They are associated with the Windy brand, which is known for producing high-quality martial arts equipment. Here is what you should know about Windy shin guards:
Shin Guard Purpose: Shin guards are essential protective equipment in many sports, including martial arts (such as Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA), soccer, and other contact sports. They are designed to protect the shin bone, which is particularly vulnerable to injury during physical activities.
Windy Brand: Windy is a reputable brand in the martial arts and sports industry, known for its quality and durability. Windy shin guards are well-regarded by practitioners and athletes for their protective features and comfort.
Materials: Windy shin guards are typically made from high-quality materials, such as synthetic leather or genuine leather, for durability and longevity. The padding inside the shin guards is designed to absorb and disperse impact, reducing the risk of injury.

Sizes: Windy shin guards come in various sizes to accommodate different athletes, from youth sizes to adult sizes. It's essential to choose the right size to ensure a proper fit and maximum protection.
Types: Windy offers a range of shin guards to cater to different sports and preferences. For example, they may offer shin guards specifically designed for Muay Thai, which tend to be longer and offer more shin coverage, or shin guards designed for MMA, which may be shorter and provide greater mobility.
Protection Levels: Windy shin guards are available in various protection levels. Some are designed for light training and focus on comfort and mobility, while others are built for heavy sparring or competition and offer enhanced protection.
Maintenance: Proper maintenance is crucial to prolong the life of Windy shin guards. Cleaning them regularly, allowing them to air out, and storing them in a cool, dry place can help prevent odors and extend their lifespan.

User questions & answers
Question: | How much does the product weigh |
Answer: | 15 to 16 oz per shin guard |
Question: | I am 5 foot 6, weigh about 57-58 kilograms, my calf diameter is 13-14 inches, so would I need a medium size shin guards |
Answer: | I'm 5-9, 180 pounds and have a 17 inch calf so I went with the large Thai shin guards. Large covers entire foot area and excellent knee coverage which is very important to avoid knee-on-knee collision, which is what I was having problems with cause I was using Title brand and some of the basic Fairtex shin guards. I highly recommend Top King. For 13 to 14 inch calf, I would guess a medium. Hope that helps, best of luck. |
Question: | Can this be used in amateur competion or only training |
Answer: | These are top of the line Pro shin guards. I use them for drills and sparring and have lasted a little over 2 year. They've worked well for me and I will be replacing the old ones with the same Top King brand. |
Question: | Im 5'8" tall should I get a size large |
Answer: | I am 5'4 and I got a medium... And they are a little long but I have a lot of muscle in my calf... I would say a large for your size |
