Answer:	Yes, all of your existing openers will still work. What this does is allows you to see if your garage door is open or closed no matter where you are (at work, on vacation, anywhere where your phone can connect to the internet), and it allows you to open or close it from anywhere from the app. You can also set alerts so that you get notified when somebody leaves it open and you can schedule it to close at specific times. Answer:	It is really shame that Chamberlain myQ decided to NOT support SmartThings. After their announcement to support it (which was if I remember 2015 or 2016), I actually switched all of the garage openers to be myQ compatible... which ended in major disappointment because they never got out the integration. There was a manual integration that a SmartThings user did, but even this one is now defunct.
Question:	Why does chamberlain charge a fee when the other devices are free
Answer:	This is a shame and Chamberlain should be embarrassed. It's pathetic. I would rather pay $10-20 more to never pay a subscription fee as long as I own the device. Aonthly or annual fee is just sickening and it's the singular reason why I have not purchased this product. Everything I own is Chamberlain. By including a fee, they have completely ALIENATED A LOYAL CUSTOMER. Am I also understanding this correctly that Alexa does not have a subscription fee for integration?

Answer:	I have homelink in my car and tried linking when I saw you question. It worked. First you need to use learn function to link to a button on your garage door remote to work with the lamp control. Then teach homelink that ‘code’ like you would for the garage door opener.

I had a similar type of device installed on my old door openers a couple years ago (it would automatically lower them after a preset time). But it failed and it kept running the garage doors up and down. I wasn't at home, the openers kept running until they smoked, my spouse panicked and called the fire department.I said "you could have just turned the switch off". Anyway, be careful with a feature like this, think of the failure modes.

I have 2 I set up, that if the door is open for longer then 5 minutes it'll notify me, and again if it's open for longer then 10 minutes, it'll notify me again.I got it because my Dad who lives at my house would take off and forget to close the garage door. I tried other things and it didn't work. So I got this. So it notify's me and him when the door opens and closes and if it's left open for longer then 5 minutes and 10 minutes.Just in case I get a alarm that it's left open, I actually got a cheap $40 wifi camera. Connect it to wifi and mounted it up and plugged in power. So I can log in on my iPhone and see what's going on LIVE. If I see his truck in the driveway I know he's there and working on something. If the truck was not there, I can then close it myself no matter where I am. So far he hasn't left it open since I for this setup.It would be nice for some IFTTT features. Along with Homekit support. People have been asking for these things for the last couple years. So if you buy this system in the hopes of that, maybe look elsewhere. If it;s not as important to do, maybe it would be nice to have, but not a big deal, then this system works pretty well. It's not 100% perfect. For example, one day on the way to work a message popped up saying I left the Garage door open, so I went into the App to close the door and it locked up on the network and I couldn't get a connection. So I had no idea if the door was open or close?!? This was before I had the camera. So I went all the back back home to double check that it was actually closes. Answer:	If you marry the switch to a MyQ garage door opener (GDO) with WiFi, or a MyQ adapter (hub) for non-MyQ GDOs, it uses the 902 - 926 MHz MyQ band. The MyQ GDO or MyQ hub sends and receives info to and from the MyQ app via WiFi, then shares the info with the switch via the MyQ band. The switch does not work on WiFi as a stand alone device.

Answer:	YES. This is the most dependable remote switch by any of the manufacturers. I have tried them all and absolutely love the product. If I push this before I go to bed it locks the garage door opener so no remotes will open it until the unlock button is pressed. It is not wireless though, yet a nice way to lock up the garage as your making your last run around the house to lock up all the doors before heading to bed.
Question:	Does this unit need a hardwired ethernet cable connected to my router or does it connect via WiFi after set up. I do not have a Ethernet jack closeby

Answer:	I am using 4 to control lights now from my smartphone app with the MyQ garage door hub, I have them scheduled but I can also turn them on/off as needed. So, I think that I could add several more if desired. I hope this helps.

Answer:	From my direct experience as a fellow consumer with this product I can tell you that this component can be made to function completely independently of the door opener. I have the door opener as well as two PILCEV controllers. I keep the three button wireless remotes clipped to the visors in the cars. I have the door opener programmed to respond to the leftmost large buttons on both remotes, and the middle button on both remotes controls a PILCEV connected to a lamp in the living room, and the right button on both remotes controls a PILCEV connected to bank of florescent lights in the garage. You could just as well buy one or more three button remotes and three PILCEVs and control lights only. I am sure it will control your Christmas lights but I am virtually certain the PILCEV is an "indoor only" product. There are no weatherproofing seals on it or any other type of ruggedization that would indicate it was designed to withstand an all-weather environment. So I personally would not use it outdoors and expect it to survive. I will say that they work great and I really like them. It makes getting home late when all the lights are out very convenient and safer.

Question:	will my exiting door openers work
Answer:	I was not able to program my Toyota Highlander to operate the new Chamberlain opener, even though it had worked on other garage door opener receivers of both ordinary and "rolling codes" types. I did not attempt to reprogram my Sears "rolling codes" transmitters, so I do not know if that can be done. Since I have moved away, I cannot try it now. Sorry.

Question:	Will a single gateway work in garages with multiple doors or is an individual gateway required for each door opener
Answer:	Talked to my friend and he did not try to install the gateway to multiple doors. However, I think it will work because the first step is to pair the gateway's remote with our auto's garage door button. The second step is to pair the head unit of the garage door opener with the auto's garage door button. After this the operation is done. Therefore, the gateway is just the go between the auto's garage door button and your garage auto unit. But for sure that you can have different autos to operate the same door. Since it's not that expensive, I will order two and try to install one gateway to multiple door and if it works, return the extra one.Appreciate to let me know if this works.

Answer:	Depending on the make and model of your car you might need a homelink repeater. I needed on for my vehicle and called homelink and they sent me one free of charge. Give homelink a buzz and ask them about it.
Question:	Can this be used in a 3 way switch ? Just one of them
Answer:	With a "keychain" remote you don't need 3-way switches. Faceplate mounted remotes can be installed in place of one of the 3-way switches. An electrician can convert your 3-way switches to a single-pole remote switch, so you end up with eqivalent to 3-way, but one switch is wired and the other uses wireless to control the wired switch. Only drawback is that the wireless remote will need periodic battery replacement.
Question:	Do you need the gateway/internet to turn lights on/off by using the key chain and visor remote? Is the MyQ garage door opener even needed
Answer:	The light switch will work directly with the key chain/visor remote, without the need for any additional equipment. The gateway, which requires Internet access, is used for the additional function of being able to control the switch through your smart phone or computer. I used the switch with the keychain remote only for months and only added the gateway at a later date in order to take advantage of the additional functions.

Answer:	Yes. It is strong enough, but would require an extension rail. Chamberlain 8808CB 8-Feet Belt Drive Extension Kit. Amazon carries it.
Question:	does it work with "home link" auto openers both Ford
Answer:	It really depends on the year of the vehicle. The newer makes have a better chance of working with the newer "Home Link" systems, but I had a 2011 Nissan Quest and it still didn't work. Your best bet is to contact Chamberlain (1-800-528-5880) and give them the year, make, & model and they will tell you if it works. If not, they offer a "repeater" that will work with vehicles that have older "Home Link" systems. They should offer the repeater for free and charge something like $7 for shipping. I did it, and it was well worth the $7. It wasn't too difficult to set up. One issue, if you are buying the garage door opener with the battery back-up, unfortunately the repeater needs a plug to work, so when the power goes out, your in-car opener won't work (though the openers that came with the unit still will). In the end, needing the repeater to still use my in-car opener was not a big deal for me. The unit works great. It is SOOO much quieter than my old chain drive unit, and has some nice features to boot. Hope that helps :-)
Question:	I have a 3 car garage w/ 2 garage doors. Can I use one remote for both openers i.e. different buttons on the same remote operate the diff. openers
Answer:	Yes, you can assign buttons for each door on each remote you receive. I got 4 remotes and 2 keypads with purchase of two openers. First I erased all memory factory settings on each opener, then linked all 4 remotes (button 1) on opener 1, then repeated same for door 2 for button 2 on each remote. Each keypad operates one door only, so you have to have 2 keypads outside.
Question:	Thinking of replacing older garage door opener. Is this easy to install or are extra parts needed
Answer:	This opener comes with everything you need to install it, as long as you already have the mounting brackets attached to the ceiling. Any you can get the MyQ internet gateway to open the door remotely via smart phone. One caution, if you have the built in homelink buttons in your vehicle older than 2013, you'll have to call the support line to get a repeater.

Answer:	Yes, make sure you get an installer that pays attention to details and is local. The problem with Amazon Home Services is, they don't always use local contractors, my guy came from around 45 miles away. Best to contact local installer yourself.

Answer:	I had to read the instructions thoroughly. You have to connect to the garage door opener via wifi on your phone and then go to the web address stated in the instructions (can't remember off hand). From there it was pretty simple. Took me a while to figure it out. I just hadn't read far enough.
Question:	Does this unit have WiFi and/or can it be added to a smart home hub for access via Alexa
Answer:	Ray, you will need to obtain the MyQ Home Bridge in order for our B550 opener to work with HomeKit. Then, you will be able to ask Siri to open, close, or check the status of your garage door opener. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Question:	If you pay for installation does that include them setting up the keyless entry pad
Answer:	Yes, all of your existing openers will still work. What this does is allows you to see if your garage door is open or closed no matter where you are (at work, on vacation, anywhere where your phone can connect to the internet), and it allows you to open or close it from anywhere from the app. You can also set alerts so that you get notified when somebody leaves it open and you can schedule it to close at specific times. So it is MUCH more than just a remote control in your car or on your sun visor.

Answer:	It is really shame that Chamberlain myQ decided to NOT support SmartThings. After their announcement to support it (which was if I remember 2015 or 2016), I actually switched all of the garage openers to be myQ compatible... which ended in major disappointment because they never got out the integration. There was a manual integration that a SmartThings user did, but even this one is now defunct.
