6 best schrade skinning knives
Schrade is a well-known American brand with a strong reputation for producing high-quality knives, including skinning knives that are popular among hunters and outdoor enthusiasts. Here is what you should know about Schrade skinning knives:
Purpose-Built Design: Schrade skinning knives are purpose-built for the specific task of skinning game animals. They are designed to have a narrow, curved blade that makes it easier to separate the skin from the meat while minimizing the risk of puncturing the hide.
Blade Materials: Schrade typically uses high-quality stainless steel for the blades of their skinning knives. Stainless steel is known for its durability, resistance to corrosion, and ease of maintenance.
Blade Shape: The blades of Schrade skinning knives often feature a drop-point or gut-hook design. The drop-point design allows for precise control when making initial incisions, while the gut hook helps in opening the abdominal cavity without puncturing the organs.
Handle Materials: The handles of Schrade skinning knives are designed for a comfortable and secure grip. They are often made from materials like rubber, textured synthetic materials, or wood, ensuring that users can maintain control even in wet or slippery conditions.
Size and Weight: Schrade offers a range of skinning knife sizes to cater to different preferences and game sizes. Some models are compact and lightweight for ease of carry, while others are more substantial for larger game.
Safety Features: Many Schrade skinning knives come with protective features such as blade guards or sheaths to ensure safe storage and transportation. These features help prevent accidental injuries and keep the blade in optimal condition.
Durability: Schrade is known for producing durable knives that can withstand the rigors of outdoor use. Their skinning knives are built to last and perform consistently, even in challenging hunting environments.
Affordability: Schrade skinning knives are often competitively priced, making them accessible to a wide range of hunters and outdoor enthusiasts. This affordability does not compromise the quality of the knives.
Warranty: Schrade typically offers a limited lifetime warranty on their knives, reflecting their confidence in the quality and craftsmanship of their products.
Schrade skinning knives are trusted tools for hunters who require precision and reliability when field dressing game animals. With their well-designed blades and comfortable handles, these knives are valued for their ability to make the skinning process more efficient and enjoyable for hunters.

User questions & answers
Question: | I’m guessing the 69ot number is just knife and 69otcp is with case |
Answer: | Hello Amberide Customer, Thank you for your question. this holster is fit the Glock 19 Gen(3-5) & 23 Gen (3-4). Unfortunately, it is Not compatible with Glock 23/32 Gen 5. The Slide Width of Glock 23/32 Gen 5 is a little wider (Glock 23/32 Gen 5 Slide Width: 1.08 inch. Other Slide Width: 1.0 inch). But we already have plans to improve the holster to make it compatible with Glock 23/32 Gen 5. When we are finished, we will let you know. Thank you very much for your business and support. |
Question: | Does 69OT come with carry case |
Answer: | It depends on your grip length and ankle circumference. If your scrubs are loose enough you would be fine. I wear mine with straight leg jeans on the inside and it bulges a bit, but no one has noticed but me. |
Question: | Is this knife USA made |
Answer: | No, here is the link to the one that will. https://www.amazon.com/Pro-Tech-Outdoors-Concealed-Ankle-Holster/dp/B00UQQ7YQ6/ref=mp_s_a_1_31?dchild=1&keywords=protech+ankle+holster&qid=1593230483&sr=8-31 |
Question: | Does the Saw Lock |
Answer: | I am not that familiar with the Colt Mustang .380 but it will probably fie in that ankle holster. I use mine with the Ruger LCP 380 which, I believe is a little smaller than the Colt Mustang .380. Bottom line, however, I am not crazy about the ankle holster anyway so I use the thin "boot top" holster for my LCP. |
Question: | Is this knife made in the USA |
Answer: | The holster itself, the part that the gun sits in too is sewn to the strap and is not removable from the strap. |
Question: | Do the blades lock? Thx |
Answer: | It fit my gen 3 Glock 22, had to remove handle strap as holster bore was not big enough to have handle strap on. The slide strap is more than enough as I ride with it on my leg. Belt loop and drop height are adjustable. No place for extra magazine |
Question: | How good is it for shaving |
Answer: | From the top fold to the joint at the base of the Velcro is 4 inches. However, if you only secure the upper strap by half the provided Velcro pad, you could extend it to fit a 4.5 inch belt... but it will not be as secure. |
Question: | So its called the trapper, is it good on skinning small game like butter |
Answer: | Yes, It is gong to fit great |
Question: | Is this a USA blade or china |
Answer: | No you cannot. |
Question: | Hello on the knife does it say 152 usa. or just USA maid sharpfinger |
Answer: | It fits my sccy cpx 1. Should fit a glock 27 just fine. |
