Answer:	Depending on the level of play, I would say yes, but I do recommend a Varsity Adult set of shoulder pads due impact speed of a much larger opponent (Semi-pro, or Professional level). There is also different types of pads, based on your position (QB, WR, LINEMEN, CB/DB/SAFETY, etc). As with all football equipment, there is that possibility of injury..
