As with a "clicker", the device must be registered with the garage door operator. Sounds to me like you're very confused. This is NOT an operator, it is a radio frequency control just like a clicker. I urge you to obtain the assistance of someone who is knowledgeable in this area.

Press the remote control and the light will blink and you will hear a click. The remote is programmed. Do the same process to sync the other remote control and you are all set!
