Answer:	Hello Linda, The Remington 700 SPS comes factory barreled without sights unless special ordered. If I understand correctly you are using a form of Back Up Sight System that would be currently mounted to the Receiver where a Scope mount of this type would normally be mounted. If this is so then the answer would be "No". The 300 Ultra Mag is a "Short Action" Cartridge and the Mount you have inquired of is for a "Long Action". A Short Action version of this Mount is offered on Amazon. This Mount you are inquiring about is great for "Scope Only" with a variety of Scope Rings available from Amazon as well. When choosing your Scope Rings make sure they are of the correct Tube Diameter, i.e., 1 inch or 30mm. If a Picatinny mount Back Up Sight were to be mounted to this mount you would have to take into account the much Higher Elevation of the sight after being mounted that would severely change the adjustability of your Rear Sight to Front Sight Ratio. Depending on your existing sight system it may make sight adjustment more problematic. My personal opinion would be to go either with Scope only, or, stay with your existing sight system if you're proficient and comfortable with your existing sights. If your existing Sights are Barrel Mounted from the Factory or installed to the barrel by a gunsmith, then the Short Action version of this mount will work for Receiver Mounting providing the Rings are tall enough to allow your scope to clear the top of the sights as not to obstruct your Scope View. Answer:	Good Question, I don't have a clue. As far as the adhesive I can only tell you that when a piece of scrap hit the floor, it stuck. It didn't come up easily, or until you hit it with adhesive remover.
Question:	Does this scope require a battery to get a cross hair? I don't want to rely on a dead battery in the field
Answer:	This can not be used on the exhaust system. It can be used on the fire wall or underside of the vehicle to shield the floor board etc. from exhaust pipe heat. But it must have a one inch or so air gap. For exhaust componants use a wrap product like lava rock.
