2 best kids catchers glove

A kids catcher's glove, also known as a catcher's mitt, is a specialized piece of equipment used in the sport of baseball, specifically by the player in the catcher position. Here is some information about kids catcher's gloves:

  1. Purpose: A catcher's glove is designed to catch and handle fast pitches from the pitcher, making it an essential tool for the catcher to play their position effectively.

  2. Design: Catcher's mitts have a distinct design compared to other baseball gloves. They are larger and heavily padded to absorb the impact of fast pitches. The extra padding helps protect the catcher's hand and fingers from injury.

  3. Size: Kids catcher's gloves are designed to fit the hands of young players. They are smaller and more manageable than adult-sized catcher's mitts. The size is typically determined by the age and skill level of the child.

  4. Materials: These gloves are typically made from high-quality leather or synthetic materials. The choice of material can affect the durability and cost of the glove.

  5. Webbing: Catcher's mitts have a unique closed web design that helps conceal the pitcher's signals from the batter and ensures the ball doesn't pop out of the glove easily upon impact.

  6. Pocket Depth: The pocket of a catcher's mitt is deeper compared to other baseball gloves. This allows the catcher to catch fastballs securely and control the ball while receiving pitches.

  7. Wrist Strap: Many catcher's mitts have an adjustable wrist strap or Velcro closure to provide a secure fit and prevent the glove from slipping off during play.

  8. Break-In: Catcher's mitts often require a break-in period where the leather is softened and shaped to the player's hand. This process involves conditioning the glove and repeatedly catching balls to mold it to the desired shape.

  9. Position Specific: Catcher's mitts are unique to the catcher position and are not suitable for other positions on the field due to their size and design.

  10. Brand Variety: Various sports equipment manufacturers offer kids catcher's gloves, allowing young baseball players and their parents to choose from a range of options based on their preferences and budget.

  11. Care and Maintenance: Proper care and maintenance are essential to extend the lifespan of a catcher's mitt. This may include cleaning, conditioning, and storing the glove correctly during the offseason.

In summary, a kids catcher's glove is a specialized piece of baseball equipment designed for young catchers. It offers the necessary protection, size, and features required for players in the catcher position to effectively handle and catch fast pitches while also ensuring their safety on the field.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the difference between the mizuno gxc105 and the mizuno gxc100? other than color and price, i can't find any discernible difference
Answer: Yes it will
Question: Is this a good glove for a 9 going on 10 year old
Answer: If your hand is not too big (12inch over), this glove would be good for adults.
Question: is this glove all leather
Answer: Hand orientation refers to THROWING. Right = RH thrower & Left = LH thrower. Thanks!
Question: Why is left hand throw more money
Answer: This mitt should fit a 17yr old hand, but there is limited padding in the glove. High school pitchers can throw pretty hard, I don't think this mitt can handle that speed in game situations. Your hand will be hurting by the end of the game. I use it with my 11yr so he can practice pitching. It is a nice mitt that breaks in pretty fast.
