The Trapper is a part of the Amber Bone CV Family. Many Case users call on our traditional alloy steel blades to get the job done right while enjoying its ease of re-sharpening. This durable folding knife features a peach seed jigged amber bone handle with two full length blades, the clip and spey blades. The Clip blade is commonly used as a multi-purpose blade and preferred for detail work. The spey blade has a specially curved tip making it a common all-purpose utility blade. The basic trapping and skinning blades and its light weight, it is a must-have knife for those who trap small game. This knife is constructed with our chrome vanadium (CV) steel. Some knife lovers will settle for nothing less than chrome vanadium blades, since this special formula of alloyed steel is the “original” Case blade steel. Case chrome vanadium blades are known for their edge-holding ability and easy re-sharpening. However, they are less resistant to rusting, pitting and discoloration than stainless steel. We recommend keeping a thin film of oil on the blade to maintain the finish. This ensures that your knife will be around for future generations to enjoy. This pocket knife is suitable for everyday demands, the outdoors, or hunting. Comes conveniently packaged in a box. Made in Bradford, PA, USA from domestic and imported materials.

Care Tips for Case Knives
Tru-Sharp Stainless Steel (SS) is a special high-carbon steel that helps the blades hold an edge. It also offers extraordinary blade strength and corrosion resistance.
Chrome Vanadium (CV) blades are known for their edge-holding ability and easy re-sharpening. However, they are less resistant to rusting, pitting and discoloration than stainless steel. We recommend keeping a thin film of oil on the blade to maintain the finish.
Sharpening
Blades are honed at an inclusive angle of 35° - 45° from the factory. Maintaining a constant angle, hold the blade 17° - 22° from the surface of a sharpening stone and stroke the blade as if shaving a thin layer from the stone. Repeat the stroking motion along the entire edge of the blade starting at the blade heel and working to the tip. Turn the blade over and repeat the process.
Cleaning
To clean the blades and handles of your Case knife, apply a small drop of oil in the joints of your knife and a small amount of oil on a clean, soft rag or cloth. Wipe down the blades and handles with the soft cloth. The inside of knife can be cleaned with cotton-tipped swabs and wooden tooth picks. To remove any adhesive tape on your knife, apply nail polish remover or lighter fluid to a soft cloth to easily remove the residue. Rusting may occur to older knives. Rust spots on older knives should be oiled well and the knife should be allowed to sit for a few days. Carefully, scrape away the rust spot with the tip of a sharp, stiff knife.

Our Recommendation

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the black blade powder coated and if so does it wear after Time |
Answer: | Thanks for the question. The coating is a PVD coating. This coating is the most common coating process for knives, watches and actually wheels. The coating can chip, wear and scratch though. Some people like this as it shows normal wear through use, kind of like denim. Thanks again and let us know if you have any other questions. |
Question: | Can you thumb-flick the knife open, or does it only open with a slow roll of the finger |
Answer: | It’s an easy thumb flick to open |
Question: | Is this spring assisted, and is it a switchblade |
Answer: | This is not a switchblade and it is not spring assisted. |
Question: | Where's this made |
Answer: | A lot of description with nothing about the knife being made in china... it's almost like they avoided listing where it was manufactured on purpose. |

Product description
The oldest evidence that beer was brewed in Germany comes from around 800 b.C. By the second century, beer was being traded commercially in Germany. In 1516, Duke wilhelm IV of bavaria enacted the reinheitsgebot, or the purity law, which regulated the brewing of beer in Germany. The town of Solingen, known as the Cutlery center of Germany, also enacted strict laws for the manufacture of knives and shears. While BOKER is not quite as aged as the brewing industry, the same quality standards apply. To commemorate this common interest, BOKER is introducing a Series of traditional pocketknives with handles made from genuine German Ale/beer barrels, handcrafted in the Solingen factory. Includes solid nickel silver bolsters, brass liners, carbon steel blades and the ressurected old Tree Brand blade etching. A great item for the collector or everyday user. Congress pattern, closed length: 3 3/4 .

Question: | Do blades lock open |

User questions & answers
Question: | What's the handle material of this blade |
Answer: | It does unscrew but I do not know if it is standard with other handles. I truly do NOT recommend this cane. It was extremely fragile and broke in half on the second day it was used. It was leaning against a patio chair and slipped to a wooden deck floor. It fell about 20 " to the deck snapped like a tree limb in a hurricane. No repair was possible. All I could think of was that my husband could have been using this on stairs and it could have broken. It was somewhat attractive but please look for something safer. |
Question: | What are the dimensions of the blade |
Answer: | 3/4” |
Question: | How heavy is this knife? Does it easy carry |
Answer: | No this cane is made in India. |
Question: | Is the blade of this folding knife stabilize |
Answer: | On a coloring book or another somewhat sturdy surface on top of the table it should be fine. There are straps on the sides to pull it nice & tight. I love this thing! |

Crag J1904 Black PVD AR-RPM9
The Crag is a substantial cleaver style knife that can tackle even the hardest tasks with ease. Featuring a 3.43” long blade that is over an inch wide, the crag can power through bigger cuts with ease while still being acute enough for delicate work. The 4.72” handle provides a substantial grip while still being light and maneuverable in hand.
AR-RPM9 Powder Steel
The Crag’s blade is constructed from our proprietary AR-RPM9 steel that perfectly blends edge retention, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening. This is the ideal option for an every day carry knife that will stay strong through all of your adventures.
Cutting Profile
A cleaver style blade is a perfect choice for those who tend to do larger cutting tasks on a regular basis, the wide profile allows the blade to glide through material much more easily and with substantially more control than a thinner knife. The squared off tip increases the overall durability of the knife while still allowing it to deal with finer tasks.
Blade
We were very careful in our consideration of the blade thickness of the Crag, we wanted to make sure that the blade could be heavily used while also not being so thick that it would bind up on material or get stuck. The perfect mid-point ended up being 0.13”, just thick enough for big tasks but still thin enough behind the edge to be an effective slicer.
Handle Material
Carbon Fiber adds just a touch of class to this otherwise beefy blade. We use a Carbon Fiber laminate that is smooth to the touch and extremely durable and resistant to moisture and temperature changes. The smooth finish is exceptionally comfortable in the hand and helps to elevate this knife to something with just a little bit more swagger.
Features
In order to ensure smooth and fast operation we’ve outfitted the Crag with a ceramic ball-bearing pivot construction which allows for quick and snappy one-handed flipper deployment and smooth closing action. A ceramic detente ensures that this knife will maintain crisp, snappy action for a lifetime of use.
Clip
The Crag features a blacked-out deep-carry clip that sinks all the way into the pocket ensuring that your knife won’t get caught on any wayward surfaces. We’ve also included a large lanyard hole that is compatible with 550 paracord or leather cordage for those who prefer to carry their knives using a lanyard.

User questions & answers
Question: | Why does the black trapper say origin: china, but the brown and yellow say germany? is the black one made in china or germany |
Answer: | This Boker pocket knife is made in Germany. Finishingredients assembly and final sharpening are purported to be by hand. All metal parts are stamped on a small straight side press in small production runs. Bone pattern is in a pattern figure. Shaping and fit of bone is by hand with the Boker tree brand emblem. Quality matches or exceeds Case knives for about 1/3rd less. I have a comparable Case Trapper that priced higher. I love both knives. Case are made in the U.S.A. Both have long standing tradition, community history and proud local followings. If you must have a knife made in the United States then Case is probably your choice but I really like this Boker Copperhead. |

User questions & answers
Question: | what size are the star screws holding the belt clip on |
Answer: | If you can afford a carving jack why would you even consider buying this ??? don't get me wrong it's a good little knife for the money but it's bulky and not ergonomic at all your hand will hurt after a wile and the blades don't lock like the carving jack . You'll have to sharpen it to your liking ,but I rather loose a $ 25 knife in the woods than a $140 any day of the week. over all it's not a bad little knife once is sharpened |
Question: | What is the handle made of |
Answer: | We do not carry a left handed model. |
Question: | I bought this knife and opened it fine. Now I can't close it! Can someone please help |
Answer: | This is sad. I am 63 years old and remember when "Schrade" and "Uncle Henry" were brand names of knives you were PROUD to own and showed off to all your friends. Fortunately I do still have one old 'Uncle Henry" old enough to be of good quality. I recall sharpening a knife (Uncle Henry) for our Sgt and when he cut himself with it the doctor (took 12 stitches inside & out to sew him up) said it looked like he had been cut with a scalpel. I bet you couldn't get one of these new knives that sharp. |
Question: | Can you clean a deer with it |
Answer: | To all those complaining about the blades not locking, a blade lock was developed to keep a knife from closing when it is used to stab, like a folding skinner going through thick hide at the start of a cut (which is the wrong way to start that cut, too, by the way). If you are using this tool in any way that causes the blades to close on your fingers, you don't know how to use the tool, and you're looking for a hardware fix for a training deficiency. Stop blaming the tool and fix your ignorance. Nobody is born knowing how to use a carving knife, or any other type of knife, any more than they're born knowing how to use a hammer, saw, drill, gun, stove, oven, or jackhammer, and you shouldn't expect to expertly use a tool until you've spent some time learning how to. |
