9 best cue shafts
Cue shafts are an essential component of cue sticks used in billiards and pool games. These shafts play a crucial role in determining the accuracy, feel, and overall performance of a cue. Here is some information about cue shafts:
Material: Cue shafts are typically made from various types of wood, with maple being one of the most popular choices. Other woods, such as ash or hickory, are also used for shaft construction. The choice of wood affects the cue's stiffness, flexibility, and responsiveness.
Taper: Cue shafts have a taper, which is the gradual narrowing of the shaft from the thicker end (near the butt of the cue) to the thinner end (near the tip). The taper profile can vary, with popular options being pro taper and conical taper. The taper influences how the cue feels and plays.
Ferrule: The ferrule is a small collar located just below the cue tip. It is typically made of materials like plastic or ivory. The ferrule serves to protect the shaft and enhance cue-ball contact, improving accuracy.
Tip: The cue tip is the part of the shaft that makes contact with the cue ball. Tips are usually made of leather and come in various hardness levels, ranging from soft to hard. The hardness of the tip affects cue ball control and spin.
Joint: Cue shafts are designed to be attached to the butt of the cue stick via a joint mechanism. The type of joint used can vary between cues, with popular options including the quick-release joint and the standard joint. The joint type can affect how the cue feels during play.
Weight: Cue shafts come in various weights, and players often have preferences for lighter or heavier shafts. The weight can influence the balance of the cue and how it feels in the player's hand.
Finish: The finish of the cue shaft can impact its smoothness and overall appearance. Some shafts have a natural wood finish, while others may be coated with materials like fiberglass or resin for added protection and durability.
Customization: Many players opt to customize their cue shafts to suit their playing style. This can involve selecting specific woods, tapers, tips, and even adding decorative elements.
Maintenance: Proper maintenance of cue shafts is essential for longevity and optimal performance. This includes regular cleaning, sanding, and re-tipping when necessary.
Price Range: Cue shafts can vary widely in price, with factors like the quality of materials, craftsmanship, and brand reputation influencing the cost. High-end cue shafts are often sought after by professional and serious players.
In summary, cue shafts are a critical component of cue sticks used in billiards and pool games. They come in various materials, tapers, and configurations, allowing players to choose a shaft that suits their playing style and preferences. The right cue shaft can significantly impact a player's accuracy and performance on the table.

Question: | Can you also order a break shaft with this and the 12mmhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/slredirect/picassoredirect.html/ref=sspa_dk_detail_6?ie=utf8&adid=a |
Answer: | The 4300 High Performance Rotary Tool could do some cutting in stone tile with a EZ545 diamond wheel (requires an EZ402 Mandrel). We would also recommend considering a 575 Right Angle attachment to offset from the diameter of the tool when cutting. This recommended wheels should be run in excess of 18,000 - 20,000 RPM and is designed to make small cuts in tile suitable for foot traffic. |
Question: | Does this come in 19oz |
Answer: | You know it. Take it from me it works great for this. I use it on all my family , friends and by golly our pets too. Use to use those green 3 m or scotch brite pads to brush with. It would bring some of the white back. Especially from behind your bottom front teeth. But it left crud all along the gum line. Til i broke out my dremel stuck it in a zip lock bag poked just the tip out (get it just the tip lol) anyhow grab a diamond tip engraving bit and go for it. I myself am getting a groove around each tooth because i do my own. But the wives and their kids i can do perfect. Even put the LA Dodgers logo on my oldest sons front tooth. Now when he eats food gets stuck in there and you can see it perfect. Thinking about opening a business doing that on the west coast. Kinda like the capping the teeth they do back east. Da ya think ir would take off? Interested in talking to investors. Hmu |
Question: | Can you get these with a radial pin instead of uni-loc |
Answer: | The blades lock in place |
Question: | So if rubber grip gets worn through normal wear and tear what are my options |
Answer: | China |

G-Core Shaft
The G-Core’s carbon fiber extends the first 7 inches of the shaft. This stabilizes the front-impact area of the shaft for more control and reduces the inconsistencies found in traditional maple shafts.Triple-Layer Design The G-Core’s triple-layer design reduces vibration and minimizes shaft distortion. This increases radial consistency, which promotes enhanced accuracy and stability.
CT Technology
The G-Core utilizes our proprietary CT Technology (Carbon Tenon): a carbon fiber ferrule core that results in greater strength, efficiency and precision. This results in a stronger ferrule assembly with maximum impact properties and enhanced feedback. The red dampening device at the base of the ferrule helps reduce shaft vibration upon impact.
Radial Consistency
Radial consistency is the shaft’s ability to perform the same way on every shot, regardless of its orientation. The carbon fiber core technology found in the G-Core makes it one of the most radial consistent shaft on the market. The G-Core will consistently provide a straighter cue ball path, minimizing the need to compensate for spin and throw.
Everest Tip by Tiger
Each Everest laminated tip is individually tested for consistency, hardness and quality. It shapes like a hard tip, hits like a medium, but has the control of a soft tip. Everest tips have 10 layers that include a red warning layer to indicate when it needs replacement.
Y2PLAY Stores is proud to offer a variety of McDermott shafts as replacement or additional shafts for your McDermott cue. McDermott shafts with a 3/8x10 pin feature a wood joint without a metal inset. Due to the nature of this joint type, and the construction methods used by McDermott cues, please be aware that the shaft you purchase may not be a precise match to your existing cue. This may be evidenced in a slight difference in overall diameter between the shaft and butt of the cue,
