieter. I decided to get rid of my Chamberlin and installed another Sommer. This summer I will replace the Genie. Give this one a try. You will love it.

Question:	Is there any adjustment for downforce? Mine is reversing and going back up (aggravating) 2 or more times
Answer:	I would check the stop on the door end of the track to make sure that it hasn't moved. It gets adjusted when the door opener is installed with the door in the closed position. Its purpose is to turn off the opener as the door touches the floor. If it doesn't, the opener detects excessive downforce as the door pushes against the floor and reverses itself. Check the install instructions to learn how to adjust the stop.
Question:	Has anyone had a chance to compare this to a belt driven opener as far as speed and noise
Answer:	This was an upgrade from a belt driven opener. It is MUCH quieter but also much slower. It takes about 20 seconds to open and about the same time to close.

Answer:	If you mean "Does it detect an obstruction in the way of the closing door?", the answer is Yes. If you mean "Does it turn on the inside garage lights when there is motion in the garage?", the answer is No. This is absolutely the best garage door opener I have ever bought...definitely worth the extra money. Their customer service is incredible, too.
Question:	Has anyone had any durability issues with the Sommer, or had to use the warranty
Answer:	Well after 6 years ours finally died yesterday. Smoke started coming from the lighting section (not the motor) and then the garage door moved slowly until it stopped. It will be interesting to see how that warranty is holding up.

Answer:	Your code needs to be entered to close the garage door. But, I normally just use either the inside open/close button or my remote in my vehicle . . . so not a biggie.

Question:	Can the led-light be removed or disabled
Answer:	It USED to be compatible with MyQ. I had it configured for the last two years, working fine, and hooked up to Amazon Key for garage deliveries. Today, for unrelated security reasons, we had to reset all the remote codes on the 850LM and re-add them. Now the MyQ app will NO LONGER allow you to pair with the 850LM. It is not a technical limitation, it is a product marketing decision. I suspect they want to force people to shell out hundreds of dollars to upgrade their whole garage door system if they want internet access. It's a very lame decision by liftmaster to break something that was ALREADY WORKING.
Question:	How can i turn off/on the led light without opening the garage door
Answer:	The 850LM acts the same as a simple doorbell switch. If your Genie opener has contacts for a remote wired switch, then it should work. Just connect it to the same two contacts as the switch, and connect it to a power supply. I purchased a LiftMaster 811LM transmitter for use with my 850LM receiver. It's cheap, and works very, very well. A 813LM transmitter will also work.
Question:	How do i make this wifi compatible? it says wifi compatible on the box, but it turns out it is not after i installed it
Answer:	It's basically a set of buttons that can be remotely activated. Supports up to 3 buttons to control up to three 1-button openers or one 3-button opener. Supports both NC and NO type on channel 3 for stop buttons. Remote not included, just get a new liftmaster 3 button and it will work. I went with a 4-button remote, I control the 3 channels of this receiver for my shed and the 1 button opener on my attached garage with 1 remote.

The 41A4373A sensors are replacement safety sensors (infrared eye) for 1993-late 1990's operators with the safety sensor option. Billion code series with the green LED light, not compatible with sensors that have red LED lights, if your sensors have a green light on one sensor and an orange light on the the other, you need the 41A5034 sensors.

Answer:	I found some info on utube that said they were not interchangable. I did not try the new model sensor. The old model was 3 times the price but still cheaper and easier than buying a new opener. I would say stick with the old model sensor, it has a red indicator light on both sensors and the new style has a red on one and green on the other.
