Fencers usually get their equipment directly from suppliers like Absolute Fencing Gear, Blue Gauntlet, and Leon Paul. If you are required to have an FIE blade, you should look for Blaise Freres (BF), Leon Paul FIE, Vniti, and the like. If you're in the US, you aren't required to use FIE gear unless competing internationally.

Answer: It would be as adequate as any soft side bag would be. Would have to be careful when packing weapons so as not to bend easily. It is fairly priced for what you get but don't expect a super high end bag. I like mine but use it just for back and forth to lessons locally.
