I would think your son would need to grow quite a bit to fit into the small, unless his legs are very muscular. The item is intended to fit snugly, but not to cut off your circulation. There is no "extra-small" as far as I know.

Answer:	I can’t say 100%, but we used medium for some smaller high school girls and they worked great. Medium is versatile.

Answer:	They seemed quite small when I received them, but they have good stretch. I bought a medium for my 15 year old who is lean. I worried that they would be to small but they fit great. I would get small or x small if they have them for a 5 and 8 year old.

Answer:	I don't know, this was a gift.

Answer:	If the thigh circumference 4'' above the knee cap is 15'' I would suggest a "Large". If that doesn't fit you can always return it for a refund. All the best.

Answer:	Wash it but don't put in the dryer, my mistake when I did. After that, the elasticity got damage and it always slip from my knees. Dont put it in the dryer!
