If you're talking about a holographic red dot, I can tell you that my XD-S 45 shows 5 grooves in the slide grip on the top back portion when it's in the holster. I can also see the loaded chamber indicator while the gun is holstered so I would suspect the holster would accommodate a holographic red dot sight.

Answer:	Since the bottom of the kydex is open it DOES fit the 4.0 model as well as the 3.3

Question:	Upgrade to low profile j-hooks. are the j-hooks metal and do you have to buy the j-hooks separately or as an option made during the holster purchase
Answer:	We carry low profile clips, which are made from Nylon they work similarly to the metal clips as they go over the belt and the "Clip" of the hook is on the inside of the clip. So nothing is protruding out like with the metal clips.We also carry J hooks, they are made of Kydex. The J hooks do work differently than the low profile clips or the metal clips. The J hooks go behind the belt and only the small front tab sticks out from the bottom of the belt, so the weight of the gun and the holster is on your pants and not on your belt with the J hooks. The low profile clips or the J hooks are both separate listings so you do have to purchase them in addition to the holster.

Answer:	My son uses for night fishing. It goes through wash. Dryer on delicate to get dampness out then hang dry. It loses the "new" look but is clean for more fishing

Answer:	I know this is too late to help you but maybe others have the same question. After modifying sleeping bags, down and wool blankets and military poncho liners into under- and overquilts for hammocks I don't see why you couldn't convert this into an underquilt. I am thinking a few yards of 2in gross tape and some bungee cord would turn this into a great end-season quilt.
