9 best o3 racquets

O3 Racquets, also known as "O-Port" racquets, were a unique line of tennis racquets introduced by Prince Sports. These racquets incorporated a distinctive O-Port technology, which aimed to enhance the racquet's performance and player experience. Here's what you need to know about O3 Racquets:

  1. O-Port Technology: The hallmark feature of O3 Racquets was the O-Port technology, which involved large, open string holes near the frame's head. This design was intended to provide several advantages, including a larger sweet spot, reduced aerodynamic drag, and enhanced dampening of vibration.

  2. Larger Sweet Spot: O3 Racquets claimed to have a significantly larger sweet spot compared to traditional racquets. This meant that players had a greater margin for error when hitting the ball, resulting in more consistent and forgiving shots.

  3. Reduced Vibration: The O-Port design helped to minimize the vibration transferred to the player's arm upon impact with the ball. This was seen as a benefit for players who suffered from arm discomfort or tennis elbow, as it reduced the risk of overuse injuries.

  4. Improved Aerodynamics: The O-Port technology also aimed to reduce air resistance. The unique string hole design allowed air to pass through the racquet frame more efficiently, potentially leading to faster swing speeds and more power.

  5. Variety of Models: Prince produced a range of O3 Racquet models to cater to different playing styles and skill levels. These included racquets suitable for beginners, intermediate players, and advanced players, each with its own set of specifications and characteristics.

  6. Stringing Patterns: O3 Racquets often featured distinctive stringing patterns due to the open string holes. Players needed to use appropriate stringing techniques that accommodated the O-Port design to optimize performance.

  7. Player Feedback: O3 Racquets received mixed feedback from tennis players. While some players appreciated the larger sweet spot and reduced vibration, others found it challenging to adapt to the unique feel and stringing requirements of these racquets.

  8. Discontinuation: Despite the initial excitement surrounding O3 Racquets, Prince eventually discontinued this line, and it is no longer widely available in the market. The reasons for discontinuation may have included evolving player preferences and technological advancements in racquet design.

It's worth noting that the tennis industry is continually evolving, with racquet manufacturers regularly introducing new technologies and designs to improve performance. While O3 Racquets were a notable innovation in their time, players should explore the latest racquet offerings and consult with tennis professionals to find a racquet that best suits their playing style and preferences.

Product description

The Prince Ramy O3 squash racquet is a true classic from Prince. Designed for multiple World Champion and former World Number 1 Ramy Ashour, this racquet has some of Prince's most famous technologies making it a truly unique racquet. Lightweight and powerful, the Ramy O3 has O Ports strategically placed around the racquet head to let stings move more freely, which increases a player's access to power. The fanned string pattern is synonymous with Prince and elevates the string bed's sweet spot so that you can return length tighter to the wall. The 16x16 string pattern plays with a great amount of control whether you're hitting length or attacking and trying to hit nicks. The racquet has a slightly head heavy balance that can easily be countered by choking up on the grip for better control. Product description

Prince's most powerful squash racquet in its Pro Series, the Prince TeXtreme Pro Phantom 950 has two of Prince's most popular technologies. The power of this racquet comes from its large sculpted O3 grommets which makes the racquet more aerodynamic and increases the size of the racquet's sweet spot because of more string movement. The Power Ring in the Phantom's throat also adds to the strings' ability to move more which increases power potential. The 16x16 string pattern is fanned and cuts the ball effectively when trying to put balls into the nick or make a drop shot from the back wall. TeXtreme technology has been added to crown of the racquet head for added stability, and works to prevent torque when making impact with the ball. Overall, the Pro Phantom is a great racquet fro players looking to for a lot of power while also feeling connected to every shot.

    User questions & answers

    Question: Delivery time
    Answer: Excellent.
Question: Is it head heavy or head light? Prince website declares it head heavy while on amazon its shown as head light. Please clarify
Answer: It is slightly head heavy. I preferred head light in a 115 gram racquets but discovered by sampling that there was decidedly more pier in 130 grams or slightly more but they all felt too dead and lacked the touch of a lighter racquet until I tried this racquet. It has power and touch. It helped my drop shots and intentionally short game immensely because of it. A top player also prefers it now and agreed about power and touch. You can try a Prince loaner at Squash World which will convince you but they hanone if these to try out.

    Prince

    Product description

The largest of the Beast series, the Prince TeXtreme X Beast 104 is perfectly suited for players looking to brush the ball from deep behind the baseline or attack shots at net with decisive volleys. While on the cusp of being labelled an Oversize (OS), this racquet still delivers the precision of a Midplus frame but with the power of an OS. The combination of graphite, TeXtreme and Twaron has created a very stable feeling racquet even on shots outside the sweet spot. TeXtreme offers a unique spread tow construction that creates straighter fibers for more strength and stability while Twaron is added for improved feel and sound. While this racquet has an even balance when strung, it is still very maneuverable when coming into the net and the larger head size helps with reaction volleys. The composition of graphite, TeXtreme and Twaron absorb heavy shots with a lot of stability but without sacrificing feel. Overall, the Prince TeXtreme Beast 104 is a powerhouse in the Beast series that maintains responsiveness and feel especially at net.

    • The racquet is extra long in length at 27 3/4"

    User questions & answers

Question: Would the Ti6 be good for a 84 year old player. I was never above 3.5 player
Answer: Probably would be good for you. But you should demo from a local shop! You should not "buy to try" from Amazon.
Question: Vibration damper below or above the lowest horiz string? Near grip size there is a mark "-1", meaning? Thanks
Answer: Below. If it's above the lowest horizontal string it is "in the playing string bed" and is an "illegal attachment".
Question: I read with this racquet you should have vibration dampeners. What do you advise
Answer: Vibration dampners do NOT stop racquet vibration, rather they mute string vibration noise. The TiS6 has it share of string vibration noise that bothers some. It's a personal preference. You can test using a rubber band https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=LzW8cFwn_Ds
Question: Looked into the racquet description and didn't find anything about String Tension. My old racquet messed up my shoulder badly and trying to be careful
Answer: This is a great racquet . I started using it years ago for tennis elbow, it never came back. I string it at 60 lb with multifilament.
