The weight of the balls gives them a lot of movement , which gives the appearance that they are going faster. The curves and sliders are the biggest advantage that this machine can give you. It's harder to hit than the real thing, so makse hanging curves look like they are on a tee. A real pitcher can't throw curves or sliders as good as this machine. |

| Answer: | My son, daughter, and myself have used a child's aluminum T-ball bat. I can swing full speed with jugs poly baseballs and no issues. Jugs Balls are more consistent than the ones it came with. Huge upgrade for small money. Other limited flight styles may work also. Only have tried jugs based on others reviews and recommendations. | Answer: | About 30 to 40 mph from a distance of 25 to 30 feet. The balls that come with it, or are recommended for it, are junk, however it works great if you buy JUGGS plastic balls. I've had one in my basement for several years hitting JUGGS balls with wood bats and love it. The balls break occasionally after a long period of time but can really take a beating. I set-up the machine on stacked crates so that the machine is at shoulder height thus replicating a very inexpensive indoor pitching machine. If you buy good balls they will be delivered consistently in the strike zone. The best money I've spent for practicing baseball in the winter. |
| Question: | I need something like this for my dog, I say need because my shoulder/arm can't take much more. Will this work or any other suggestions |
| Answer: | My dog loves it but he only brings the balls back...hasnt grasped the concept of putting then back in the basket yet. It didn't launch very far but I put it on a chair to add height. Someone suggested I buy wiffle balls (I bought a neon green set from Amazon)... they worked great. |
