Answer:	There are 5 categories of PFDs, but most paddlers should use a Type III or V USCG-approved PFD. Type I: Offshore Life Jackets. These are geared for rough or remote waters where rescue may take a while. Though bulky, they have the most buoyancy, a bright color and can turn most unconscious people face up in the water.Type II: Near-shore Vests. Calm inland waters, where a fast rescue is likely, is the intent of these PFDs. They will turn some unconscious wearers to the face-up position but not all of them. They are bulky, but less so than Type I.Type III: Flotation Aids. These are suitable for most padders where there is a chance for a quick rescue. They offer freedom of movement and the most comfort for continuous wear. Answer:	I would not suggest buying this. The strap broke after only using it twice!

Answer:	There are two air chambers that you have to blow up separately. You can fill one, or both, depending on how much buoyancy you need. The actual air tube is not a heavy-duty rubber inner tube like I thought it would be. It does not require an air compressor to inflate. It is similar to the very cheap, little inner tubes you can buy at any super store.
Question:	What weight range does this work for
Answer:	It says 2-4 years, and my child is 2. Didn’t work well.
Question:	is this the kind with a rubber tube inside
Answer:	Yes, but not the heavy duty kind of rubber tube. It’s the kind you blow up with your mouth. When I was a kid we had one of these that you had to blow up with a bicycle pump, and it worked great. This one loses air so easily, and the flotation is pretty terrible. Do not recommend.

My daughter stayed above water with no issues HOWEVER please do not put this on your daughter without some kind of shorts (I use bike shorts) as the strap that goes between the legs cuts her ever time. The strap moves back and forth and causes cuts and it’s pretty painful. After I found out that’s what happened I started putting long shorts on her to cover her skin.

Answer:	I would think so. Although some reviewers found the neck hole too small we used it for my 16-month old granddaughter and it fit fine. I'd recommend reading all the reviews, though, since a 6.5 month-old infant is pretty small for any vest. I seem to remember, though, that the vest does not naturally float to keep the infant's face out of the water so if you're using the vest as a "pool float" you'll need to pay constant, continuous attention to her. I don't think this is unique to this particular vest - all the ones with this "approved" design work the same way. Why this design is "approved" I haven't a clue.

Answer:	I wondered the same thing when I was buying mine, so I checked on the manufacturer's website (www.stearnsflotation.com) and the main/only difference is I find was the fabric used on the outside. The lower priced line (called "Cancun Series" uses nylon, the mid priced flotation uses woven polyester (both the "Maui" and "Bahamas" series) and their most expensive line ("Tahiti" Series) uses hydroprene. Amazon doesn't seem to use the series names but just check what fabric is listed in the item description and you will know if you are looking at the lower, mid or upper end fabric option.Hope that helps!I purchased the turtle print, which Amazon refers to in their listing as a "Deluxe" item, and the fabric is woven polyester-- meaning it is from their mid line. We have loved it and have no complaints as to chafing on my little guys skin.
